We're celebrating the launch of MechWarrior 5 Mercenaries and the 20th anniversary of Piranha Games!

• Mingle with the PGI Developers in a deluxe party venue, overlooking a spectacular view of the North Shore!

• Friday December 20th from 5 PM to 1 AM

Can I bring my Family?

• Kids 13 and under can be brought as an additional guest for free

• If you want a shirt for them you will have to purchase an additional ticket.

Ticket Refunds Policy

• We will be able to issue refunds up to November 30th.
  
  
  
• We will not be able to ship out t-shirts to anyone who bought a ticket but is unable to attend.
  
  
  
• We have a limited number of tickets available only purchase if you can commit to attending the event.

Can I post Photos or Stream on Social Media

• Yes! If you come to the event taking photos and posting online is OK as long as you are being respectful.
  
  
  
• Sure, you can post videos if you have asked permission of those in the video, otherwise, keep it local.
  
  
  
• Don't post compromising photos or videos in bad taste. We realize the world rewards controversy but were just trying to have a good time.
  
  
  
• We won't have a dedicated public Wifi or wired internet so use your data at your own risk.

Behavior

• This is a fun event and overt negativity is not welcome.
  
  
  
• Children maybe present, no excessive swearing, please.
  
  
  
• Respect each other's personal space.
  
  
  
• Drink responsibly.
  
  
  
• No smoking in or around the venue except for designated areas.
  
  
  
• Follow venue rules.

• You maybe asked to leave and be escorted out by security at their or the venue's discretion.

Unless I personally knew someone involved with development I cannot imagine a more cringe event to attend than a PC game launch. At least at a console launch you have the chance for girls (or "girls") in cosplay.

Its one of those things with mandatory attendance, the question is more why even bother? "Launch parties" on entertainment is more about establishing connections to get people (as they are more or less freelancers) involved in their other projects as in gaming ... its useless ego stroking from nobodies that want to emulate their big brothers without understanding why those things exist.

How did they manage to find a 90's instructional video radical dude to make the walkthrough narration? Do they have a ready-to-deploy 90's rapper in the same room too?


Anyway, at least that AC20 is firing fully automatic and the UAC has rotating barrels, which is the aesthetically pleasing way (this is because in an earlier trailer a King Crab was firing single shot, and I think that's how it is in MWO too).

AFAIK AC20 could be fully automatic OR single shot, since every "Auto Cannon n" is only an abstraction for a wide variety of weapons.
Also, if UAC is a rotationg barrel gun, how is it different from rotary AC?

Well there's basically no consistency at all when it comes to autocannons in the material, you can have 203mm full automatics and ones that are like modern 120mm tank guns both classified as the same fucking thing (AC20), since like you said it's basically just an abstraction that's never been given any real definition (and is only made MORE confusing by UAC and RAC, and RAC is THE headscratcher). Hence why I said full auto is the aesthetically pleasing way to handle the autocannons.
