Todd's first coming was either Terminator: Future Shock or Redguard depending if you only want stuff he was the project leader on. Get out of here you casual.

sexy ladies of Starfield.

Not too bad, despite the less flattering facial expression.
Don't worry this is version one, they've already gone and made her less black. In the process of doing so they made her look more like she could star in The Crying Game:

Could be the lighting, but the cheeks look flatter as well. More Indian and less African now? I'm sure the final version will be made uglier, that seems to be the modus operandi these days. Bait and switch.

To elaborate, I like both Indian and African women IRL, and wouldn't mind seeing more of them in games (where it makes sense). But adding characters for ideological reasons is never acceptable, and the Woke version of "black" is just as awful as everything else they defile. Does that clear things up?

Somehow, I don't see humans colonizing the galaxy at all.
we are brutal creatures, human instinct is all about conquering, be it knowledge or territory. taking care of offsprings is a means to conquering territory. given the chance, half the population would just "fuck it" and move to the other side of the galaxy just because.
Settling pleasant Earth-like planets makes perfect sense; but most of the galaxy is just emptiness, radiation and barren rocks. Surely a brutal creature would prefer to conquer some nice part of Earth instead?

Are you feeling it, that tingling in your wallet? The closer the release date the stronger it becomes!
It's not gonna go away, you know it, I know it, so let it happen, it's fate, it is inevitable.
You will be lighter of 99.99$, it is true, but you will then bathe in St Todd Radiant Smile.
Embrace it, let it happen, Todd watches over you.

Why waste 30 USD on a 5-day early access when the week 2 experience will be much more polished?

Then again I funded the totality of my BG3 Collector's Edition purchase by selling my Star Citizen ship and got 70 bucks on top of that by selling the dice skin DLC key, so you probably have a point.

instinct goes deeper than logic. look at magellan's expedition, for example.
That's what I meant, Magellan very logically tried to find the sea route to the known riches of the East Indies (since the Silk Road was blocked). He wasn't looking for uninhabitable places, like the Antarctic explorers.

so pretty much confirmed that this game isn't coming with dlss or xess. guess nvidia and intel users have to wait until somebody implements a script extender so they can be implemented.

Feel like this needs to be expanded to:

"As with all modern video games, playing them within 3 months of the listed release date before the "open beta" ends and it's patched is a complete mistake."

The best thing you can do when one of these games drop is to forget it exists and go back to playing something else for a year.

That’s going to be a barebones implementation at best. DLSS works the best when finetuned on game data and I’m fairly sure that frame generation uses ground truth optical flow calculated in-engine in a way that won’t be necessarily straightforward to imitate with mods.

DLSS isn't trained on a game-by-game basis. You can only finetune settings for your specific implementation for your specific game but not much more than that.
A DLSS/DLAA + XeSS Skyrim mod already exists and it appears to work perfectly fine.

Seeing how most DL stuff works it’s safe to guess that they have a base model trained on a lot of data from many games and then they finetune with some data from newer games, or maybe they train every new version of the model with the data of all supported games. Regardless of the approach, the fact is the model won’t have seen any data from Starfield so specific issues might show up. Probably not that noticeable, though, if you say that Skyrim looks fine with it.

Wish we could say the same of framegen.
