Is this one of those games where the difficulty is locked or can I up it later if it becomes too easy

Ok, I've put 15 hours into it, and I think I'm going to shelve it. It's an ok game - mechanics are solid and levels are fun to explore - at those rare moments when you're actually allowed to do that and not railroaded from fight to fight by the main quest. Could have done without the quest markers and plot-gated areas - really, really could have done without those. It's also rather inconsistent - caves can be accessed way before you get the potion/umbrella quest, but graveyard stays locked until that moment - why? There's a core of a proper dungeon crawler in there, but it's ruined by all the modern conventions.
I'd have finished it if it lasted for 5 more, but quick googling shows that I'm not even halfway through, and that's a time investment the game simply isn't worth. I'm actually kinda disappointed - it was my most expensive purchase at the Xmas sale.

Does it have good C&C?
Character progression includes a different slate of skills, both active and passive, for each character, and each character is able to add an additional skill on both the active and passive sides when leveling up. Since there are a considerable number of options available, most of which are useful, the player is forced to make tough choices as to how each character develops, which can considerably alter how the character used in combat.

Furthermore, aside from the initial seven characters, the player also chooses an eighth character from the options of priestess, bard, or paladin, each of whom operates distinctly from any other character. Since the player is locked into this choice for the rest of the game, it requires careful consideration of all relevant factors.

Yeah the humour is a little hit or miss. I think it's way better in the native French, although you really have to appreciate French humour in order to get it. The American voiceovers are competent but lacking somewhat in verve, and this is just a personal thing but I think they sound out of place in a fantasy setting like this

There are good and useless skills, not much choice for any class except for Wizardress.
(always go for control, than damage).

It's neither french humor nor better in french.
With the internet, humor has no borders anymore.

Also, they said themselves they draw their inspiration from the gaming scene and american movies/culture (for example : BG 2, back to the future, Terminator, ...), here is an interview, in french, you can find more if you search a bit.

That's for the audio series and the game comes from this melting pot (for the better but mostly the worse)

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
You can like the game despite the humour. It's a good enough game. The humour isn't great, but it also doesn't make want to thrust a spear into my ears.

but mostly I'm doing [tabletop] role-playing game humor and role playing games haven't changed...when people are around a table to have fun, we encounter this ambiance where we try to do serious things, which don't work, then everything goes to shit in a fun way.

How the fuck do you pronounce this game's name correctly?
