Wtf, I'm letting the Faceless commander read my mind in Deep Caverns, and I pass the Thought Control check, but then they turn hostile anyway. Wtf!
Did you accept the Tchortist quest to scout out Faceless Positions? Doing so will immediately turn the Faceless hostile after they do a Thought Control check, unless your will is high enough to prevent mental probing.
No, I haven't encountered anyone else yet.

I think this is a bug.

you got whole list of possible reasons there. If I get it right thought control is about penalty from x faceless kills, not your quest deeds

What I literally see in my playthrough:

Based on that description they shouldn't know ANY activities of mine that would be considered hostile. If that's not the case it's either a bug or bad writing/design.

Also, even if it doesn't "count" the quest-related activities I should still be okay. I killed the Faceless in Buzzer's shop, but I negotiated peacefully with the ones near Foundry. The one in Core City I'm pretty sure I just left alone. That should at least get me to neutral standing if nothing else.

Gah I just noticed I took the wrong perk earlier. Must have mis-read the description and didn't realise it was shotgun specific. Wish there was a respec. Don't know why it can't have a respec like Witcher 1 (or 2?) where you get one respec per game to fix mistakes.

Live with your mistakes or restart/reload. A single wasted feat point in a gun build is not fatal, so you can just chalk it up to learning experience. Do make sure to read feat descriptions carefully from now on, they often have very specific wording.

Some skills/feats are more useful for getting through early game while others offer more value later, without respec all of this has to be considered when making a choice what to pick and when. Also, among other things, even a one time respec could be used to reap benefit from certain skills/feats and then benefit from other skills/feats later while still keeping the benefit from the former. Craft enough drugs/grenades to last you a lifetime, then put all those points into something else. Open relevant doors, pass relevant dialogue, etc.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
I never used snipers. I played the game once as an unarmed mage, and I have a shotgun/grenadier run.

I went in at level 12/normal/oddities run.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
CthuluIsSpy I recommend restarting personally. You'll be missing out on some great encounters if you go in so overleveled. I usually recommend going in around level 15-18, but I play the game on Dominating so that is flexible.

I think that if you have done normal once, you should have enough understanding for game systems to go higher.

If you did regular exp. go oddities for your second run. I leveled way faster with regular exp.

On the internet, writing shit posts.
Do I need thick skull when going for a heavy armour build? I'm trying to make a heavy shotgunner, but if I go int 7 for those nice crafting perks I lose out on thick skull.
Right now I have 8S, 8C, 8P and 7int. 3 Everything else. Which means 3 Dex so no traps and throwing, sadly.

Also, is it worth going melee / shotgunner to go with the metal armour's stat investment? Or do shotguns just render melee completely redundant?
What's the earliest you can get a shotgun, without needing to invest in persuasion?

Not needed at all. Bullhead does essentially the same thing for free.

Usually people grab a Spear as their first weapon due to how effective it is against Rathounds, and then once they get a Shotgun they're good to go. You can sometimes find a frame in the Crossroads, but if not you should be able to maybe buy one from the store or find one in GMS.
