What 40K atmosphere should convey:

What 40K is in the eyes of pathfags will convey:

W2w2R3k.jpg

Precisely.
Compare your masculine and canonical trailer with garbage made for people like Humbaba.

6d526114-20c6-5cbe-8dab-c87951fc7c40

Vatniks supporting this shit and Putin not sending Owlcat to the gulag for being faggots just proves Russia is the bad guy.
You're not wrong.

This might be the best release in gaming OF ALL TIME!
Wouldn't go that far, but I'm certainly looking forward to it. Blackpillers gonna blackpill and I'll keep looking forward to what might be a neat Wh40k vidya.

It was less about the game and more about my ability to enjoy the idiot brigade's shitposting instead of being annoyed because who cares about 40K lore?

If I'm to be serious, I hope they have some interesting options for character creation and nail the music and sound design since that's such a huge part of the (very few) 40K games that are worth playing.

Actually, two things can be true.

1) Astartes and similar fan-made videos nail the contemporary grimdark interpretation of Warhammer 40,000.

2) Rogue Trader and the colorful early edition weirdness associated with it are respected and regarded with nostalgia by serious Warhammer fans.

there's nothing surprising about this.

Astartes animation was made by a single person with strong vision. Never an artist working under a daddy can create as good as one who is free.
GW at this point are mostly out of ideas of what else to add to the game. They milked plot of heresy, created vampi marines wolf marins and other marins and don't understand that it's the fundamentals that matter.
astartes author, as suied for good creator, focused entirely on fundamentals of what makes a marine: a merciless killing machine.

naturally he was quickly dragged in chains to work for daddy because how would you feel if one person in garage outdid your multimillion studio?
there won't be another astartes anymore tho, dunworry.

the difference is that colorful early edition shit was made by nerds who, as people, were interesting. ie see photo of some gw guy from 80s with messy hair with his fantase army.
modern colorful stuff is made by people who are entirely, by their natur, are uninteresting.

Alex Mishulin is a nerd. I wonder what his role on this game is.

I think Owlcats is full of nerds, many of whom look like actual gamers. Whatever people think of Pathfinder's spaghetti code or narrative, the stuff they crammed in there as player options and the overall ambition of those projects was at least partially gamer nerd passion as far as I can tell.

Except it doesn't. Does this look as dark and bullshit as Astartes to you?

XGc1OOAmqIpSVopJ.jpg

Even codex art, which tends to be a bit darker than other artwork never reaches Astartes level

Even here, the darkness is broken by the red robe.

Astartes had more passion and genuine love for the IP put into it than the disgusting Anglo vermin over at GW have ever invested in 40k.

GW are hellbent to drive 40k into the ground.

Not to mention that Rogue Trader as a setting doesn't have the same thematic focus as the Wh40k wargame. It's all about the wacky adventures of a ragtag group living on the fringes of imperial society. Complaining about it not being about praising the Emprah and sacrificing oneself for the Imperium's vision is missing the point of the setting entirely. Basically it's the 40k equivalent to a cyberpunk setting and here you have people complaining about it not being set in a corpo environment with the PC being a conformist employee.

Gargoyleman may be nerd, but his position is probably some director/lead, doubt he'll write whole game plot.
Same for example, with Jes Goodwin: he is now some art lead of GW, but miniatures seemed to be mostly made in 3d editors by someguys maybe even outsourced guyz.

Virtue signalling

GW are hellbent to drive 40k into the ground.
As evidenced by them resurrecting specialist games.

I'm tired for now of arguing with very obvious nomodel trolls, I'll be back sometime later.

It's almost like they've made two of the biggest and most ambitious RPGs ever made, with content designed to appeal to a huge plurality of people, and going out of your way to get offended by things that aren't precisely shaped to fit your particular box in one of the hugest games ever indicates that you have a diseased mind.

Yeah better chug down a few more redbulls before you get back to the shilling. It's energy consuming I know. Imagine, we haven't even reached the EA-thread yet.

Well, well, well. So I have been going through my old PnP Rogue Trader books just today and what do I see right here? This must have been predestined to happened. Tbh fam I always wished a Rogue Trader cRPG would have been done by Trese Brothers (Star Traders: Frontiers basicaly being a Rogue Trader game), but one cant have everything.

As you can see from the gameplay snippets, the visuals are identical to PF:KM and WotR. So if you like cartoony disney shit then this is right up your alley.

Do I have to post more 40k artwork so you idiots will finally shut up about the setting somehow being gritty and realistic?

b9ec2d156e6cf062c8d08c7748dd869d.jpg

I bet you people haven't even primed a mini in your lives.

Dunno man, for me the "true" 40K has been always summed up by the picture below:

Karl-War-DPS-Witchhunters-300x300.jpg

Not sure about "gritty and realistic," but it sure is dark (though 40K certainly can move in the realistic direction, the last two books in the Gaunts Ghosts series being basicaly a 40K take on Iraq war complete with suicide bomber cars), unlike the graphics I have seen in the trailer. And if minis are required to make a qualified opinion on this I will have you know I still have 1500 points of IG (according to the third edition second Codex, dont keep up much nowadays), painted and assembled back home.

In any case I dont give a fuck about any of that gay "Pathfinder" shit or whatever these devs did before - now that they do 40K they moved into the major leagues. Hopefuly they will get as much inspiration from the PnP Rogue Trader (btw someone should do Dark Herey first edition cRPG too) as possible and there better be space combat and ship management elements, otherwise this is already a fail. Then again, looking at their website and seeing this

heir adventures begin in the vast Koronus Expanse - a treacherous region of unexplored space at the edge of Humanity’s domain.

makes me a bit more optimistic, at least they apparently read some stuff. Still dont see anything substantial about ship combat and management though - designing and running your ship (the usual stuff with upgrades and such) is a huge part of PnP experience.

"The unofficial fanfic is more representative of 40k than the official trailer"

Cope of the fucking century holy shit.

Nigga you smoking crack or something? Of course a random fanfic is gonna be more representative of Star Wars than whatever shit gets "officially" released nowadays with niggers and stronk wahmin. In a way it is way more true with 40K vidya, roughly 95% of which are garbage.

Nah Rogue Trader era stuff was retarded and contained such briliant examples of "british humor" as scenarios along the lines of "plenetary governor started a new religion that worships pudding, space marines arrive to restore order." Space Marines back then being basicaly a bunch of skin heads. 40K only got big after it got grimmdark - I am sure there are still some people around who like the original approach, but those people are nearly as dangerous to the frenchise as whatever retarded woke corpo faggots that currently run GW. If they had their way, the franchise would be FUBAR.

Anyway, preordering right now coz its 40K. BTW if you have problems with pre orders... I dont know, consider not being a poorfag or something?

Both of them are doing it for free. By the way, I expected better from Infinitron rather than shilling for free.

Is early Warhammer just Warcraft for people who like painting models and hanging out in the back rooms of game stores?
