So still better than Divinity: OS, Pillars of Eternity and Shadowrun, then. Except for, the combat in D:OS.

I'll take that as a "there's no signifigant improvements to things you disliked. Don't bother reinstalling".

Thanks. You saved me from a few hours of tedium :salute:

My experience was bugless so far(except some problems with battle/description log), but then I got into a quite fun battle:

Then I hit gila monitor really hard

I went for my tea and damage kept going:

I have remembered that I have some shopping to do, so I left a game for half an hour. And when I returned I found this:

So if regular edition bored me to tears, is it worth bothering with directors cut at all?

My main beef with the game was that writing was mediocre, lots of waiting around while I repeat the same skill check several times, uninspired exploration over an over map that may as well have been a giant turd and - most importantly - shitty combat that never required much on the way of tactics

Writing is decidedly better than vast majority of the industry. If it's mediocre or not that's subjective, I like it, good story, good characters, heaps of lol-worthy puns and jokes.

Skill checks can - and should - be sped up by a simple mod. It's a bare necessity.

Map exploration uninspired? Considering it's not exactly the focus of the game it's plenty serviceable.

Combat wasn't shitty in vanilla, just mediocre, especially the encounter mechanic. That, as far as I can tell, has been improved significantly. This time around you absolutely need good positioning, covers, focus firing, consumables now and then - when playing on Ranger and SJ that is. It's still not as good as D:OS ofc, magic will always mean more interesting combat, but it's good. Plus W2 is absolutely destroying D:OS in everything else.

Nevertheless, the DC is more an evolutionary than a revolutionary thing.
If you liked the vanilla version, you'll like the DC (only thing that's really worse is the barter interface).
If you couldn't stand vanilla, I'd say it's doubtful that the DC will change much about it (except maybe because either like or dislike is/was mostly make-believe anyway).
Early-game combat (on Ranger) seems a bit easier/faster in the DC but plays very similar since the precision shot feature is too inaccurate to be used without decent weapon skills.
Can't yet say much about later game, haven't even made it to Damonta so far.

Imo, Wasteland 2 (DC) is a good game, just not a great one. Like the other big Kickstarters it suffers from different issues which to a good part probably come down to money and time constraints during development.

It seems to be invisible now. You get the rad resistance displayed somewhere, but that's about it.
If you get a better suit, double-clicking it will simply replace the old one.

Btw what's really pissing me off - there were a number of mini-quest items in vanilla (the ones with a white headline) that had no purpose in the game, presumably items from removed or borked mini quests. And what do you know, they're still there, a year after in a "polished and perfected" DC. Come on inXile. Where's sea when you need to hurt someone's butt.

That puzzled me too, there's no slot, you can see your rad resistence on the Character tab.

Haha, let me piss you off more. The game has a bug that Luck bonus HP on level is not gained really. When people reported that on wl2 forums devs said "oh but we had that bug since original game".

When I called them out for looking incompetent for admitting that fanboys attacked me :D

Hmm, you're being a bit misrepresentative here: https://forums.inxile-entertainment.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=14085&p=160776#p160304

If I was you I would not share this info with the public, it only shows you in bad light

I mean, isn't this the kind of thing a fanboy would say?

I explained myself afterwards. I really don't want to know people I gave money to are incompetent. I would rather not know if they plan to fix the bug. if they will leave the game as buggy mess then I will want to know so I can bash them more.

Also doctors are cheap or even free and many maps have one available.

E.g. in Highpool there's a doctor in the settlement on top of the dam, same building as the store.
In Ag Center you have to rescue the doc first (he's in the East Fields, I think).

[REDACTED]?

Uh, wanted to add you can dump the obsolete suits in the Ranger stash, otherwise you have to lug it around since it's an undroppable quest item. Took me some time to figure this out.

Too bad you can't dump shit like Rose's starting shotgun etc.

Does the game change in any way after the place with the mad monks and Diamondback Militia? I really want to like this game because it's turn-based, party-based post-apocalyptic CRPG but it's just getting too fucking boring already :negative:
