Are any of those games even RPGs lol? Seems primarily console stuff.

The insecurity about gaming might be a projection about their own insecurities about their identities and the company they keep. These kind of people are always trying to normalize their sick fetishes to the public.

Just a reminder they gave an award to a furry in the past.
One pinned comment with a lot of upvotes complaining about all the normal people calling this shit out, then nothing but comments with little to no upvotes supporting this guy. As someone mentioned earlier you can tell from comments and chats, even with all the censorship, that barely anyone actually likes this shit.
Honestly all the dorito pope and cringey shit from when they were on fx/spike whatever channel was closer to their audience than all this shit they have been doing since they went "legit".

The most west that list goes is Poland. Even the Game Awards itself acknowledge anything to the west of that is doomed.
I even dont know why Cyberbug is on this list, I remember CDPR was even embarrassed of calling their cinematic interactive media experience a RPG and changed the official genre of the game for action adventure game so normies wouldnt need to hyperventilate with the possibility of they being triggered by demanding gameplay.

Depressing. I'm reading this thread for the cliffnotes and I don't see anything exciting. I remember years past where I disagreed with various award winners in various shows, but this time I have no idea what 90% of anything is. And I don't give enough of a shit to Google it. I'm sitting half a metre away from a nice gaming PC I put together piece by loving piece, yet the last AAA game that got me enthusiastic was Cyberpunk 2077 and look how that turned out. I'm using an RTX 2070 to play Arx Fatalis, for fuck's sake.

I feel this. Nothing like booting up some ancient turn based game and marvelling at your steady 200+ fps that means nothing for it.

One of the benefits of poverty dev is that I will never suffer the shame of having one of my games on something as lame as this.

didn't watch lol

Anything good get announced?

Somerville looked promising.

Good art direction on that one. Anybody know what kind of game it is? "stylish sci-fi adventure" is about as vague as it gets.

The vagueness is probably its strongest point. I don't need everything to have checkboxed as long as I know there's brain and heart put into the game.

Vagueness is a marketing tactic. It lends a product more mystery than it otherwise would have. Like Death Stranding.

In-game mystery is good. Marketing mystery is lame.

And with Limbo and Inside it was one and the same. I buy into Somerville for now because Dino Patti seems like a man dedicated to meticulous quality.

Ahhh, I thought it was produced by someone from Playdead. Not surprised. Didn't know Patti left.

According to the wiki, Somerville is a third-person adventure game, so not side-scrolling.
