^Imagine your "thanks/helpful" tag - have to wait a lil bit, if that hasn't changed. (2 weeks? if am not mistaken)

Is it worthwhile updating the OP? Maybe an equivalent table can be generated using Listeriabot instead.

Fuck me this music. Why did the old games have this much soul?

At first I thought it was nostalgia effect but when I replay Battle Bugs last year I finished it in one sitting, whole day. Fuck me, still remembered most levels.
The music, the UI and ye'olde cartoon fun really has it charms. Still smiled when diving beetle hit enemy bugs with his scuba tank

Make the Codex Great Again!

Does anyone remember Battle Bugs? Loved playing that back in the day.

Edit: It's available on steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1462210/Battle_Bugs/

Battle Bugs is one of the best strategy games I've ever played, though at times it felt like a puzzle game. But it did demonstrate you could take a silly, fun concept and make something with solid, if not deep, mechanics. The graphics and art style were really good too.

I am wondering besides what we have in the OP do we have other obscure X-COM clones?

Since the OP was not updated I know that we have Phoenix Point and Xenonauts 2 as well now. Anything else?

Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Codex+ Now Streaming!
This Singing they Pass thingy at least looks interesting (of course it got removed from Steam lmao). Days of Defiance makes me wonder how comes that whenever somedy tries to make a JA2 clone it just looks worse in every way and whereas JA2 had fun and quirky characters, the ones here just look retarded. Its a mystery.
