Digimon Survive info. Why it was delayed, and some other interesting stuff. No release announcement for now.

There are also an article about fans wanting a port, remaster, or remake of the first Digimon World. He's undecided on what to do, but he's interested.

There's a third article about the next Digimon Story game. It's under development, but no real info is given. Takes place in the Digital World, and the Olympos XII are in. Seems failry far off.

Very interesting stuff.

“Also, since the target audience for this game is the adult fans who are game users, the story is a little darker. Since Digimon are described as half of one’s inner self, there are dark expressions that are not common in conventional Digimon works such as denying Digimon by refusing to face oneself, or hurting Digimon as a manifestation of self-harm. If you are a fan of the TV anime or other Digimon works, you may find some of the descriptions unpleasant, so please be aware of this in advance.”

Persona in my Digimon games? How can your self-hatred become a Digimon? Your teenager edgy poetry becomes self-aware? Wait, that would be hilarious.

Please tell more about the content of Digimon Survive.

Habu: “The game consists of text adventures and tactics battles, and the story is divided into chapters. As for the ratio of the game, the volume of text adventure and tactics battle is about 7:3, and the game is mainly text adventure.”

[...]

Habu: “Battles progress in a traditional tactics battle style. At the start of a battle you can select up to 10 units to join the battle. Battles are turn-based with the order of action determined by the speed of the units. When it’s time for your unit to take action, use the commands to choose your action. You can use ‘Move’ to move your units according to the squares on the field. The distance traveled and the ability to climb the height difference are different for each monster. If an enemy is within your attack range, you can attack them. The range of the attack really depends on the technique. The amount of damage varies depending on directional elements such as side, back attacks, height differences, compatibility of monster species, and compatibility of attack attributes.

“Monsters can consume SP to unleash their techniques and digivolve their units. Digivolving to a previously unlocked evolution will greatly enhance the performance of the unit, but it will continuously consume SP while digivolving. SP is gradually recovered each turn when the digivolution is unlocked and the unit returns to the growth phase. You can also recover SP by using items, talking with some partners, and getting support from your friends. SP is an important energy that can be used to your advantage in battle. So SP management is very important.”

[...]

How many routes will there be in the story? And under what conditions to the branches occur?

Habu: “There are 12 chapters in the scenario. And from chapter 8 onwards, the story branches into three routes: Morality, Harmony, and Rage. When you reach any one of the three endings of Morality, Harmony, and Rage, the secret route will be unlocked.”

[...]

How long does it take to complete Digimon Survive?

Habu: “Assume about 40 hours per route. It may vary depending on the level of difficulty and the use of the fast-forward function of the text. It will take about 80 to 100 hours to complete all routes including challenging elements and end content.”

Basically this is Devil Survivor 2.5: Now with Digimon!
Fitting since DS2 had not-Evangelion stuff, I guess. It also amy be a bit too long IMO.

It's funny, as Digis alternated from being Internet data given form, to ancient spirits/deities recycling themselves as Internet entities in order to keep on living, so to speak. Sometimes both.
Meanwhile, SMT is getting faggier and lamer every year.
Speaking of, remember how Arceus looked like a playable prototype for a better game? That's because it is! It's barely 3 years since Sword and Shield, but a new entry is coming, starring the goofiest and lamest-looking starters ever!

I wonder what's the RL-equivalent that the new region will use as inspiration. Mexico and Spain? Judging from the desert and the architecture, it could be the case.

Duck starter looks worse without the sepia filter on that thumbnail. Grass starter looks recycled and the only way to tell it's a grass type is color and leaf pattern of the face.

Official website confirms it's open world, which Arceus danced around only to confirm last minute it wasn't.
Various towns blend seamlessly into the wilderness with no borders. You’ll be able to see the Pokémon of this region in the skies, in the seas, in the forests, on the streets—all over! You’ll be able to experience the true joy of the Pokémon series—battling against wild Pokémon in order to catch them—now in an open-world game that players of any age can enjoy.

https://www.gematsu.com/2022/03/advance-wars-12-re-boot-camp-delayed-to-unannounced-date

Nintendo has delayed Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp from its previously planned April 8 release date to an unannounced date.

In a tweet, Nintendo said: “In light of recent world events, we have made the decision to delay Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, which was originally scheduled to release on Nintendo Switch on April 8. Please stay tuned for updates on a new release date.”

Gee, wonder why... maybe because Blue Moon nation is just bootleg rusian aggresors?
who knows

Jack Frost looks the same as usual, which is good. Unfortunately there was a new sin for Jack that looks hideous. Modern Atlus can't make anything that isn't Persona.
