No shit I said that in the thread, I said it's a dummy-proof thing and I think it's fucking dumb. The only game where I've ever misclicked in a turn-based game was Expeditions Conquistador, because the mouse's position relative to the units/hexes weren't quite right. In a grid based game it should be pretty darn hard to fuck up clicking.

Another thing designed for fucking idiots instead of people who are competent and can into controls, and as a result it compromises the uniformity of the controls ... and they even replicate it in exploration as well to make it worse.

The camera and movement control scheme is fine as far as I'm concerned. Takes around two minutes to get used to. Not every game has to control the same way, You know.

Indeed, but these controls with their segregation of actions are redundant and stupid.

I have no problem switching from Baldur's Gate (left click style) to Warcraft 3 / Starcraft 2 / DotA2 (right click style), but this in-between-ness is retarded.

It's the same as how RTSes work. Starcraft, Dawn of War, Age of Empires all had left click select, right click move.

Now I'm having this discussion with Sensuki on two different forums, shit's getting confusing.

Yes it is, but in combat it's right click move and left click attack - which is specifically what I was talking about in the above post - which I think is fucking dumb.

The only reason I suggested the one button style is because of how bad the camera is.

How it's dumb if it follow the *same* logic/rules? Right click still moves. What's the problem?

tuluse is a noob... or your ui is shit... or a meaningful combination :troll:
I think the combination is what happened. There is a portrait showing you who is speaking, you click that and then get a menu to select who you want the speaker to be. It's not clear that the portrait is a button, but once you know it works fine.

I think I'm going to do a write up of how I feel about the interface (non-aesthetic version) tonight.

Sounds to me like the problem is that both the camera and the controls are more like a RTS game like Total War or Warcraft...perhpas the best camera for this kind of game would be like the one used in Freedom Force
Oh and what the hell is wrong about the graphics? They seem more than fine to me, definetly not state of the art but more than adequate for this sort of game and well withing my expectations for a kickstarter game

The graphics are just fine. Any complaining about them is the worst kind of nit picking.

I am quite shocked that about 18 h after the beta is published, there are only few reviews. And so much whining about the secondary issues, which are sure to be changed?

What sort of reviews? The game wasn't pre-released to anybody except a select few. There hasn't been time for reviews.

To be fair a complete playthrough plus a cogent review at this point would have required someone doing nothing but since the initial launch. The early beta is pretty long.

Infiltron, MarkMarkland-> I mean an early review. Some people here have already posted their first impression about the atmosphere, quality of combat and writing. Having a general feeling after 5 h of gameplay isnt nothing strange to demand of. I think usually we judge games even earlier.
I just barely can wait! Yes, I am overexcited and have barely slept today waiting and watching stream. Music is great ! But it is like watching somebody playing chess not knowing how all the pieces are moving.
Markland, does the new info about beta playthrough time also show 10 -12 h, now??

The autoheal seems perfectly fine to me; here is an example of streamlining where istead of pulling the health pack for everybody it allows you to focus on just playing.
On the whole action points deal I have 3 issues;
You should have a sistem where you are allowed 2 action per turn regadless of whic action it is, it can be moving on one range or two, or moving and firing, reloading and firing or just fireing twice
Changing or using any item counts as an action and no access to exchanging gear between partu members during combat
Oh and where is the overwatch?
Xcom had this sort of system down pat do you don't have to think if an action is fair or not or worth the action points it costs; 2 action points per turn, every action costs one and getting lucky might give you an extra action or % bonus

Wait... people are complaining about using WASDQE to move the camera around? That is literally the easiest way to do it. You want to move the mouse all the way to the edge of the screen and use some click and drag method to rotate and move? That is some tablet shit right there. Edge panning is not better than moving the camera with WASD.
