I'm not an expert on modding but the scale of those tools seems p. mindblowing to my layman eyes. You can build your own full-on open-world RPG with those.

Very generous giving away Skald. This tool looks complex enough to be commercially viable.

Also how the fuck is Crytek ok with them releasing the entire Cryengine toolkit?
CryTek approved it.
CryEngine was (is?) free anyway (with caveats, just like Unreal or Unity)
This is modified CE 3, current version is 5
It's not like we're releasing CryEngine source code

I was mulling a replay, but now I'll wait what grand plans modders draw up (that will inevitably crash and burn).

A rebalancing mod that makes combat more difficult and the simulationist aspect more compelling would be great.

The game isn't about jews and gypsies, why would they be in a game that has nothing to do with them?
Because they were inherent part of medieval society in HRE and shaped it heavily. I'd argue the things that are missing most from the game are (in order of importance):
1. Kids
2. Tons of pregnant or infant-nursing women
3. Extensive families and deeper social relationships
4. Jews
5. Heavier emphasis on agriculture and expanded livestock

Any of these would heavily alter what stories we would write and how you would perceive the depicted society and social phenomena overall.
Do you think you will expand on these things in the sequel? I hope you do.

Btw, I am not an history expert and definetely not about Medieval Bohemia, but I do remember thinking that families were too little in the game, not many married couples and especially I don't remember a single NPC who had brothers or sisters and well, people used to have much larger families during those days (although a lot of children died prematurely).
Still, I accepted their absence because I knew it was difficult (for a lot of reasons) to properly implement them. I didn't know about Jews in the area, though, but as I said I'm far from being an expert on Medieval Bohemia.

Anyway, despite these inaccuracies, I felt KCD was still an authenthic experience overall, way more accurate than well, any other video game out there probably, and also, more importantly, a very good game made with the right skill and passion. So thank you for that and thank for your posts here, they were interesting to read.
Good luck with your next project, hope you guys are ready to announce it and/or say something about it in 2020.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
I just hope something comes out of this and entire thing doesn't fail to pan out like with Witcher 2/3 modding in terms of bigger projects that could only be achieved with proper tools.

Expecting anything big is probably not realistic. Although the average player count has been p. steady at about 3k every month since the launch which is very good for a two-years old AA single player game. Seems the playerbase is p. solid.

I hope all those people on reddit who bitched at Warhorse to release the modding tools will now download them and start creating interesting stuff with them.
Nonetheless, releasing them is great even if no huge Enderal-like mods get made. If anyone wants to work at Warhorse, making something with this will probably be a pretty good CV.
