Following a longstanding tradition of working out arithmetic problems in computer role-playing games.

I prefer M&M riddles, the Cartographer's one from Xeen comes to mind.
Also, as far as math problems go, Drakensang: The River of Time offers a way better one, in the Ancient Temple (with Amazons), the problem with weights.

Pure math problems don't belong here, particularly the sequence problems from the chess master.
I solved it once, now, I just go for the solution, a good thing he added it.

So, I'm out of the dungeon, you can visit the village again, now, it's a different smaller map with some combat and a bunch of people inside the tavern.

I was searching for an ending to the Black Rose quest and here it is.
Also, you can give an item to the mercenary guild manager from the early village but I have no idea what it is and now I've left the area anyway.
Now I think of it, could it be the scarlet gem from the dungeon's entrance ghost?

Oh well, got an Archmage robe from Maphistor, let's wreck havoc upon Yanos followers, most of the crew is level 20 now, the opposition doesn't stand a chance, it's going to be fast and brutal.

Difficulty is fine even if a bit excessive but shit like "if you want me to leave the tavern, fight this earth elemental I summon" on a quest to peacefully escort drunken patrons out of a tavern is so utterly retarded I just can't help but take a break.

Elemental is nonsense but "drunken patrons" + "dwarfs" = "peaceful" doesn't make sense.

Desisiderius beat me to it.

Edit: You should have a proper bar brawl with them.

Yeah, that was a real headscratcher. Best part is how everyone kept falling over from grease and quicksand.

The Elemental isn't immune to Prone. That's the joke. Haven't tried sliding him onto the the Dwarves yet. Even Pierre isn't that crazy. Or is he?

Why do the sprites look so out of place? I watched some videos to consider playing and I noticed how awkward they looked, can't quite put my finger on it from the videos.

The sprites are designed around an isometic view, but the module was built with 2d tokens in mind. Plus the models themselves just look hideous, at least to me.

Because they were added as an afterthought. I can imagine them looking out of place particularly in the original areas of the campaign where the perspective is strictly top-down while they are made for isometric.

Oh and Pierre said in his Matt Chat he'd be adding more paperdolls and models later for the corresponding races. Someone needs to make sure he makes lizardbolds and not dogbolds. Those new kobold portraits are awful.

Man the tutorial is a work of art. Made me use two spells/tactics I’ve never even tried on the first two real fights and now they’re a staple. Fog Cloud owns Golems vs Magic Missile specialist.

First wipe vs Mimics when I took a wrong turn and ended up fighting the adds too.

And that Fighter turns into a beast. I can see why Samurai/Ranger would pale in comparison in a vacuum, though some of that is item dependent. Bard owning Ghost Dragon in melee is funny.

Is it just me or are all these fruity classes such as Samurai or Death Knight just cringe? I never liked this special snowflake bullshit, and I'm a bit disappointed to see KotC 2 full of it. I loved KotC 1, how does the second compare so far? Are there a lot of bugs? Should I wait for more updates?

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
It's a shame Pierre didn't just expand on the art style of the first KOTC, I think they are about perfect for this type of game.

Could use a few variant sprites for mages and clerics but other than that it's very easy to see whats going on.

Now, I hope the kobolds look like some little doggos just for the butthurt it'd generate...

Cleared outside the castle, extremely easy overall asidee for the 2 dragons fight south west, mostly because one moved away and I couldn't target them both at once, one almost killed the DK.

This game is harder than Icewind Dale 1 and 2 put together. But it's a lot to do with RNG on initiative and rolls, so patience to reload works well. Also if you have a bunch of spell casters like my party, there's basically a solution to every fight in those spells. You just have to find the right ones and use them in the right way, it's not easy but there is a way. Multiple ways in fact, there was a fight near the end of the game where I needed to do it without resting for spells and without using any important spells. I tried a few different ways and lost each time, then I tried just summoning 1 Marilith pet which is a high level spell, but only 1 spell. Combined with a few low level spells like Strength, Constitution, Enhanced Weapon, etc. it slaughtered an entire battle by itself. Way better than wasting Prismatic Void and stuff and it getting resisted or just blinding them.

I get a lot of success with Cleric spells too. I have a Wiz, Sorcerer and Druid so I can nuke the hell out of an area just fine. But damaging a single big target is frustrating. But then I noticed spells like Harm really slaughter single targets and gets resisted a lot less. Also Holy Word is uber. I can just run the Cleric next to the big group of enemies and that will daze most enemies for a while. Epic game! I hardly ever re-play games but I would play this multiple times. It's my new TOEE.
