Stoned Ape
Savant
Isn't that the reaction most people have to seeing her anyway?
In simple terms: when you see Anevia again, you might wanna stop.

This is a very niche advantage, as you loose Vulpine Pounce and Bite. That is not automatic positive due to losing reach bonus except for mounted combinations.Just in case anyone is unaware, though I'm sure you are:#1 I already got one mounted guy so I reached my limitTWF, ranged, and VS are all very feat intensive and Feats are about the only thing Shaman doesn’t get.
VS is also nonbo with Barrage. You guys are Vital Strike crazy. Why not just mount up the Orc Shaman and slay with Falch?
#2 When you are mounted you cannot use Enlarge Person and other later spells that are big damage boosts.
You can use Enlarge if you mount a horse and use Animal Growth buff. Also later you can Legendary Proportions both the horse and the rider.
If you are playing a Kitsune in human form then size increases such as Legendary Proportions do not increase your effective size, allowing you to mount pets as normal (giggity)
Her?
Generally I don't want rage effects on my riders, as they loose their swift mobility abilities.Vulpine Pounce is fine, once you get access to ally-cast Frightful Aspect or Legendary Proportions (i.e. the whole reason to be using this trick) you should have Greater Beast Totem online.
Doesn't the AC bonus from worn armor go away, or is that only in wildshape? They don’t make it easy for you like they do with pets/mounts but it can get there. Speed + extra attacks early, special effects later or just a ton with Dragon/Smilo. Can improve the action econ of casters or do some unique things with classes that support it.
Armor is good but of course Armorless is also supported. Depends on the items available to make up for losing weapon slot. Alch doesn’t get Martial prof so less of a loss there.
Yes, that’s my point. Don’t go armorless on classes that can wear armor, but you’re not out of luck of you can’t, such as when Wildshaped. Unclear whether you still get (non-AC) bonuses from armor/shields worn while Wildshaped.Doesn't the AC bonus from worn armor go away, or is that only in wildshape? They don’t make it easy for you like they do with pets/mounts but it can get there. Compared to Beneath the Stolen Lands, there's more player agency involved in choosing which path you take to complete each voyage, and therefore how tough the fights are and which rewards you get for completing each island. I personally feel incentivized to try to find the reward and leave each island as soon as possible, you get about 95% of the EXP that way and the unskippable bosses at the end of each chain of islands tend to carry most of the best items, anyway. Resource management and rest limitation mean you really have to weigh up the risk/reward to fighting certain encounters when there are alternative routes available (some islands force you to fight certain encounters but have tougher fights which are avoidable). So what I gather from the last dozen or so pages is that the Treasures of the Midnight Isles DLC is actually worth it, at least for our resident build-porn autists. I never tried Beneath the Stolen Lands for Kingmaker, it didn't sound very appealing. Does this one differ significantly? It's a very academic question since I'll probably wait to replay Wrath until they are done patching/releasing DLC (lol).
I generally prefer RTwP (TB nerfs the player in ways subtle and not so subtle) but I've found TB almost mandatory for this DLC. Maybe I'm just rusty but even with the 'v' button there's just too much going on to keep very good track of.Midnight Isles Chapter 4 boss pretty interesting, had to play on turn based. Too much stuff going on during waves
I feel you there and have started to do that on certain islands, but you get a decent amount of cash and more importantly reagents and food ingredients (and pots and scrolls if you're using Alch and/or Scroll Savant) from the random chests.I personally feel incentivized to try to find the reward and leave each island as soon as possible
Mage armor works well enough on wildshaped characters (I wonder if mythic Mage armor also works if you pick it up with Druid but cast it with someone else on the druid). Also if you hold a shield when you transform you keep its shield bonus to AC (a bug but I am not going to report it :D)Yes, that’s my point. Mythic Mage armor works perfectly well if you drink a potion or cast it from the scroll in this character's Belt Slot with UMD.Mage armor works well enough on wildshaped characters (I wonder if mythic Mage armor also works if you pick it up with Druid but cast it with someone else on the druid)
Lol, I did that with Val Feyspeaker in P:K. She never really did get there with 1/2 BAB and no melee abilities (along with -2 from Tower), tanking and casting just ended up better, but dedicated Wildshaping classes tend to have more tools.Mage armor works well enough on wildshaped characters (I wonder if mythic Mage armor also works if you pick it up with Druid but cast it with someone else on the druid). Since it scales with Mythic level its fine to pick up at M4 or 5 but you’re better off getting the class-specific Mythics first. Mage Armor scrolls are cheap and you need someone with high UMD for the shrines even if you can’t cast it.Mythic Mage armor works perfectly well if you drink a potion or cast it from the scroll in this character's Belt Slot with UMD.Mage armor works well enough on wildshaped characters (I wonder if mythic Mage armor also works if you pick it up with Druid but cast it with someone else on the druid)
I am doing it with monks of all possible flavors in Rogue-like, scrolls are bit more annoying since your mage will try to cast the spell when you use scroll in inventory, and at the port - fucking chaplain, even from the belt slot!
