The Solasta setting, on beginning I was expecting "not faerun due IP laws" but now, really liked a setting where humans are the osutider and a cataclysm made exploration really interesting and made the verticality far more important.
AD&D's Dragonlance campaign setting says "hello", especially the draconians, and especially the draconian Sivaks who possess shapeshifting abilities.

I think I already complained about it, but when it comes to soraks, this game has some of my least favourite tropes.

"Just ignore all this sorak talk, they're a myth."
Huh, I wonder if soraks turn out to be real halfway through the game, or if they'll subvert my expectations, and soraks turn out to actually be a myth. That would be fun. Oh. Oh, nevermind, soraks turned out to be real two minutes later after being called a myth.
Why even establish that nobody believes in them, if your very first mission has you fighting them.

D&D's Dragonlance campaign setting

2E has so many amazing settings. 3E only bough Eberron and 5E nothing officially from WoTC. I liked Solasta setting a lot, but would't put it above Mystara for example. Mystara has a lot of iconic places. One thing that I really wish to see in Solasta is a really large enemy.

Just imagine a aquatic heavy dungeon, where you face a colossal sea monster. That would be cool. Or a flying colossal monster, which you can target his wings to make him fall and take fall damage. The potential of this verticality on a tactical RPG...

How do you even game on a laptop?
I am able to nearly max out a modern 3d shooter on a laptop if I want (but I don't like 3d shooters so I don't care), and its attached to a 27 inch 1440p monitor....its not even like I bought the laptop recently, I bought it 2 years ago almost for like $1100, so it was not that much money... and its has a 1060 Geforce with 6gb Vid Ram and 16gb memory and a solid state drive, its totally fine for gaming. I used to only buy desktops for gaming, but since having this computer I am convinced I can game with a laptop just fine.

When I was a teenager, for a few years I only had a laptop if I remember correctly and it worked fine for gaming. I built a PC after it was too outdated, though. I wouldn't use a laptop for gaming now, not because they aren't powerful enough to run whatever I want, but because the screens are far too small. I'm used to 24 inch monitors now and my desk + chair set-up won't be comfortable with a laptop.

Just finished the game, good job Myzzrym and team, thoroughly enjoyed.
That patch you sneaked in today threw me for a moment, my characters suddenly looked like they had been baked in the desert for 50 years. The patch fixed the sell sword background quest though which let me finish - had been the one major bug encountered throughout. Was overall clearly still rough around the edges, but functional, and obviously is/will be smoothed, nonetheless it’s a diamond.

One side note - managed to get another tome clear of thought so my Wizard had 24 Intelligence at the end. Don’t know if that is intentional or not. Couldn’t use the Tome of Understanding even once though.

Lower levels were harder than higher levels, which was what I expected, but I tried not to rest much. Took roughly 45 hours to finish. Combat is the heart and soul here and so enjoyably implemented (in a cool 3 dimensions) to a mostly faithful degree. Itemisation seemed rather generous for some things and not for others - had lots of some things but seemingly none of others outside the stores. Admittedly I mostly held off buying or crafting things. Still my Paladin for example was using the same items at the end as he had been half of the game, and the Rogue ended up using the starting bow the whole way through. 3 Belts of Dwarvenkind seemed excessive but put to good and amusing use.

The ‘should not be in game’ scroll is still in the Arcaneum store.
The change to the Abjuration ring seems to stop everything working when used.

Narrative and npcs by contrast not the focus here but mostly serviceable and there are a couple fun moments, though often rather clunky ones too. Voice acting quality varies wildly. Would be interested to know how variable the personality tags ultimately are although that’s ultimately flavour. Setting has potential.

Was running out of save slots at the end there.

Will be interested to see what you guys do next, hopefully with more spells, classes etc.

Those are some quick thoughts anyway. Glad to be a backer.

I just plug my laptop into a large monitor, also plug a mouse and keyboard into the laptop and then it works like a desktop basically..and unplug it all and take it w/ me when I need to go somewhere..also I can have two screens if I ever want to, but it turns out I actually never do this really.

I put the laptop and monitor on a hospital table with wheels and wheel it around my room or house and it can wheel right over my bed even and I can use it in bed and watch movies or whatver, then wheel it all over to my desk..its super easy..

Is this game worth playing even though the chicks look like trannies?

It doesn't matter.

emphasis added. seriously. this place always talks about how the graphics don't matter until a company releases an awesome game... with graphics that aren't the greatest.

I like the environmental graphics, sue me. And character models most of the time are zoomed out enough that it doesn't matter.
(yes, I know, dialog close-ups, whatever)

Imagine short men with beards achieving anything in 2021.

Maybe manboobs.

Fuck dwarves.
Yup,dwarfs are disgusting, always exterminate them when i get the chance.

I don't think I have ever played a dwarf.

I'd imagine they would be accountants in real life.
Hmmm i have a few mates that are accountants, they are not such a losers to play dwarfs. I know of no person that plays dwarf. Who the fuck would want to play as a gimped greedy alcoholic that is butthurt about other people beating him so fucking much that he have a book about it? Also useless in combat....outside of leaving him behind to get eaten by the enemy.

Must be some kind of deformed ugly mutants that play them....maybe jews.
