Romancing SaGa Minstrel Song remake
let's go boys

What a fucking weird-looking game. Some of the scenes in this trailer straight up look like super low budget cgi from an early 2000s children's show or straight-to-video movie. That elf thing in the hallway especially, holy fuck.

Dungeon crawler series Class of Heroes is getting a strategy RPG spin-off, Adventure Academia: The Fractured Continent:

Steam page does not list English translation but it has English screenshots, trailer, and website, so probably a simple omission.

And they release Class of Heroes 2 remaster only on consoles?

Well at least their new (and seemingly much less animu) dungeon RPG is also coming in September.

Acquire is working on some kind of grid-based dungeon RPG and thinking about Tenchu revival.

Missed the weirdest part of Acquire's show: Akiba's Trip 2 is getting a new route via DLC. Wonder what else it will add.

Alright, so some good news and bad news. Dungeon Traveler 2 now has a SteamDB page. https://steamdb.info/app/1901630/info/

Bad news: ALLEGEDLY, it's already been banned. It comes from a spreadsheet list of games that have been banned on Steam so I'm not really sure how they exactly determine how a game got rejected but unfortunately given how inconsistent Steam has been in the past about lewd content, it wouldn't really surprise me at this point. But of all the fucking things, a game that was on the Vita at some point, fuck sake. Wouldn't be surprised if they tried to uncensor those four scenes and got rejected due to it. Wish slightly more higher profile JP devs would just go for places like JAST/MangaGamer for PC storefronts, it's not like a DRPG is going to sell amazingly to begin with...

So, for those that like Mother/Earthbound and derivatives, a video showing new games in that style, including playable demos, is out:

Links for each game in the video's description. One of the most interesting ones is a mod for Mother 3, done after so fucking long because it took ages to decode the game's spaghetti code. It lets you play as the bad guys! It's still somewhat clunky and awkward to play, but it's a good proof of concept. Don't expect alternate endings or anything like that though. On the plus side, since you play as mooks, the gameplay styles changes a bit as you're encouraged to pick your battles due your playable characters usually being weaksauce.

https://mother4ever.net/mother-3-opposing-force/

You'll need a "clean" Mother 3 ROM to play.

The headers went up on steam a few months ago, but no store page or hub. The same thing happened with Duel Princess, and some time later the developer declared that it was rejected

ethics committee wuz here.

Bandai is "celebrating" .hack series 20th anniversary and apparently plans to release a collection of the original 4 games, if the recent "Last Recollection" trademark in April is anything to go by.

What a missed opportunity if this turns out to be true.

Those games had interesting themes and a somewhat intriguing story back then but goddamn the gameplay was a very barebones hack'n'slash, terrible even for PS2 era, and were padded to the max with inane shit, so much you're better off reading an LP. A decent remake could solve all problems by combining IMOQ into 1 game while cutting down all the fat and providing a much better combat system.

I wish they would make a new game in the series.

The concept of MMO game where you interact with actual people with intelligent AI actually living in the game is very fun. I remember GU spawned a lot of "urban legend" of doing some convulted shit to unlock secret characters which are 99% bullshit but it makes me feel actually exploring the world. Well the magic wouldn't work today where video game guide and data mining is so prominent I guess :negative:

With none of the side titles and single player only according to the official website. I have no idea why they would do that. The only "new" feature appears to be a Chinese translation for the games, possible because text seems to be handled separately from the emulated game (note the totally different font for the English trailer). English footage shows they didn't even use this to fix a noticeable inconsistency in a series catch phrase, which doesn't bode well for the egregious typos and mistranslations that infest the fourth and fifth game. Doubt they'll be including the content cut from the English version of the sixth game for cart space either.
