Get rid of all tooltips. How should the character know how much damage his sword will deal before using it? Hell, how does he even know the sword's name, or its exact weight?
Taking notes to send to devs for suggestions, thanks.

Combat numbers aren't the same thing. And stuff like the weight of weapons is objectively measurable even within the context of the world so that's not even relevant. Likewise for knowing what a magic weapon is, which can be verified within the context of the universe of the game (lore checks, identify spells etc).

But like i said, knowing what check goes for what line of dialog makes me just want to ignore the text altoghether. It just seems to break immersion where as combat numbers is not something i even care to look at most of the times, since the game does all the calculations anyway, and whether they are there or not changes nothing in how much i'm invested in the world. But checks in dialogue however seem to be interfering with my roleplaying directly. I don't have to weight the consequences of my responses by looking at what the text says. All the mystery is gone.

Tbh I hate how all modern cRPGs show dialogue checks right on the dialogue, it's one of my bigger pet peeves.
Hiding it shouldn't be expert mode, how TF does your character know they would pass a check or not without trying unless they have mind reading or something
It's a video game. There are many things your character wouldn't know from his POV.
And it should be fixed.
Like the isometric camera? :M
That's the reason there's a visibility radius to simulate the character's sight.
But we could see stuff behind the PC as well right? In that respect I think Silent Storm, Planet Alcatraz and 7,62 HC got it right. What you only heard and what you saw were represented differently.

I have nothing against simulating a hearing radius. Actually a very good idea.

BTW, the dialog in this game is... try hard?

Even the writing in Icewind Dale was better. I still remember the conversation with the priest in the temple. It wasn't super profound but it felt interesting and the voice acting was great.

Some of the dialog options here are a mixed bag. And the first resolve check i got was downright harsh. I was planning of playing without knowing what check each dialog option revolved around but i'm not sure the writing makes it that clear. I think i'm still gonna go ahead and do it because seeing which check each dialog has is extremely distracting. At some point it feels i might as well not read what the dialog says. I'm actually considering restarting with expert mode on so not to feel "compelled" to cheat by turning those quality of life options on.

You can hide all dialogue checks and prerequistites from the options menu. Thats how i played.

So the game just murdered my two first NPCs even after all the trouble i had to go through to safe the Thief. WTF.

Most games don't have that box + it should be the default unless your character can read minds or see the future.

iirc, this is how it actually works in ...Solasta? I think?

This site is addicted to metagaming.

Most people are given that this has been a standard feature for the past decade in most greater-than-garage dev RPGs featuring dialogue checks after they followed Sawyer's example in realizing it was actually a good idea.

More and more cheats are being enabled by default and lauded by this site as somehow being a good thing. It's disgusting.
Couldn't imagine why the genre is declining.

The average person who really wants these features isn't the type of person who will actually dig through the options menus to enable them. I don't care if they're on or off by default as long as they're there. :M
