i hope you guyz are playing versatile before styg nerfs it

and daggers for good measure, again

Would make no sense nerf it. Versatility gives you effective skills so you won't meet feat requirements. Though he could nerf it so that the feat considers only base and not effective skill. Just don't give him ideas please

Been playing nothing but since it was released. I just like swapping a lot of weapons. That said, Dexterity based Versatility is superior to either Strength or Perception as both later categories need perks in order to compete. For that reason I don't think it will ever get any nerfs. Full spec Versatility is nice, but it takes away from other no less important spec. Don't see any changes coming.

Don't underestimate Pneumatic Leather Gloves.

Dex Versatility has some advantages and saves you the most skill points, but Dex sort of limits you to light weapons and guns, and Per gives access to much better feats. Str gives you heavier melee weapons and sniper and assault rifles, if you go that route, although the feats are ass just like Dex.

Big lol at me trying to kill Dreadnought with SMG. Just no way. Was forced to make myself a laser just for that occasion.

First area of port Zenith was a breeze, and silenced SMG proved its limited worth. I killed stealthily all but two people and big walker. But the second area - what a non-stop assrape it is, especially because of snipers and almost no cover whatsoever. It was way easier to clear the docks with any of my previous builds. But now I have a jet-ski!

Also, hint for TC users in port Zenith docks: there is a lone sentinel patrolling the area near the entrance. Place a loud mine at the end of his route: as it explodes, all the personnel goes there to investigate - at this moment, LoC, Mania, Overload - and watch them die.

Would be pretty awkward if it wasn't the case in a game like Underrail

The point being that you will experience a lot of discomfort if you stick too literally to that method, i.e., play the game as Fallout plays.
Yes, that's true.
But the game makes it pretty clear (relatively) early on that it won't be as easy. I found that even if you go for a relatively simple build (e.g. pure melee) you still have to use all tricks available to you to win the tougher fights - at least on Hard, though I have no doubt it would already be the case on Normal for some not-very-great builds.

What's it good for expect pistols?
pistol is quite wide term... you got ballistic, energy, chemical
smgs would work too

anything one handed so you can jerk of with other rly

All of them are light so you abuse 18 DEX for AP reduction, but is there anything but that?
no, its all about ap reduction abuse really. You can get stable 19 dex, to reach same levels of guns on non versatile build, you would need 14PER.
I assume on gun build you eat PER food, which gives you acc and dmg boost.
Here you munch DEX sandwich for slighlty lower acc and dmg bonus, while also gaining AP reduction

Its a trade, with versatility you save stat points since you can run with 3PER and run full AP reduction, while you lose access to some feats and 10 spec points.

Myself im quite a big fan of ap reduction, gives you more options during combat.

But I wonder if styg is aware how popular quick pockets feat is. I assume not very much and I always wondered why it doesnt reduce reload cost

That's with 10 full spec points though, otherwise you need just 8 PER.

so with versatility you can use a sword/pistol build with 3 per?

Yeah, and use the pistols better than a PER build.

is psycho temporal contraction worth it with the new change? gonna use it combined with sprint for a tin sledgehammer.

I use it in every build i make. It stacks with adrenaline, just too good for not using.

Also i'd like to talk about flares. They work great with ambush if you have high throwing skills. Instead of throwing molotovs and alerting the whole map, you could just chuck a flare and ambush a stealth kill. They're cheap and light weight too.

It work surprisingly well in a expertise SMG build. Don't care much about shock rounds though.

Has anyone beaten D'Flinger at throwing knives? He gets really butthurt and won't talk to you anymore if you win.

I am not sure whether the Dreadnaught doesn't have some token electrical threshold that could trivialize the shock rounds.

Calamity reacts to that by saying that she'd be keeping the best stuff for the player from now on. I haven't compared her old merch to the one after, but it might be a way to get her to supply more and various foods.

Didn't see any changes though, but i didn't pay attention. I usually just buy pentapus barbeque and don't even look at the rest. She complaining about him was really funny. Also, when challenge D'Flinger you get an option to lose on purpose, i though it was a way to induce him to bet even more money but it doesn't change anything apparentely

That's good to know.

I might be cooking a new run - I actually want to do Grey Army as soon as possible and use Marsh Honey, Juice, Shroom Salad as opener from Stealth. Thinking about 6/6/3/3/8/8/6. Persuasion needed.
