I'm still paying with shekels for information concerning Nok-Nok's location...
you'll run into him eventually as part of the main story

It's going to happen in chapter 2, though? I'm sick of Linzi, so I'm willing to cheat a little and beeline to the stinky goblin.

She is best bard ever ...

Btw, someone noted the absence of Grease as an odd omission, earlier in the thread. Later someone mentioned that they still hadn't found any robes.

Here's maybe another one: Has anyone seen any slings? It's a pretty iconic DnD/PF weapon and it fulfills functions no other basic weapon(s) do, but I still haven't seen one.

Earlier in the thread someone asked if robes exist.

Didn't someone ask if there were slings earlier in the thread?

Sling Staffs are not Slings, though. They're not remotely the same, aside from having "sling" in the name.

You won't be using a full plate with Valerie at level 2 though. Even if you bought it for her (and there are better ways to spend your early money - like getting a good custom character) with her 14STR she would crumble under the combined weight of a full plate + tower shield.
Idk, i want to finish game with full content at least once. And, no - she will no crumble and there are hardly better options to spend money.

On a tower shield specialist with reasonable starting stats and feats compared to Valerie:
- switch Toughness and Bastard Sword proficiency for Dodge and Heavy Armor focus = +2AC. On a tank you want to stack AC not a few more HP and she is not meant to be a primary damage dealer so that bastard sword is pointless, use a longsword instead.
She already starts with Dodge. And Toughness, while questionable, still makes some sense considering the fact that you are not getting max hp per level up.
Bastard sword is really fucking dumb though, i agree.

In addition with levels she could use even more DEX for AC but because her STR is so low you might want to raise that first which means that with levels the difference between Valerie's AC and a min-maxed Tower Shield specialist's AC will be even bigger later on.
Still not 6 or 7 points difference but even 3AC early is a big difference.
She could use a lot of things, like -8 points to charisma and -2 to INT with buffs to STR/DEX instead, true. But then she would not be Valerie - just random statbot #17532 instead.
She will be constantly at heavy load. Though I suppose in P:K it might not be such a big deal.
As to spending money - sure if you don't want to use custom mercs then yes. But some other people will want to make custom mercs and from that perspective, buying a custom merc is the better investment at this stage.

Then not dodge but shield focus, same result.

The point is that Valerie will be a few AC below a well built char of her specialization and deal less damage at the same time. Her stats from "roleplaying" perspective is a different matter and not something I was talking about answering your posts. But if you really insist on talking about that - this a combat focused game with overtuned enemies compared to pnp. It is not that unreasonable to expect NPCs to match that.

And finally even from ropleplaying perspective her stats aren't that well done if you think about it. I mean, where does the 19 CON comes from in her backstory? She isn't supposed to be a female Conan (and even the actual female Conan only has 16). I think it would make much more sense to move some CON (at the very least the odd point) somewhere else. From BOTH mechanic AND writing/roleplaying perspective.
not to mention the "story reason" she has high charisma is because of her beauty
which if you do her personal quest...
she has high charisma because she was a paladin and paladins have high charisma. too bad they switched her to something that never ever uses it

Perhaps she has a personal quest where you can redeem her back to Paladin status? Maybe after a romance or something, but only if you have a high CHA yourself and a Lawful Good alignment? (just guessing here, it would make sense...)

The second english video review I found.

Very small channel but he seems to have some potentialy interesting material. The first two minutes of his deadfire review are pretty good. Weird voice though.

And so, I began my Edmund Blackadder playthrough. Rolling with Jaetah, Amiri, and Harrim. Main character is a lawful evil rogue, ranged weapons. I reached Oleg's trading post, and defeated the encounters there. The bandit attack took me four attempts to get right. I do like the game so far. The wild RNG makes it more fun.

Three skeletal champions are kicking my ass inside a tomb in Old Sycamore Depths.

:shredder:
I murdered them with "crap" Valerie tanking while the "crap" dwarf cleric channeled turn undead.. on challenging difficulty. But the critical person for success was "crap" Octavia and her sneak attack with disrupt undead. She hits almost every time and ignores their DR.

Just goes to show that people that claim these NPCs are crap are actually full of crap.

The game has a nice Warcraft 3 feel to its 3d models. It would have annoyed people a decade or so ago. Nowadays it reminds them of NWN.

I started over. I am playing on the same difficulty level, but changed my main from a fighter to a monk. I went and saved the two people from camp before going to the oak tree place with the mites and goblins. So, I have the same exact party plus the thief/wizard lady and different main class.

For some reason I am now able to destroy everything. I beat the tree-ant mound thing with no issue. No issue on the worg wolf thing in the NE of the map, no issue from the boss fights. The only think that still rapes me is the head in the camp.

I have the same pirated version I've had since the first playthrough, so patches aren't the culprit. Same difficulty options so unless they are bugged it ain't that. I did get a lot better at charging and the IA and setup, etc, but that isn't it either, but that shouldn't account for having certain fights that were impossible for me last playthrough (like the treant mound thing) turning into full on rollstomp. I could barely cause it damage last playthrough while it two or three shot my tank lady. This time was a first time kill and she only took one hit (still took her down to half). Last time I had to put huge effort into the worg and use a bunch of tricks and some cheese, this time I won in a straight up fight and was a first time win.

I am wondering - and this may be why so many people are crying about difficulty - if difficulty settings don't update after setting them at a new game. My last game I started at unfair and turned certain things down. This time I started at challenging and turned certain things up (like the enemy have better stats option). I checked and both are set exactly the same for both playthroughs (showing custom difficulty)

Was this addressed in the patches? Or are people still having issues with the challenge even after the patches? It has to be a bug since the difficulty differences are like night and day - its too stark of a difference to be written off by any other factor like increased skill.

The funny thing is the forum mod they had that complained about Grimoire being so difficult it was hostile to the player (who is probably the same retarded banning everyone and causing tons of bad reviews and pirates), is the only one to criticize Grimoire for being too difficult. Now tons of people are saying Pathfinder is too difficult and hostile to the player. The irony is extremely humorous.

So I cleared the rest of the tree and beat the gnome-goblin again, this time with no issues at all. So , at level 4, I decided to try the head at the camp again. Beat him with minimal effort. There is definitely some sort of difficulty bug going on. I cleared the rest of the map after and the only combat I wasn't able to rollstomp was the werewolf rat things in the bottom-leftish of the map in the cave. Again, the only difference of difficulty level there is between this game and last, where numerous battles were just flat out impossible and are now a cakewalk, is that I started this one on challenging and raised the enemy's manually to more powerful (the one that isn't raised by the increased challenge rating), and the last one I started on unfair and moved the difficulty options down for the received as 1, the enemy power options both to one over normal. All options are now exactly the same, but in one game the enemies are a joke and the other they are impossible.

Anyone else seen this or looking into it?

You continue playing. That is all. You get everyone back besides the obvious one the story tells you that you won't.

You get a chance to recruit her soon enough with a relatively easy Diplo check. Go to the Ancient Temple first.

Q1. Someone knows which is the best rage stance for the Barbarian?

Q2. Do you know if I can sell the gems and stones? I already sold a stash of books weighting 45 lb.

The mouse-overs show the items worth. So far I haven't seen or noticed any items worth zero. Like it most rpgs with weight limits you pick up the items with decent weight/value.

You also get another opportunity to attain Valerie when you do the mite/kobold dungeon if you don't do the diplomacy check when you first meet her after the tutorial.

Serpent in the Staglands Divinity: Original Sin Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 BattleTech Pathfinder: Wrath
Hit Chapter 2 earlier today and I've done little else with my day beyond household chores, errands and washing my car. This game just gets better and better and all the little mechanics I keep noticing (i.e. your party won't run unless none of you are fatigued or otherwise injured and your encumbrance is light) just keep impressing me. It's hilarious to me how much more rewarding, meaningful and fun the Kingdom management is here compared to the weak fart of an attempt by Obsidian in Pillars.

I love ya, Spidey...and I'm sure RDR2 will be somethin' else...but this is shaping up to be GOTY for me, personally.
