In your opinion, what would be the best base class for duelist? Sword saint?

Diluting the pure awesomeness that is Sword Saint beyond a tiny Monk dip for superior defenses should be considered a sin!
Halfling monk1 /SS 19 is best version?

No way! Reducing weapon size dice? Another sin for a damage dealer, particularly one who does not rely on sneak attacks.

Legendary Proportions all the way! Plus Lead Blades if/when available.

Best Defense is a good (enough) offense*:

Alternatively you can just kill everything:

* - Much better STR-based

Just read more details about Aritsans.

According to this list, Serpent Prince and Oppressor are measly Tier 1

Ok but halfling is +3 to AC :D

And most of your damage comes for your spells anyways.. and halfling even gives you +1 attack for that.

Ok starting a new game soon to try the EE. Do you still need:

- to bring Tristian in Vordakai's dungeon
AND
- be of good alignment (I managed it last time starting as Lawful evil and then for the whole game picking good dialogue options but it was a pain.)

to romance Nyrissa?

You don't have to, but it is necessary for some story bits.

>be of good alignment to romance Nyrissa?
Nope, but it helps.

I didn’t bring him. He destroyed the Eye at Abandoned Keep and just earned his Wings so we’ll see.

If you did not bring Tristian with you, you would not get the Briar later.

And there were "good" dialogue options necessary to romance Nyrissa.

Are you saying things changed?

I am saying that you do not need to be good to romance Nyrissa. As to the Tristian issue I am not sure. Desiderius seems to know.

.

How do you know, have you tried it? Or you're talking out of your ass as I suspect?
Hmm no. I nearly romanced Nyrissa with a lawful evil character, but missed it, mainly because I didn't research all the curse projects. Which is evident in the final encounter with her. A dialogue regarding the curse she is afflicted with, will not be removed, unless you have researched all the available curses. Thirteen to be precise. Being good only serves to expedited the process in generating points towards her romance.

You see that big fat [REQUIRES GOOD]?
My question is simple. Do you know if it is still in the game?

Don't bother answer if you are clueless, thanks.

Nice to know. If you did not bring him pre-EE he would not destroy they eye. I wonder what are the new conditions to make him destroy it though.

About secret ending

Tristian was always destroying the Eye, issue with Nyryssa romance was caused by Briar - if he did it later, not in the Vord Tomb, then Briar in Pitax is fake. There are another chance to get it, in HATEOT, but it was bugged and lack of Briar was breaking romance.

Afaik this bug was fixed and Briar could be looted on the second floor in HATEOT so breaking Eye in the tomb is no longer necessary.

I am not sure about evil character though. There are some [Requires Good] choices along the way and I do not know how critical they are.

Yep you are right, he needed to destroy it in the Tomb, not later. That's why you need to bring him with you.

I do not think it was a bug though to not find it later. Actually, if someone could confirm you can find it in the HATEOT later that would be cool.

I'll know for sure soon, but things seem to be on the same arc as they were when I took him. I mean he's blind, so that means he destroyed the Occulus.

Both LG and leave it up to him destroy it. Didn't try to take it from him. If you stay Neutral you do later fail his companion quest though.

I was actually wrong. He always destroys the eye. You needed (when I played) him to destroy it inside Vord dungeon and not in the Keep later.

So the Good (not sure that it even requires any Good options, other than the CG to defend her from the elves) ending for Jaethal's companion quest (the only one I can stomach, no matter how powerful she is otherwise) is decidedly counter-Poz, so credit where credit is due.
