There is nothing left man, i played on the same character since 2017 (with breaks that lasted from few months to year or two but still), its not underrail anymore, this is overrail now.Well then, go through the rest of the game and enjoy yourself like a true zoner.
Doesn't that mean you're essentialy playing on legacy version then? Saves from way back then probably aren't compatible with the latest version. If that's the case then you missed out on a lot of new content, it's a much bigger and more polished game now that it was in 2017.There is nothing left man, i played on the same character since 2017 (with breaks that lasted from few months to year or two but still), its not underrail anymore, this is overrail now.Well then, go through the rest of the game and enjoy yourself like a true zoner.
Probably, though i believe that my progress was slow enough that i was able to catch on the most content from the later updates, for example that core city questlines overhaul. While yes my character started in 2017, from looking at eq and oddities that are on my lvl 10 import from 2019 (i believe that i returned then for the first time to the Underrail, praise Sseth lol) i think by that point i only finished junkyard.Doesn't that mean you're essentialy playing on legacy version then? Is the best thing to do as a total noob to run a throwaway build, learn the systems and then use that knowledge to re-roll? There are jillions of builds around - but I can't decide between them: I have no sense for the game yet.
And am I missing anything by not having the expansion when I start a campaign?
I did half a run(maybe less), then restarted from scratch, after getting a feel for how I wanted to play.Is the best thing to do as a total noob to run a throwaway build, learn the systems and then use that knowledge to re-roll? I don't know if I'd call it a throwaway build, but definitely try not to get attached to your first character or two, unless playing on easy or something. Is the best thing to do as a total noob to run a throwaway build, learn the systems and then use that knowledge to re-roll? As is tradition. Is the best thing to do as a total noob to run a throwaway build, learn the systems and then use that knowledge to re-roll?
I finished the first run I started without restarting, the only preparation I had was reading through the feat list and using that to figure out what kind of build I want. Restartitis is a personal issue, build doesn't and won't be optimal on your first run anyways, just enjoy the flaws until the inevitable replay. Is the best thing to do as a total noob to run a throwaway build, learn the systems and then use that knowledge to re-roll? You're missing a lot by not having the expansion, it bleeds into base game content hard, all updates since it was released were made with it in mind and is far superior to the base game at this point. I like to say it's like playing Diablo 2 without LoD.
it likely depends on build in question. Eh, you will just quickly figure out that those throwing knives are probably better if you add an actual melee knife, not like you can't spend a level or two worth of skill points into melee and be fine.it likely depends on build in question. I recommend following the main quest as it'll take you to almost all the areas you need to see and are worth exploring. Just keep your eyes peeled for hidden or relevant areas. And yes, the game is fucking amazing, you have much more to see and enjoy. Just a tip, don't blow off the mysterious dude with a cough.Ok I am level 7, playing on oddity XP mode. I scoped out the junkyard previously but noped out because I wasn't able to disarm any of the traps or unlock any of the doors. That might have changed now that I'm level 7 + have a jackknife.
Am I wasting my time if I explore that area now? I have explored the lower caves as much as I can (or so I think) and I've done the prison breakout but I've not really explored the underail area much yet. Should I go there first?
I realise I'm about 8 years late but 10/10 game so far. I love the stealth system.
Same here, just threw points into whatever seemed useful at a given moment. Speaks a lot about how well this game was made.I beat the game just fine on my first Normal/Oddity playthrough with a sub-optimal build I made as I learned.
