I am more curious about whether or not they got proper QA with Microsoft money. It will be interesting to see how all that wonderful people who payed 1$ for the game will drown Obsidian in bug reports and bitch at the Reddit about slow patching. I do not remember any of their games having so much exposure to a randoms, unaccustomed to trademark bugginess.

Grab the Codex by the pussy Strap Yourselves In Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
I doubt Netflix is going to make preservation of TV series and films a thing of the past.
These are vastly different scenarios. Also film/TV preservation is taken a lot more seriously than game preservation.

Dude Microsoft themselves are cheap with QA, they fired their Windows QA team in 2014 to save money.

They are planning on DLC for this or no? I'll probably play through the game on xbox pass at launch but if the steam version came w/ potential dlc included that would be F I E R C E

If the game sells well enough, certainly Obsidian will make some dlc. They support their games post launch really well even flops like Deadfire.

DLC means working with PD(probably), would MS want that instead of the team focusing on "their" sequel?

Stop sucking Microsoft's cock, you fucking degenerates. This subscription crap is a slippery slope, before you know it publishers won't release perpetual versions of video games anymore and game preservation will become a thing of the past.
game preservation already involves cracking games due to faulty DRM that no longer works on modern windows versions

Obsidian said multiples times that PD is doing the QA for this one.

Obsidian's recent releases have been mostly fine with regards to QA. No worse than the industry average, anyways.
yes everything declined so much when it comes to QA obsidian is the norm now.
meh
I remember buying NWN2 at release and it was basically unplayable. Crashed constantly, meshes kept disappearing, entire maps would disappear, etc.,

TBF NWN2 was in a class of its own. Or maybe one it shares with VtM:B

Sounds pristine compare to today "early access" era. We will soon look back in time and see obsidian as a paragon of bug testing and QA. Had they released those games now , people would defend them " Dude you understand what early access mean? " steam forum style.

I don't really know where to post this but it's so cool that like 20 years later Tim and Leonard are still bff's and get to make another fallout game with The Outer Worlds!

If you only want to play Outer Worlds, buy 4 month subscription for several dollars and play it during the time. Then later buy it when it comes out at Steam with all the DLCs(and a deep price cut).

But chances are the XGP will have some game you want to try out but never buy.

Would be cool if that game was Epic game store exclusive, right now its not controversial enough , not enough buzz.

I just want to be able to buy a game and get a direct download link to its installer. Is that too much to ask for?

Epic doesn't add any DRM of their own, so there's a chance it will be DRM free there. No installer, but close as you can get. Watch Microsoft put Denuvo or some shit on it though.

Fixed that for you. Microsoft really couldn't care less about Epic sales and any decision related to distribution is primarly Private Division's.

I know that isn't relevant at all but it's was announced that Fallout New Vegas is coming for Xbox Game Pass one week (October 17th) before The Outer Worlds releases.
