Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I don't have any issues with the landscapes, in fact I think it's the sole reason the game looks decent versus shit. I don't know, something about it just doesn't do it for me though. Things look low res even at the highest settings. At high, I was able to literally see the polygons in an archway, and even at very high it still looked weirdly fuzzy. The ground textures are also a bit meh. It's not bad by any means, and obviously better than a almost everything I usually play, but I guess if I'm going to play a game that tries to lean into the graphics, I really expect the creme de la creme. Also, when you're playing a game with an art style, it's okay for things to not be super "detailed", or rather, not completely realistic. But since the game is meant to be as realistic as possible, it's hard not to notice bad lip syncs or small graphical inconsistencies. I honestly prefer the beautiful art of IWD/BG or something like Vagrus versus what we have in the game, though it's a fair attempt.

BTW, so the game saves everytime you quit? Doesn't that negate some of the challenge i mean seems like its easy to save scum any time you want just by quitting. Not that i'd do it or anything.

Anyway, i'm already at level 5 herbalism lmao. The kleptomania is real.

It's a temp save I believe. Just to save your progress.

If you actually die I believe it rolls you back to the last real save you made.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
Skalitz is a masterpiece in enviormental design. The only other game i remember that paid this much attention to terrain was Gothic.
Yeah good way to put it. Felt much more like being in a place that actually exists
That's because the game's terrain is modelled after the real thing. IIRC they literally bought some satellite maps and used them to model the terrain.

If you look at the real place in Google Maps it's not a 1:1 copy but the game map is stapled together from big chunks of the real map and you can easily spot what's what.

Also really cool to compare the real Rattay to the ingame one:

So for the fun of it i decided to rob Skalitz blind without actually chocking anyone. Kinda fun, the NPCs come and go and on almost every house i got the chance to sneak in and pick the place clean. I found a couple of "hard" locks i couldn't open but every time an NPC closes a door they lock it again which theoretically would allow me to practice my lockpick skills to the point i could open the hard locks as well, but i don't think i'm that autistic.

Lmao, so i was able to level up lockpick to 6 and unlocked all the hard and very hard doors and chests in Skalitz and just looted everything that wasn't nailed down.

I don't know why but i always find thieving entertaining in those kind of games. I guess it just adds something different to do from the usual combat stuff.

I think i'm ready to leave now. I could choke and loot all the guards but i suspect even on hard core that would trivalize the early portion of the game given all the armor and weapons they have. I probably already have too much gold as it is with all the loot i stole. It was fun to try but i gotta move on getting sick of this town lul.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is the preeminent medieval crime simulator:

It's really quite a pity that the KCD game engine wasn't immediately licensed to another developer to create a game focusing on criminal activities in a large (by medieval standards) city.

You can, in theory, get lvl 15+ in Herbalism in the tutorial alone.

You can, and probably should, level your combat skills by fighting the unarmed ring fights in Rattay, fight in the combat ring with Bernard and eventually in the Rattay tourney.

Getting the treasures on the ancient piece of paper is also ideal.

And, finally, getting Forester in the Hunting tree is really good early. But that one requires a bit of grinding.

So Herny is a womanizing Chad. Not only that Theresa woman came to visit thisting for his dick despite telling her he was interested in that other Bianca whench but i barely managed to get out of town and some noble woman is already hitting on me. Getting that Virgin achievement is going to be hard. Every woman you find seems to just want to fuck Herny.

Even harder bc once or twice the game just drags you into bonga-bonga without you having the first clue it's gonna happen (if you're a first-timer that is).

Hint: if you fail the speech/charisma check with the Uzhic priest during the MQ you'll have to go through an alternative route to pry the info from him, which includes SX.

Well i was actually jocking about that Virgin achievement i'm not going to try to get achievements on this run, i'm just going with the flow. Some of them seem to require meta knowledge about quests i'd rather not spoil myself before hand.

I DID have half a mind of roleplaying some lawful good paladin type but thieving is too much fun.

So Sigimund showed up at Talmberg. So far the game has been very cinematic heavy i guess i'm not going to get any freedom from the main plot until i hit Rattay. Writing isn't super profound but it isn't terrible either. Its on par with a fun 90s movie or game for that matter. Its more Hollywood than anything else but at least its free of poz. Its also a welcome sight that they didn't go with the usual try hard grimdark bullshit. There's actually good people in this world, and i already like Sir Robard.

I don't think the priest cutscene actually stops you getting the virgin achievement. Which is probably a good thing, as it's a crime to skip that quest.

That's right, it only opens up at Rattay. I remember I couldn't resolve the quest to leave Talmberg, just couldn't find the required item at all. In the end I glitched out of Talmberg and ran all the way to Skalitz to continue the game.

Also yes, everything till Henry's return to Skalitz is the prologue.

In terms of pure freedom, do the training with Captain Bernard in Rattay asap as it unlocks the full combat system with perfect dodges/blocks etc. Make sure you go back to him later when you're a bit tougher to learn master strikes as well.

In general, I found it was a good idea to use him to grind up combat skills. Unless anyone has a better way of doing it. The main reason is, its combat that you can't die in so you just repeat it over and over. Plus its always fun to beat up Captain Bernard.
Do it enough times and you'll be one shotting everyone.

Yeah, though I'd recommend not overdoing that as you can max all combat stats and skills very easily and the game loses a lot of challenge.

You don't really need to grind combat skill with bertram, most enemies early in early main quest are not really strong, and will give xp all the same.
