What, this game has UI whining too? Guys, the game has a 40 million dollar budget and it's not out yet. The UI is going to change. Many times.

Still excited for the game overall, but that dogfighting demo was abysmal.

On another note, I really want to be able to walk to the back mid-flight and eject myself out the side door of my plebeian Aurora. Since there is a big emphasis on physics in this game, I'm hoping that the immense pressure difference will cause me to shoot out the side as all the air rushes out.

The pax demo demonstrated 4 points to me:

1. The dogfighting is shit;
2. The UI is shit;
3. This game will not run or look like that on my computer, not even close;
4. This game look fucking amazing.

The sound of the crowd in that PAX video reminded me of this:

One bar isn't really an immense difference, the pressure differential between the inside and outside of an inflated tyre is greater than that.

Whenever you find yourself in doubt about the game, watch this:

... and cry that developers perfect dream, rarely (Read: never) comes into fruition. :negative:

Cool stuff though.... my spirit rose anew :incline:

Also, apply for the new C++ position (at the very end of the page):lol:+M.

Well that was as lazy a look at it as I was expecting. Was hoping for more outrage though :(

Time to sell those ships? Or is it too late? :troll:

Seriously though, the presentation at PAX was a complete fuck-up.

It's not too late. In fact, the "scalping" prices have only increased in the months I've been neglecting to pay attention to Star Citizen.

If I were to sell all of my current ships, with the profit alone I could buy a high-end gaming computer, an enormous high-resolution monitor, and a suite of fancy peripherals.

Of course I already have all of that, though my PC is aging and my monitor is relatively humble because I don't need something ludicrously massive and prefer a monitor I don't have have to swivel my head to see the entirety of.

For example, this is a completed eBay auction for the Idris-P Corvette. I have the Idris-M, which is a superior version for original backers. It would easily sell for $3,000; I paid $1,000 for it.

I paid $300 for my Vanduul fighter, it could easily sell for $1,500-$2,000 now:

These are old auctions, but obviously this kind of info is hard to find. In monitoring certain forums I know that there's still a brisk business in selling off pledge ships.

Thank you, now I have faith again!

Seriously though, Frontier done right would be the most awesome thing in history of mankind, and with VR goggles it will be mindblowing. Which one of them will be it, this or the Elite with the shitty byname?

So where does this stand compared to Elite: Dangerous? ED has combat working, docking buying/selling AI ships and a multiplayer server with 5 systems running last time I checked.

Elite is a game, though, not a federal mint for the purpose of printing currencies, like Star Citizen. Unfair to compare them.

I'm still toying with whether or not to resell my Vanduul Scythe, Idris-M Corvette, and Super Hornet for $4,000-$5,000 net profit.
