RPGWatch was going to shut down - taken over by Taluntain instead!

I had the site bookmarked for news and possible future use but didn't know it was a Codex rival. Meh in peace I guess. Most of the posts here about it being woke forget that it isn't shutting down because of being broke from virtue signaling to people who only read pronouns, though it would be justice if it was.

To people complaining about the edginess / lack of moderation / politics talk; what's the big problem if you can ignore it? Its not that difficult to ignore it and keep your codex experience 100% gaming or possibly even 100% agreeing with you. And IIRC having a problem with someone existing is what's ''hateful''.

Seems rather juvenile to shut down a "successful" website when they could have transferred it to another person to continue operating it.

I think the RPGWatch will go on in one form or another; who will step down is Myrthos. He was at the helm for 20 years at RPGDot and RPGWatch. He has my respect for his work over all these years.

There's a happy medium between the concerns expressed and your too sanguine response to them, but I don't get ragging on Infinitron.

He works hard to keep this place going. If he's as clueless as the rest of his cohort I don't see much evidence of it.

Whatever you imagine getting done in the middle ground simply isnt going to get done here. Have fun. As for Infinitron, I dont know anything about the fella other than the news he posts. I think you need to quote and direct your comment about him towards the nutcase I was responding too.

Not only is is getting done I've been doing it. The cucked fatalism is at least as much of a problem as the histrionics.

I cut out the original too long rant but my comment was a general one not directed toward you personally.

infinitron is the one that does stuff like reducing ban lengths but people still shit on him because he's also the only mod that isn't permanently PMSing and therefore an easy target

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.

That's the problem as I see it: those people will have to go somewhere - I know rpg gamers: they aren't going to suddenly become self aware and venture off into the sunlight! They'll need some place to go... on their computer.

A misguided soul arrives at this doorstep with pockets full of money - their only crime? Being ill informed by their peers on politics, sexual identity, and rpgs. Currently the consensus here is to turn them away, treating them like garbage and giving them a kick in the ass on their way out the door! Sure, it may feel good for a few minutes, but that person will go to some other site rife with confirmation bias, and will die playing jrpgs or something. How could you do that to your fellow man?!

I'm saying that this place kind of owes it to those misguided folks to help them out - so far all I've seen are folks bringing their retarded opinions from the Watch and getting battered down. I expect this script to remain unchanged for the foreseeable future. It's a pity, as I'm sure there are folks whose opinions on games and life in general were shaped by the sites they visited before, but in their hearts, they are good people.

Any idea on how to capitalize on the disappearance of a competitors site? I'm not looking to change anyone's politics, just want to change enough people so they stop making shitty rpgs. Combining two main sites for crpgs really could have a serious effect.

it has always worked like this. ALWAYS. since the beginning of time. regardless. it's not a preferential treatment for anyone. hell, i had to fuck off (iirc) draq because according to him i was a shitposter because to me pretty much every new game was shit. back in 2008. how the turntables. good times when our only enemy was oblivion. it's a rite of passage. a fire baptism. if you can't take the heat, go bend for resetera.

This is justifiable under the role of the threshold guardian. You test someone's commitment to a quest by threatening or belittling them. If they give up, they weren't worthy. If they persist, it turns out that shouting tranny at someone actually helped them along on their personal hero's journey.

One thing you INGRATES seems to be ignoring is that the inevitable influx of wayward Watchers is going to possibly result in increased income for the server bills, which means this place might actually be around for a few more months.
