The Dark Project centered around the Pagan faction and their dark god.

The Metal Age took on the Hammerite faction by setting us against the intrigues of one of their heretical confession.

Deadly Shadows showed us the inner workings of the Keeper faction and explored the politics, laws and rites of this shadowy order.

This one's about whua?

Oh shit can you imagine that?

A game funded by millionaire publishers with a secret message from the devs indirectly saying how fucked up the industry is, apologizing for not being able to deliver a good experience due to "streamlining" and asking for help?

According to a friend who works on assets for various EM projects, Thi4f should be playable at the Gamescom. Any bros in the vicinity to sacrifice themselves?

With the apparently in-depth hands-on information MT has been spewing, he obviously works for EM in some capacity.

I seem to recall that guy is studying game design with hopes of joining EM in the future, so it's not really a surprise he's defending them the best he can. Brethren from TTLG called him out on that once and he did not appreciate it.

I sincerely dont envy b1skit's job. No wonder CoyoteGrey quit.
Of course that the big boys from Squeenix (which is a censored word in the forums btw) noticed that the game got some bad rep on the internet. And guess whose ass is on the line? That's right, B1skit's. Maybe he agrees with us - maybe he knows that the game is pure shit. But then, he signed a contract that says he's Squeenix's Official Bullshit Preacher so he cant agree with us. Hey, maybe even he has an account here in the Codex. Maybe he's me. Or you! Posting his true opinions on the game under an anonymous account.

Or then he's a brainwashed loonie like Viktoria.

The industry is going to shit in Canada right now, but there are still far better options out there than Eidos Montreal. Even with the success of DE:HR, it's still regarded as a studio where the rejects who couldn't hack it at the "big names" end up. Ubisoft, Rockstar, etc.

A reputation which is justifiable when you look at the mobygames profiles for some of the shitlords working on Thi4f. Master Taffer is dumber than I gave him credit for.

While b1skit is just doing what he is paid to do, that doesn't change that he's willingly employed as an astroturfing shill. The lowest of the low in any field.

The friend I was talking about earlier (who gave me some juicy info recently too) worked with several teams inside EM and he told me Thi4f's is by far the worst. The lead developers don't give a shit about the game/are total pricks and the atmosphere inside the studio is horrendous. All of the staff groups hate each others' guts and now that the game is almost finished it's even worse. The only cool dudes in the team according to him are the level designers, apparently.

Yeah...would look better if they decided to use actual fucking darkness instead of that blue fog.

I wonder if EM expected this kind of fan backlash.

I think they went a bit too much towards Dishonored/Victorian England, but generally the graphics are their least problem (maybe with the exception of the fog ;) )

In regards to the screenshots. It is SUCH A SHAME the game is shit, because the two indoor screenshots are looking fucking nice. (I bet they'd look even better without the obnoxious fog).

When you focus all of your money and effort on making a "Cinematic Experience", that's exactly what you get. A "game" that is prettier than a peacock visually, with gameplay shallower than the piss dribbles under the studios urinals.

I thought CoyoteGrey got pushed off to do marketing for Sleeping Dogs ?. No wonder the marketing for that game was shit.

They say "immersive full body experience", but why the hell does Garrett walk around with his hands in front of his face all the time? It looks even sillier than in Miasmata, and that game was made by two people ffs.

First post from Azazel's link said:
Ugh. I hate what I have become from this. Bitter and suspicious and negative. And the community as a whole all comes off this way, which damages our credibility and provides justification for the devs to ignore our concerns as rabid ranting. And the awful truth is that it's Eidos that made us this way, with their long silence interpreted as disinterest and disrespect. And when they finally broke that silence it was to confirm our suspicions that we were not being listened to and in fact the game was not being made for us at all.

Eidos is not suddenly going to start listening to our wishes or addressing our concerns. I think if we all try to accept that then we will stop being disappointed and angry and maybe we can break the cycle.

This sounds like something from DX:HR pre-release. It's a shame the Thief fans didn't figure out their beloved franchise was going to get raped just like Deus Ex. System Shock's about due for a good raping isn't it?
