nice too see it got announced. lets be real if they put in a tiny amount of effort they can make a better game then the original bloodlines. I can see the original bloodlines being on the xbox or ps3. Everything after downtown was a rushed mess in bloodlines. Remember the side missions where you sneak around tiny buildings and apartments to hack computers. Also the hub design was very basic and barebones in content it offered. Shoddy and archaic game design.

I don't know, I don't like the whole "you are what you eat" thing at all. I want to choose whoever I feel like (and not gimp myself in the process), not specific targets depending on the abilities I want.
Sounds cool to me, it's nice for story type decisions to have an actual gameplay impact. If you want to be awesome at shooting you eat snipers, if you want to be good at talking over people you eat Republicans. To me that's fun. Besides, it's just going to be bonuses, not entire abilities. If your experience is ruined because you're such a min/maxer that you demand the +5% in dentistry but refuse to eat any dentists, it's you that's doing it wrong, not the game.

This describes my feelings perfectly. It's that's not that they won't try, it's that their perception and thus recreation of VtmB will be massively different.

Not only that, but they'll be scared witless of upsetting anyone -- especially fans of the original -- that they won't dare to make it their own. Best case is a competently-executed pastiche. And that's a real stretch.

I don't think that will be a problem. It is usually the Nostalgia riden Kickstarters which suffer from these. When they ask money for a spiritual successor of a classic game, and they don't dare to make it their own.

It seems like it will be hub-based too. They mentioned having some iconic landmarks but also iconic neighborhoods to explore. It will likely be very much like the first game but with more - they mentioned the script is massive and it has more characters and dialogue than Bloodlines by far.

Hub based with free exploration of hubs from the start, according to one preview.

Even better, if we can bounce between hubs and do different quests that span multiple hubs like the original, but the difference is we're free to explore them from the start. That's great design and a step up from Bloodlines IMO, where hubs were locked until certain story quests.

Did you read the same article I did? A woman talking about how she likes cocks is a bad thing to you people?

She talks about dicks like a 13 year old female NEET who has just discovered they exist. For all her talk of Sexual things in gaming, she never actually knew that much about sex.

She's not. She just acts like one in front of boys she wants to impress IRL. Not that you heard that from me :P

Some time ago I read somewhere Schaffer said he would never return to Bloodlines or anything related to that...

But Paradox Interactive + Hardsuit Labs managed to convince him somehow.

This must mean the game is going to be Something. I can sense a work of passion in here.

Btw, I realize my addiction to Mitsoda's voice has returned after listening to him in this event.

Having one class out of 12 with Lawful Stupid capability is one thing. That poster child for retroactive abortion just made it so that every fucking class including the Blackguard and the Assassin is now enforced Lawful Stupid.

Well, if you are a thin blood, you can actually choose the trait without it being against the lore.

It would be different if it continues whatever full fledged vampire you become.

this game will be Numenera once again....

The "essence" of Bloodlines seems easier to replicate than Torment's or at least easier to figure out, also Numanuma had a different setting and a different story lead which in hindsight should have been red flags. Add to that that Torment's strength was the novelty or cliche-breaking if you will which made it so memorable, it is rather hard to replicate novelty. In Bloodlines, at least for me, the main strength came from the fact that it came closest (but not as close as it could) to Deus Ex in its genre hybrid style adding in decent writing and more cRPG elements. The devs seem to realize this strength which gives some hope, but they can still fuck up.

If it is a fuck up which of course it can be it shouldn't be as monumental as Numanuma was. There is hope for the gameplay, the storytelling though might suffer due to CURRENT YEAR issues. We will see how bad it is when the game comes out, I expect it will pollute some side quests. The Battletech hysteria over pronouns and SJW activism turned out to be a tempest in a teapot, a minor and irrelevant flaw when considering all the other issues with that game.

Ah I love Goyim naivety. The shekles still glint brightly in your eyes. I envy that.

Games trying to be as inoffensive as possible while also trying to ensure no one in the world has hard time playing it end up being characterless, passionless parodies of an actual game. No matter how much you try, 50yo boomers that never played a game before won't play it.

This is in general fault of white liberals who love to pat themselves in the back for being inclusive and such, it is not because they are particularly inclusive by the way. It is because they have came to consider that being inclusive and woke in a performative way to be good thing, thus they act this out in completely self-serving, self-congrulatory and masturbatory ways that are more often not both crass and also miss the point.

Phew, finally cought up with you guys. T'was page 89 when I left off.

I am concerned about the consent stuff from their discord server, and actual content from V5 is lulzy in the extreme, but I remain hopeful the game will be gud. The music alone will be!
