Saying that procedural generation is ''retarded'' and it would be better if he had 2-3 handcrafted planets to explore is kind of a moronic criticism, the game was publicized from the start as procedural and giving you an entire universe to explore, you are not going to get a game of that scale without procedural generation.

Well, the reviewer is a retard.
Just watch that Bioshock Infinite review and how he gushed over the repetitive gameplay in that one.
Sure, vigors are nice, but the game constantly turns into loud and noisy bloodbaths reminding me of GTA killing sprees.
What if I want to be more sneaky? Not an option thanks to grappling hooks dropping me in the middle of enemy groups and shitty staged setpiece fights every other island.

No Man's Sky is still shit of course, but not because of procedural generation, I think that's quite a nice feat. Would be even nicer if they gave creatures interesting abilities and gave everything gravitational pull (so no floating rock islands or other magical wonderland shit) and collisions (yes, I want to ride dinosaurs).
From what I can see so far it's mostly shit because it's popamole levels of easy (maybe mods can fix that? :?), the inventory is a mess, crafting and trading are afterthoughts and sentient species seem to inhabit the same few buildings everywhere, there is no xenoarcheology or other mysteries surrounding them.

I mean Frontier: First Encounter was pretty shit too but there you at least had these federation and imperium and other newspapers even though the news there often didn't have real ingame events matching them. And then it had the Thargoids of course, so at least there was a barebones plot.
Also trading / bounty hunting / mining -> buying new ships and shit >>>>>>> collecting resources just as a means to get to the next planet

Shame. Now he's posting pictures of mods that are 'fixing' the game that last week he claimed was perfect.

Here's a number you can call Makabb - 1-800-799-7233

I wonder how close this is to being illegal (misleading and lying), but then again this is the games industry.

False advertising is illegal. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they got sued over the multiplayer thing.

Who would sue them? Apparently people everywhere are digging this turd. And in the end, it's all about the dollars. Who cares if they never make a game again, the scam has already been conducted.
