I've been playing this for 3 or 4 hours so far with a rifle-based street samurai and I've finished the first "main" quest. Mr. Kluwe is a bro.

Just finished it. Its a great tabet game, but an average PC game. I can see myself getting crazily addicted to it when some expansion (or mod) make it an open-ended game in the likes of the Genesis one.

Anywa, My favorite runner is the drunken-out mage. Combines the firepower of his shotgun with some mage tricks (like blindness), and he is cheap.

My decker... so far I haven't decked anything, and have already completed the flashback battle, another side quest battle dealing with some merchants, and a fight against some Halloweeners. The first fight was the toughest so far, while the next two battles were easier and I didn't bother healing in between.

The game is painfully linear and hand-holding when it comes to looking for items. I wanted to go inside the Seamstress Union early before exploring some of the alleys, but the game insisted I look for evidence in the alleys first. In the morgue, I couldn't search the place on my own, but had to wait for dialogue options, which then caused areas to be flashed with magnifying glasses instead of letting me search on my own. Also, there is quite a bit of karma bloat. I got two points of karma just for entering the Seamstress Union. o_O No tabletop GM would award 2 karma points for something as simple as entering a door.

Now here is the sad thing. This is a fun CRPG when I consider its recent peers. I like the character creation, mood, main story quest, and tactical turn-based combat so overall I would recommend giving it a go.

I didn't pay for it, as MightyHoax was being a bro and gave me a Steam key. Thanks again, MightyHoax!

It's still you because you can't figure out on your own how to fucking torrent a game.

Once I got past the fact it was more XCOM than a watered down ToEE I started really digging the game. I do wonder how much effort it takes to turn it into a real RPG with hub worlds and such in the editor... I have heard that semi-official mod campaign already on the workshop is a lot more open.

If I write my own campaign I will probably do a hub area with missions branching off it though. Seems to be the game they intended to make and how this engine and setup works best.

Good. Someday, and that day may never come, I´ll call upon you to do a service for me. But until that day, accept this gift as a random act of kindness. :bro:

I am actually really enjoying the game so far. Extremely linear so far, but I like the story - it´s like an interactive book with no multiple paths.

It is what it is, and I accept that

Strictly speaking, asking for torrent links is against the Codex rules, so you should be happy you weren't reported and sent to the reeducation camp.

Am I retarded or is there no "end combat mode"? I click "end" after I've presumably taken care of all baddies in the area and it just recycles back to the beginning (my character). What.

Sometimes it'll do that if there are enemies four rooms away hiding somewhere. It's very sloppily handled.

No. Nothing is better than NWN1. But, don't switch subjects. This thread is for Shadowrun. FOCUS IF YOU CAN. If you want to talk about NWN, either find a NWN thread or make one. This thread is SHADOWRUN RETURNS. DEAL.WITH. IT.

If there are any enemies left anywhere in the level it keeps you in combat mode. End just means end all turns and give the enemy their turn.

This is fucking pathetic.
Seems like many people over here are in denial at how shitty and disappointing this game is.

It just goes to show that the problem behind videogames is not really the publishers but the lack of creativity and bold ideas. I'm afraid Kickstarter has done nothing to change that.

There are actually some funny things about the main campaign that you can find in the editor.

Apparently, the raid on Telestrian's office was first supposed to be before hitting the Universal Brotherhood base. In fact, the raid was supposed to get Samedi killed and that would make Marie Louise butthurt enough to call Lynne to get her to the Brotherhood. There's one leftover of that still in the game - once you get to Telestrian's estate, there's a dialogue with M-L that says Samedi got busted during the run, completely out of the blue.

There are also traces of at least two full missions that got cut, and goddammit both actually sound kinda cool. One is after the UB infiltration, and I suspect has something to do with looking for Aegis samples? Looks like it's a Telestrian laboratory infiltration, with hacking cameras, using labcoats as disguises, etc. This is a set of 3 entire scenes cut from the game - the last in-game scene is labled c17, then there's c18 with cut dialogue, and then there's a gap until c21 which is again in-game. Whether c18-c20 were all one mission or three different ones is unknown

And then there's another one, which sounds fun as FUCK. One thing is that it mentions ghouls incoming. And the second is "do you want to place this turret here, y/n?", so it must be some sort of ghoul siege zombie apocalypse defence scenario. These are scenes labled 23-24, which is right before the final assault on the bug hive (25).

Apparently, the starting retrospection about the botched run with Sam was supposed to be longer as well.

There's also a handful of leftover cut dialogues floating there.

dammit

Man, if you want to be edgy, at least, do it by writing something interesting to read.
