The idea might be that if a boss is clearly using magic to hurt you, you probably should expect he/she/it has magic resistance. (I think.)
No, damage was fine, i was just wondering if it was supposed to be a wuss boss or just that sorcerers might have an advantage over pure melees on it. After Capra it felt faceroll-ish (same one shot for Gaping dragon, quelaag and i'd one shot Sif if i didn't decide to rush and cast one extra GHSA instead of rolling back and waiting for attack). For all it is worth, this game teaches patience and self-control above all.

Is multiplayer on PC disabled for good? This is terrible.
Maybe you (and me too) are playing it in offline mode, i can't even summon NPCs for some weird reason (and no, i was human when i approached Gaping and some other bosses). I dont even see summoning signs.

Yeah, sorcerers have advantage there, true. Also, if you're not hollow, you can help by summoning a computer NPC witch that can actually then appear later (I always enjoy such small touches). Summoning her makes the fight easy even for pure melee chars.

Alright bros, i started playing yesterday with m&k. Killed Taurus, Gargoyles without any problem. I admit that i was wrong and using controller does not any significant advantages. Only camera controls are fucked up(with controller they're not any better lol).

There's a mouse fix (DSmfix I think) that fixes the camera a bit.

M+KB is cool to me.

Online is back up and working. But if you can't even see npc summons while in human form then something is seriously wrong.

Yeah i guess so. But i just ENDURE and trudge on. I freed the mage guy from the cage and he does not appear in Firelink, is something amiss or i need to go to that stupid snake nest again? Is there a shortcut to Anor Londo, apart from going to the golem's final resting place again. And yes, online was back after i enabled 'steam cloud' or whatever it is called in game settings, now i can see the other players' hints and shadows.

Big-Hat Logan (the mage) should have gone to Firelink after you freed him. There is a shortcut through Sen's Fortress but no other way until after you beat the first boss in Anor Londo.

Man blue Phantom invading is impossible at low levels, very few players have sinned yet. Red Phantom is limited because of the crack red eye orbs and I still don't have any transient curses to be able to go to new londo and fight the four kings.

No one ever indicts anyone in DS1 because it gives the invader evidence to consider you butthurt, and that was the intended mechanic for people to accrue sin to be targeted by Darkmoons. The only people you will ever blue invade are newbies that don't know how sin for killing NPCs and changing covenants works. They will have like 1 sin a piece at most, meaning you'll invade them once, clear their sin by killing them, then have to wait for the next newbie to come along. So don't bother.

The servers are up and working and have been for a few days now. Prior to the one week interruption they've always been up.

"Classes" merely dictate your beginning stats & equipment. They quickly become whatever you want them to be.
You gain a lot more equipment during the game, and can easily influence the way your stats grow in, so don't worry too much about the starting class.

Thank you! I did choose a Knight because I read it's suppose to be easier on the first play. Still can't believe how great the game looks after so many years.

Yeah NPC summons should be in there even in pirated version. Nothing to do with online
No idea why i dont see them, maybe i did something really wrong in the start of the game - i'm not even sure what i did, i started playing it back in 2012, then i "lost" saves (i guess it was GWFL bug) and decided not to restart. Few weeks ago i found by accident that actually nothing was lost, and started over. Also, i aggroed and killed the onion knight at sen's fortress in the start by mistake, maybe i need to get absolution (or how is it called, i think i didn't get to that part of game yet) to get the summoning signs. Bad Phantoms (Kirk and some butcher barby) spawn just fine, it seems.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
bought it today. Really hope that I can have an online experience and they won't discontinue. There are a lot of players that hate DS2 or can't play DS3 because of the PC.
Is this a good way to check the servers? https://steamdb.info/app/211420/history/
Any advice of a class for a noob? Is the warrior or knight a viable class to play until the end?

Definitely go online. I bought DS1 a month ago and went offline because I was worried about all those spoilers I saw people leaving around in YT videos but online experience is vastly superior, despite a couple of spoiled ambush spots or illusory walls (these things are retarded anyway since there's often no indication and the only way to discover them is to roll along every wall like an idiot.)

Don't be afraid of invaders either, they'll smack you around at first but they'll teach you valuable combat lessons. If you're not a chronic butthurtfag it's a lot of fun.

As for the class, if you want the game to be easy on the first playthrough go with a mage. If you want it to be much harder but also much more fun go with melee.

I actually find online far worse for a first playthrough because all the messages spoil so much even if you don't read them.

2 handed Iaito + Elite knight armor + FAP ring (originally Havel ring but w/ enough End switch it) + whatever other ring = EPIC FRIGGING WIN. The game was so easy that for a moment I thought I was playing Fallout 3.

There are no classes. Choice of class only determines the starting point. Your stats and items you have. The absolute easiest start is pyromancer with a gift of Master Key. Decent starting stats + you are lv1 which means raising levels will be much cheaper from start. No shame in choosing that for first run, you'll die plenty regardless. :D

Elite Knight Armor's a very good set with a good balance of physical and magical protection, weight and poise.

Pretty much. Starting as a Thief will give you the Master Key for free, so you can get another item (I'd suggest the ring that allows you to talk to spider waifu). Others are easily replaced, duplicates of other items or useless.
