I got into Depot A with my first play through and now I am realizing my pistol build sucks. Is Depot A the spot where you realize if you have a good build or not? I am getting killed in seconds everytime I go in there.

Not necessarily. I mean, your build MIGHT suck, but you might also not be using all resources at your disposal, like grenades or molotovs, traps, nets, adrenaline or morphine shots, etc.

I think Depot A is as much about your build being tested but also you being creative in how you deal with all the goddamn muties. Don't just do what you always did so far, try new things, but if you decide that your best and most creative efforts can't make it through, then your build is too weak.

Has anyone actually done a full playthrough where they collect one of every oddity? I thiink I might make a run of it with my current character. I'm only missing 58 Odddities, which means I have 148 of 206, and I haven't even done DC yet.
It's possible to collect ALL oddities in the game, but you have to make some very specific choices, have specifc skills and be incredibly lucky on top of it. You need to join Free Drones to get both Protectorate Cans, trigger the alarm at Epione Lab to get rubber glove from CAU and you need to massacre Fort Apogee for Protectorate Insignia and the 8th train log. You used to be forced to join JKK to get all fancy lighters without joining Protectorate, but I don't think it's needed anymore, just remember to get back and explore the sewers area that is a part of their questline to get the Insect Repellent, it opens up for all oligarchs after the warehouse quest. As for skills, you need stealth to get the 2 oddities located at JKK and Praetorian headquarters, you need hacking for Old Money, you need pickpocketing for various unique oddities carried by NPCs, I don't remember if there's any oddities locked behind lockpicking but that might be the case. Also, you need some PER to get the Motion Detector and the Signed Arena Ticket at Black Sea. And then all your efforts can be ruined due to the fact that acid cyclopean eye can be obtained only by killing the infamous two-headed mutant, which is a random encounter that happens at Depot A and there's no gurantee it will actually happen.

That's the gist of it. You can look up the oddities and their locations on the wiki. As for the new oddities at the Black Sea, one is locked behind PER while another one requires either pickpocketing or destroying the Mutie Refuge. All the other ones should be possible to obtain for any build.

That's rather outdated by now. I've seen other people get them all based on my attempt, though.

Also, you don't need to stick to the pistol at all times; sometime it's good to have more than one type of weapon depending on the situation. Even my chem pistol character used an smg in the depot (and grenades, lots and lots of grenades), because she had only the acid blobber at that point.

Also in case your character has basic Tailoring then you can craft acid resistant leather armor from siphoner leather for Depot A.

I have to hand it to Darth Roxor and others who have expressed annoyance over the original movement speed in Underrail: I really love the speed adjustment feature. It eases backtracking, stealth, merchant runs, and more. (Unlike the automap, I was never actually opposed to speed alteration, but didn't see a huge need for it, either. My only objection was using speed hacks to haul loot while heavily encumbered.)

On a somewhat related note, I propose an option to pay charons for installation of a private elevator in the Core City player house that connects to a moon pool where you can park your jet skis. This walking through six fucking screens to get from your house to transportation is getting so old it's even annoying me now. I have an extremely high tolerance for backtracking and downtime, so I feel that carries some weight.

Or a butler which waits for you at the docks/train and takes you to your house.

Though the added fast travel teleports significantly helped in this regard.

How are you supposed to infiltrate
the Foundry Prison
after it goes on lockdown? I was there once before, and everything was fine, I checked out the whole area, etc., nothing special, left, and now, much later, I have a quest to go there and infiltrate/exfiltrate, but now the alarm is on and there's guards standing right at the entrance, with no way to avoid them or even attempt to stealth. Everything leading up to the mission suggests it's supposed to be sneaky-breaky, but I show up and it's blaring sirens before I even start.

Did I hit another bug simply for exploring an area before I had a quest to go there?

I'm hauling an SMG for silent takeouts (because only 5mm gets to be silenced), an assault rifle for direct confrontations, two sniper rifles (one for combat, one for sniping), two energy pistols (electricity for debuff/initiating/groups, and a lazor for pew-pew spam), and a 9mm pistol as backup and acid.

Made my first three Super Steel; quality 121, 146, and 160.

I have been lead to believe that this is p. good.

:yeah:

I use practically nothing of metal; no melee weapons, no metal armor, no helmets. I have, to the best of my knowledge, no practical use for this.

Playing a Spear guy in the Black Sea feels damn good, especially if you join the pirates too.
You can use spearfighting to convince the neutral tribal to be on your side, while on water the spear's extra range and throwing are especially useful since you can't stealth to approach and they can't evade your throws as well so accuracy is good, you can get the Naval Jousting feat from Camp Hathor for +30% damage while riding, Impale does well against the crabs because of spears' natural penetration vs organic, lotta good stuff.

Also, most patrician way for a pirate to get an Aegis Patroller ASAP: ride your jetski outside the Aegis base and wait for a patrol, when the patrol arrives, wait for it to leave and follow it, then when 2 out of the 3 guys have left the screen just hit Enter to start turnbased combat and annihilate the lone guy.

wait, those increase movement speed? Never found it listed. Does it work in stealth too?

It increases your MP or AP, so... it does work.

I remember some guy saying he stealthed the lunatic mall and took the figurine without being detected, only by using as many drugs and tricks as possible to increase his stealthed movement speed.

Probably me.

Any way to defend against boulder throw from mutants and strongman?

Evasion is - - surprisingly useful, as it lower damage from these as if it was AoE. Even if you got hit - it's barely couple of dozens of HP, if you specialized in evasion.

Not sure what the chance is, but I've encountered some so far:

That coach has

Perception check, there is a box inder it, with something useful.

Given the across the board hate being shown for certain gameplay aspects of the expansion, I wonder how these weren't addressed during the testing phase where community members were giving feedback.

What exactly do you mean?

You need to join Free Drones to get both Protectorate Cans

I heard, you can do something for that at Protectorate mission where you get Dreadnought.

you need hacking for Old Money

Or pickpocketing together with Perception, because Deacon has the keycard.

I don't remember if there's any oddities locked behind lockpicking but that might be the case

There is in Foundry Prison, but you can take the key from the dead body of guard, though you will need hacking in order to not turn Foundry hostile to you I think.

Absolutely! Exellent thought, aren't we Invictus and like, right hand (ok, just left leg for shady business) of the Oligarchs?

after it goes on lockdown?

To not couse it to go on lockdown only pal.
You did there somethign illegal that was noticed.
Just don't do it next time. Or do it in a way they won't notice you did something illegal.

Is brutality worth the investment in indimidation?whats the range of the fear effect it induces? Im thinking of rerolling a machete dude with yell plus brutality.

You see, the problem is - do you like, if half the crowd that attacking you will run away after Brutality proc? As a melee?
If yes then it worth it.

The what now?

Just explore the game dammit. :outrage:

I would like to know the range of the fear effect, since i would like to cover the ranged dudes which give me the biggest trouble as a machete light armor dude, mobility is not an issue as i have above average agi plus sprint+tabi.

is there a way to steal jetski in ray shop? Didnt do it before expedition and now there are people looking at cameras...

Considering how valuable they are, I have to imagine you'll get royally fucked somehow. My guess would be all of Core City, the Protectorate embassy in Junkyard, Fort Apogee, the Aegis Expedition....

At least you CAN steal them, rather than it being impossible.

Just explore the game dammit. :outrage:

Must be some Expedition shit. I'm finally able to purchase the jet ski I want, and can actually start (well, properly start) the expansion.

So you have low armor penalty for good movement points.my spear dudes have usually really high armor penalty and mobility issues.
Feat selection?
Yeah, there are a lot of pitfalls with spear, like not being mobile enough, not having CC backup plans for when you miss a high AP attack. I always keep the armor light and wear tabis with +26 MP usually.
Most important feats are Sprint, Iron Grip, Cheapshots, Critical Power, Expose Weakness, Shield Arm.
I didn't pick Spear Guardian because Shield Arm works even if you didn't proc Spear Guard yet, and you don't need that much melee block anyway 99% of the time.

The only weakspot of this type of build is your Spear Throw will quite often miss because of low Dex, it's likely you'd want to get Spear Throw much later or leave it out with this build.

I would make it different, with 16-18 Dex and 7 Srt, with maxed out Throwing so I can use nets and sweet Opportunist's +25% damage bonus from the start.

Must be some Expedition shit.

I could make a hint for you, if you like. Or you could find it yourself anyway.

No bro, just finish tratatatatat.

Why you stole that from him bro?
