This stupid fight is literally impossible if you're playing as a squishy crossbowman-trapper.

Yeah, I remember my Crossbows + Traps playthrough.

"Butthurt" doesn't even begin to describe my state of mind. Never again. Strangely, I can't locate my most entertaining rants, but I did pinpoint the moment when Styg decided to nerf AR bursts and invent unconditional special attacks (might not even be a joke):

I have nearly 200 points in Crossbows and 13 Per and I'm constantly missing targets from 5-10 meters.

Yep, that's Crossbows for you. Crossbows sorely need an inherent scope slot, like sniper rifles, in order to be on par with all of the other weapon categories in the game. A standard scope providing +10% additive accuracy would be a Godsend. It's ludicrous that such a short-range weapon suffers from such low accuracy, Evasion or no Evasion.

Do note that in some particularly dark areas, using night vision can substantially improve your chance to hit.

Crossbows frankly suck, even with most/all crossbow-specific feats. They have synergy with traps, but the thing is, Opportunist is more than enough trap synergy when paired with a gun rather than a crossbow. Any gun category save pistols is far more powerful than crossbows when you've got most/all of the relevant feats. Assault rifles in particular pretty much kill two enemies per turn, and possibly three, once you're up there in levels and feats.

My q120ish Chimera can deal 500+ damage FROM ONE BULLET (out of 7) if it crits during a burst attack. One bullet!

had only one casualty. Didnt do anything besides dropping frag mk3 and flashbangs(with grenadier). With savages low armor frags shred them...

I'm doing exactly the same, except I have MkIVs.

The thing is, I didn't realize that I needed to babysit anyone. This bitch is supposed to be some badass, but then dies in the first fight?

Well, that's what she gets for taking Dodge and Evasion. :deadhorse:

I need help. I've found Cornell in the Core City's sewers. What should I do next? Please spoiler the answer.

I've promised Cornell's head to Simmons but then I've decided to let him go. Now my game is fucked and I'm afraid that I will have to redo 2-3 hours of gameplay.
I did the same thing and just went back and told Simmons I couldn't find him. He believes you and you complete the quest.

It doesn't work for me. The quest doesn't solve itself.

Edit: I was able to get the quest reward. For some reason the game decided to crap on me.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Anyone found a use for the Broken-Off Spike yet?

So uh

There's a place in mid-late game where you enter a sci-fi looking warehouse area, and you find the person you're looking for all alone. You talk to them triggering a warehouse lockdown and a shitload of enemies coming in waves. There's an exit north end and south end. Anyone remember where the hell this is?

I just remember having some epic fights there in 2015

At this point I feel we could use a separate list of "favorited" crafting recipes for those most commonly used.

Wow, it's genuinely pissing me off a bit now. I honestly have no idea what bugged out. I remember putting on the uniform when I was first there and everything, but they were always hostile. I figured it just had something to do with me being stealthed. I had no idea I missed fucking content because of this. God. Fucking. Dammit. I've played for a two full fucking days since this.

Edit: Yup, even loaded up my save from just before I hand in the mineral oil, and I'm even wearing the officer's uniform, and everyone is hostile, same as they ever were.
Yup. That, right there, I think, is your problem. Like normie pointed out, if you got detected while in stealth, they'll be hostile to you. Regardless whether you're wearing their uniforms or not. Just tried it now, had my officer uniform on. Went to stealth, then got detected on purpose, and the one who detected me immediately turned hostile. Yeah, you probably turn someone's detection red without noticing it, and it turns the entire zone hostile.

Is anything even at the end of the marsh areas behind Port Crag? Because I am not doing that shit.
Some oddities, and I got a unique shotgun there. Still, the area is pretty obnoxious, it's basically the Labyrinth of the Black Sea. At least it's optional.
It was pretty unique experience, though. I landed my jetski right at the edge of the marsh. When I came out at the other end, which is LEMCO, I contemplated on my current situation and realized I'm fucked because to retrieve my jetski I had to backtrack all the way. Thankfully, I noticed that LEMCO is connected to the pirate outskirts, and they happened to have a scrapjet at the dock. While in stealth, I stole the jetski and drove all the way to where my jetski's at, being extra careful not to get too close to any pirates. Upon arriving at my jetski, I finally noticed that the landmass of the marsh is.... actually connected to Port Crag, which means I could've just leave the scrapjet in the basalt region that's connected to Port Crag, without having to drive all the way around the Horticultural Center. And so I reload, ride the scrapjet only up to the basalt region near Port Crag, walk on foot from there on, then retrieved my jetski.

That felt good.

can someone explain to me real time movement speed? Is it affected by armor penalty?
Definitely. There's an obvious difference between wearing a leather armor and a metal armor when moving in real-time.

You know, it occurred to me the other day that the most difficult opponents when I played through the game as full psi were other psi users, specifically the mall dwellers. They were the toughest fight in that playthrough for me.

Now that I'm playing through again as a low-Will, non-stealth melee character, I've realized that psi users are even deadlier to non-psi characters, so deadly in fact that you often must kill them before they can act if you have any hope of surviving. The conclusion is that full psi dominates everything after all, it's just that other psi users present the stiffest challenge.

Probably it has something to do with the enemies' own high Resolve.
When it comes to dealing with Lunatics as a PSI-char, the best way do it is by throwing some metathermics spells, like a cryo-orb or pyrokinesis. Works like a charm as a stealthy char, not sure how anyone else without high CON, decent protection, and/or high initiative can do it.

Many psi attacks are cryo based, so my strategy is to always have armor with high heat resistance/immunity to burn. I throw a molotov under my feet so that I stay warm and cosy as those fuckers try to freeze me and then just lob grenades at them and/or use guns.

Is there any way to save
Butch & Spike, the two dogs forced to fight eachother by Lurkers in Lower Passages?
as i recall, they are not friendly and will be released to attack you?
I stumbled upon the area, and they were neutral, in the pit, fighting eachother. They kept fighting eachother even after I killed everyone there.

I ended up putting them both down.

It's incredibly annoying that you can't even remove the ones you've learned. I accidentally taught myself Incendiary Bolt once. Now it's there to forever clutter up my list. For fucks sake, why aren't there tabs?

How am I supposed to survive Old Junkyard, my level 8 Psy with Knife Char had could kill everything until now but against the Muties my abilities are useless. Should I go somewhere else first?

Styg said they were going to add categories on the steam forum a while ago, so it'll happen at some point. Just we don't know when that point will be.

Level doesn't matter as much as your build. Post what you have, stats & skills, feats, psi abilities etc. Also, junkyard is easier if you go from the black eels side, imo.

Let's hope they implement it in Underrail 2.

I knew this was probably going to happen, so I tested it to confirm.

When fighting in the Arena, if you throw a spear but don't retrieve it before the match ends, then that spear is gone forever. This is a significant handicap to spear builds, and should be addressed.

Ideally, anything and everything dropped during combat in the arena should be put into a box or something.

That would be a great change. Especially now with Spear Throw introduced to the game.

My first successful attempt at killing Carnifex in the arena was using bio grenades. After I killed him the gas kept expanding while the announcer was yapping away and I couldn't move and by the time he was finished so was I.
