I have to say that it's a really fun game and while the start is a bit too linear for my tastes, it still really hooks you on multiple levels. Something PoE really failed to do.

Right away, you know who you are and why you're there. The player is given a stake in the world a clear objective to fight toward. Antagonists are set up and given understandable motives, mechanics like camping are actually fun and interesting (they remind me of realms of arcania).

Of course, the combat system is much better. No Sawyer pet projects that no one asked for shoved in because "balance". I understand it's not 100% faithful to the official ruleset, but then not many games are.

I won't say it's BG or PST. It feels more like MotB.

It's the game all the NWNs should have been, but were too busy struggling with the camera and the MMO crap to ever come close to being.

Game at this state is beta at best
I haven't gotten that far into the game, so statements like this worry me bit. Especially with other posters saying that the beta only went to chapter 3. I think I'm still in the first chapter or so, having just killed you know who for the first time.

What I've seen so far, I've liked a lot and is very polished though (apart from the annoying invisible spell list bug).

Unfortunately it's true. Chapter 4 is a mess and I doubt they fixed it so fast.

Anyway, you have many hours of fun in front of you. Good Luck.

I'm still in Chapter 3, so it's too early to say if it's better or worse than BG.
But I'm REALLY liking what I've seen so far.
If the quality remains the same or picks up in later chapters, BG will have to be dethroned on my Hall of Fame list after 20 years.

I still remember playing through a borked first release of ToB, so my bug tolerance is quite high. If all it needs is a few months of bug fixing to polish this gem, I'm game for cutting them some slack.

edit:
ok, nevermind. Hang them all.

PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath
I passed the spiders cave last night. It was quite hilarious - spiders' unit occupying the same spot as Jaethal, imagine them crawling on her while she and the rest of the party are throwing alchemists' fire on her. <"Get them off me!"> I spent like 10-12 alchemists fires to kill the two swarms. I'm not sure if that was the most effective way, but it worked.

Lol, the game certainly is great in many aspects but it's a feast of bugs. Every patch fixes many but add a few new ones. Yesterday when creating CUSTOM companions I couldn't hear the sample voices to pick a a voice for my two handed specialist, a 2 meter tall black man looking like Mr T. Behold my surprise when after a couple saves I realized one of the voices I was hearing when selecting the group was "his voice", yes it took me some time to realize it was his because I had accidentally chosen a female voice, so I have a Mr T with a sweet voice, so charming.... Is this what the codex refers to as inclusiveness?

Btw, there's no way to edit that, is it?

What's the xp/level cap?

Its 20 level as shown in char creation.

Edit: Ninjaed any good build for Noble Warrior? Wanted RP-it as Paladin at first but this gentleman of color portrait and alignment restriction: knowing how liberal game authors are it will force me to role play as #Orcs lives matter and we must welcome all goblin rapefugees cuck.

Well, there are bugs (some are not apparent on the first glance, like tooltips getting borked if you switch between chars in the character screen), but it still playable, more or less. I remember that MotB did not even start without day one patch (which was like 480 mb and obsidian servers were overloaded  )

So basically you can romance Octavia, and be cucked by Reogar?
Not if he and the coalburner are both accidentally eaten by a wild boar. :M

But yes, that seems to be the idea of their characters. A literal black orc bull for your cuck of a main character.

Great minds think alike. :M

lol, reminds me of Khalid destiny in bg1 in all my games.
they went a bit too far to try to recreate the BG1 experience imo.

Isn't this more like "cuck Reogar with Octavia, who is sort of common property"?
Fabulously optimistic. Just remember where her mouth has been and what it's been doing. It may not bother the orcish animal, but it should bother any sane white man.

Lol, enamoured boys having feelings for their Octavia waifu
Enamored? I just met her. She's going to be dying too.

You burn the coal, you pay the toll, bitch.
