Miranda's character isn't even portrayed well but she's still one of the best written characters of ME2 which is funny considering the undeserved praise the characters in ME2 get.

She does something retarded the first time you meet her and the game doesn't allow sheppard to disagree, just accept it. Miranda is just "never wrong". Although she is one of 2 characters that actually has an actual reason related to plot for joining the team (oversee Project Lazarus) which is all you can take. Albeit, only made possible by shoehorning in this new, completely different Cerberus.

Sure she has a change of heart about Cerberus at the end but it's undeserved considering there's nothing leading up to that point to warrant it. She vehemently defends Cerberus until late game. Ass, no matter how great it is, does not excuse that.

On a side note, I still love people seething about Jacob cheating on you if you romance him. It's honestly one of, if not the only, good pieces of writing connecting ME2 and ME3. "She requires a better man than I.." when you inquire about Jacob and Mirands history. Literally the only good, subtle foreshadowing in the entire trilogy that was actually followed up on. Also, he's black. Bioware secretly based.
how is her being never wrong good writing
not to mention seemingly all me2 companions have some sort of family issues

It's not a good thing.

But overall, her family issues are better written than others, more interesting as well, but not portrayed well. She's good if you tunnel vision only on ME2 because the game is a steaming pile of shit otherwise.

I never understood the Miranda phenomenon. Like her actress, she is considered very attractive for some reason, to me she looks like an aging bartender.
I get not finding any ME characters hot, but not even Yvonne Strahovski? You sure you aren't gay?

Yvonne is (was) fine. Miranda, however, is "Hi. I'm 35 years old, have two children from two different fathers and I want to speak with your menager".

Miranda's man-jaw was definitely an issue, but she was still hot AF simply through the fact she reminded me of one of my fave porn actresses in her pre-weird prime, Belladonna....

Belladonna, a name I haven't heard in years... Personally, I always preferred Stoya, but you gave me a thought - the decline of Bioware as a company producing fun games began with the fact that they stopped using "erotic models" as templates for their characters. The last one was probably Leliana.

Her teeth look even worse than Miranda's tree fellers.

A certain studio did attempt to make what is essentially a Mass Effect parody with porn.

-checks to see if they actually finished it-

It's still in early access? Holy shit.

Because why make several games when you can rake in millions with the promise of a game, right?

These morons drowned time and money on cutscenes and recording dialogues for an unfinished script instead of making a proper turn-based system. And why add shoot 'em up to all this? Turn-based space combat would be much more enjoyable.

Some old white dude one day wrote “write what you know.” You can see with bioware that they took this advice to heart.

:philosoraptor:
I've always thought the companion writing was for an intended audience of neurotic teenagers, as such I guess it's not too bad. But other parts of the game's writing seem more intelligent, such as the many funny examples of interspecies relationships. Maybe it's just different writers, with vastly different perspectives.

Porn in video games seems almost as cringy as romancing. Still pictures like in The Witcher 1 could work though, and of course good-looking female NPCs. In any case it's imperative that it's not produced by furries or LGBT-zealots, their preferences are by definition incompatible with the rest of humanity.

I think turn based sex scenes could be the next great thing for Bioware or Tyranicon, upstaging even Baldur's Gate 3.

Instead of the normal "Final Fantasy-esque" command line, you could have a menu like:

Fuck
Suck
Parry
Flee

Imagine the possibilities for a new age of degenerate Biowarean gameplay.

If you go through old ME artbooks, they keep saying they had a priority to design female characters as sexy as they could --probably going for that Barbarella effect.

This was absent for future entries' artbooks and the problematic artbooks weren't included in the goodies giveaway they did a while back.
You wonder whether it was a particular designer's ideal of a heavily sexualised woman too. Ashley, Miranda and Isabela are all variations of a certain type - dark hair, angular features, full lips, busty and a full waist with a big ass that's close to getting a little unruly.

Can't say it wasn't a good look to go for either. IRL used to work with a girl like that years ago. Ran into her in the cycle park one morning in her full spandex getup and the memory of how she looked still brings a smile to my face.

They were aiming at the older, fantasy novel-reading crowd. They are way more accepting of such kind of designs as self inserting for women was easier in those situations. On the other hand, EA wanted DA2 and ME2 to be as normie friendly as possible, so it might as well be waifubaiting.

So, Novel Chads likes pretty girls more than normie crowd? I don't buy that. "No pretty girls allowed" was a phase in Wester Civilization and it's going to end soon. Then Bioware remain with head in potty and that is a good thing.

I was talking about the female crowd who reads romance novels, they were a different breed and a big part of the old Bioware crowd. They weren't bothered by such things.

I don't need to imagine because I already know what it's going to be like.

"I wanna fuck you, Shepard."
- Yes, let us make sweet love. (Paragon)
- Sure, let's fuck. (Middle ground wet blanket)
- When I'm done with you you won't be able to walk for a day. (Renegade)
- Fuck me? (Get some more text before you return to the first three options)

I was actually thinking seriously about a sex minigame with attribute checks and dice rolls.

But tbh it was just weird.
