You just have to be careful to not destroy their jets.
That's an interesting way of saying "press F9 every time you destroy their jets."
Are there any cryo or pyro collectors before Depot A?
Scrapper merchant - Gort sells them. A bit rare tho, quality goes up to 69. Blaine sells them too, but good luck with that.

Gort finally got a pyro one on the 4th restock - just as I was coming out of Depot A with the Armadillo :negative:.
Did you know, that most of the time styg spent developing both base Underrail and Expedition, was devoted to programming a hyper advanced AI, specifically tailored to determine which items would benefit the players build and ensure that the player would never get said items when he needs them. Furthermore, the AI would then flood the merchant inventories with those items in subsequent playthroughs at preciselly determined times, ensuring maximum butthurt.
Having Constantine sell 164q tungsten plates on a gun build, right after finishing a melee build, or seeing a 164q Seeker Lens on a psi build, invokes a very special kinda of pain.

That's why I use trader restock. I have nor time nor patience to farm traders with 30 min restocking time.
Yeah, I use that for shit like ampules, vials etc. No way I'm going to run merchants for those things if i run out.
I also used to religiously farm merchants every playthrough. Rush Oculus and certain merchants. Then visit the ones selling top quality components every 90 minutes. I'd drop everything I was doing and beeline for faction merchants, constantine, etc. That's just not fun. Nowadays I spam refresh at level 22-26 til the first +145q components I get and be done with it.
The trader RNG is extra bad for chemical pistols, very few merchants sell their components.
imo this merchant RNG system is one of the bigger flaws of Underrail.

You'll be pressing F9 a lot, because junk jets are frail as fuck. Waterways Jet Skiers are just plain retarded. They have money to buy a 5k charons battery and 7k engine but won't buy a better jet? What's the point? I wish Styg would update those. Give 'em better Jet Skis so robbing them would pose a challenge. Anyway, it's a great way to make money. Their jet parts sells for good money, not to mention they often carry expensive Tac Vests.

Or help you if you're playing a similar build and you seek to make improvements.

Jets have very high cold resistance. Not saying you won't destroy a few if using Cryo Guns, but it will happen noticeably less.

- set game speed to 500
- have traders restock in 5 mins
- enjoy
found about the cheat engine time speed up when i was trying to find a rapid reloader which was somewhat rare to appear a couple of patches/years back.

random bits:

dude brew improves ethernal torch (40-80) -> (60-120)

energy weapons are quite silent: 12 (same as blob ones)
sonocaster appears to be energy weapon as far as noise is concerned
sonocaster can destroy walls
wall destruction appears not to generate noise
you can use sonocaster as stealthy way to destroy a wall

katya special stock includes rusting acid

Didn't know about juice improving the torch. Katya also sells corrosive acid in the special stock, the only source of it before the Deep Caverns. Dominating should make mutants spew corrosive acid so i can farm more glands without having to resort to joining pirates or descending to DC. That's why the game needs mods, that'd be something i would do :D

The arrival of the extra marines is something I wish more people were testing. I suspect - and I emphasize suspect - it has to do with the speed of the player and how quick they get to the encounter map. But what are the variables here... I wouldn't be able to tell you. I just had times with only a single marines spawn, two some other time, up to 5.

Facing those guys head on is quite something - well-done. Still, a bit too much rng for me, so I tend to use the blind side of the ship which is on the eastern end. Can pop a toxic gas onboard and shoot the robots from cover.

One way to prevent the marines from spawning is to kill off all of port Zenith. After the fight, when reporting to captain Grim, Razor will remark how no marines came to help because their port was zoned out.
Another way is to pass the persuasion check before the quest, which allows to attack the ship alone. Razor will take care of the marines off-screen.
There may be more that i dunno about.

Oh, yes, definitely. If one can do that, it's best practice.

It's just there's a way for no marines to arrive during the encounter even without doing any of that. For some particular reason it's the one that interests me the most, i.e., what exactly are the variables connected with it, ect.

I last played this game a year ago, has anything significant been patched in since? Is there a changelog to look at somewhere?

Two big updates, the notes are on the wiki.

- download cheat engine
- set game speed to 500
- have traders restock in 5 mins
- enjoy

There's a proper table with a 'trader restock' feature, worth downloading it since it's a bit superior.

During the years I've observed Underrail players I've come to realise there's two types.

1. I've a Gun and points in Guns, therefore I should be able to reasonable handle the majority of enemies I come across.

2. I am looting all of these different things and I better find out what they do. There might be a new type of armour, consumable, weapon, throwable that could help me in a given situation.

Needless to say, Strat-Edgy started as type 1 and migrated to type 2. Whether that's a negative for the game, though... I suppose that's purely subjective.

Surprisingly this isn't a negative review, all of what he says is that this game is really really hard but rewarding, this much we already know.

Ugh. Another popamole gamer who thinks that "the enemies are more dangerous than you in combat" and that the combat is hardcore "chess." Combat is one of the biggest flaws of Underrail, especially the challenge.

We get it. You've played the game more than he has.

Just got Philosophy III from the Ferryman. For the first time i actually read through the dialogue and discussed it with him instead of rushing through all options to get the feat. It's really interesting. Also his name seems to be random. On my first expedition playthrough he was William, now he's Daniel.

Would be pretty awkward if it wasn't the case in a game like Underrail

The point being that you will experience a lot of discomfort if you stick too literally to that method, i.e., play the game as Fallout plays.
