Why the hell would she go through the trials when she already has cosmic level powers of wrapping space and time. lmao

The trailer is pre-rendered in a custom build of Unreal Engine 5 on an unannounced NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU. Powered by the same tech that The Witcher IV is built on, using assets and models from the game itself, it aims to provide players with a cinematic look at the kind of experience the game is aspiring to provide. The trailer was created through a close collaboration between CD PROJEKT RED and Platige Image, who are no strangers to The Witcher universe, having been responsible for intro cinematics in the previous installments of the series.

In other words that trailer was 100% nothing burger. IT is exact same thing as this:

this.

I followed W3 development religiously back in the day, haven't done the same for any other game, now this is like another horizon gaym to me; zero interest after seeing what this industry does with games with female protags, besides I don't play RPGs with female main characters anyway, can't identify with em. Have fun shitting on this in the coming years, ima out.

For anyone considering Witcher 4 might be a good game once it gets out, remember that CDPR promised everything and delivered nothing once the release of Cybercuck arrived. You're welcome.

Here my child. Let me mutilate you, make you infertile and give you job where people will spat on you and hate you.

YOU DESERVE IT.

I'm sure he meant it from an outside the world perspective. "Being a witcher is cool and Ciri deserves to be as cool as a Witcher", that kind of thing.

(...) In other words that trailer was 100% nothing burger. IT is exact same thing as this.

It's practically the same story except the ending is more grimdark, Ciri couldn't save the girl whereas Geralt could.

Yeah, no.

I won't buy games with female protagonists or read fantasy books written by females or with female protagonists.

So basically I don't have to play new games or read new books at all. Hooray.

Retards at Cuck Donkey Project Red have long since forgot what the essence of TWitcher setting is. A magical Mary Sue certainly isn't it.

Codex Year of the Donut I helped put crap in Monomyth
There are so many things wrong with that trailer.
- A peasant trying to grab a witcher by the shoulder like if was nothing when witchers are supposed to be feared by the commonfolk like freaks.
- Ciri acting like an asshole for no reason whatsoever when she was raised by Geralt to be mostly easy going.
- Her design is now bulkier and heavy, when her fighting style is supposed to be flexible and lithe.
- DRINKING a potion AFTER combat starts instead of BEFORE.
- Telling the girl she is supposed to save to fuck off instead of reassuring her.
- Defeating a monster twice as big as her with BRUTE force instead of wit or luck. Not even Geralt could do that.
- The worst part is the ending. In an attempt to "subvert expectations" they show the girl she was trying to safe gets killed by the peasants instead of the monster. But only shows Ciri as incompetent.

If she wanted to save the girl, why didn't she take measures for that instead of telling her to fuck off? In contrast Geralt successfully saved a girl of being hanged and killed a demon without causalities in similar situations. And that line about Gods not existing? Shit's looking bad.
And that is with being confirmed that GODS LITERALLY EXIST IN THE SETTING, with Nivelen or whatever was the guy's name being cursed by a priestess of Lion-Headed-Spider and guy in other story opening a portal.

But you identify with Geralt, a widely despised monster killer?

Anyway, a Polish game being anti-religious is not necessarily woke. I remember during my college days, back in the 2000s, Polish Erasmus students (especially girls) were all super anti-Catholic, on the account of how powerful and corrupt the church was in their country. It gets tiring fast but I believe it is something they genuinely feel strongly about. I still have hope that, unlike Bioware games, Witcher 4 will try to tell a story that makes sense within its universe and not use the pseudo-medieval aesthetics as a background for characters arguing (or rather making banal declarations of faith) on issues that zoomers from California tend to obsess over.

Noi it isn't. Trailer you linked is not generic pos, it perfectly encapsulates The Witcher atmosphere.

I'm seriously starting to think that entertainment should be regulated, like food additives or something...

Maybe we should add +1% to income tax for every sequel number?

I hope the game is about the struggles Ciri faces during the witcher transition process and there is no combat and the main quest is about trying to find and afford required mutagens in an uncaring medieval healthcare system. Final boss needs to be Geralt where Ciri does not fight but berates him for grooming her to be a witcher, which is a profession tainted by toxic masculinity. There should be side quests where you can either donate your mutagens to the Zerrikanian refugees who needs em more than you or you get the evil ending to cover C&C aspect. Man I should write games.

herold is part of patriarchy so he playing on ez mode.

That's one way to read it. I was thinking how it was a weird choice of a trailer if the game is going present Ciri does everything right. So perhaps there's hope yet. This is probably copium on my part but I'll reserve judgement for the moment.

Most of the games in Poland are being made in cities where people from Eastern Territories (Kresy) brainwashed by Soviet propaganda were resettled, so the anti-Church sentiment is very strong there. People in general don't really care about the Church or Catholicism for many years now, despite what some Westerners might think, but the weird, deep hatred and seething is mostly unique to those forementioned areas.

It was either that or custom vitiligo-nigger-troon witchers with pronouns. Anyone who expected any different from AAA CDPR game reveal in 2024 is delusional.

Everything about what they announced sounds incredibly cheap and tacky. I mean even ignoring the obvious DEi issues aside making the person who saved the world from a cataclysmic cosmic world ending event a main character who just goes from bumfuck village to village solving small scale monster quests is a weird mishmash. This is not good story telling. Nothing will feel real or earned. Why would you care about this small quest in that village there, when you already saved the entire world and plane from a doom prophecy?
