Yeah but both apparently contain hints. I'm not sure what's the Russian one about but the Latin one gives the password to Provost's safe in the Titan Canyon. So the one about Vegas could be a hint too.

Russian one contains hint about Ricks Rad Suit. Rick supposed to bring rad suit to

Doesn't the quartermaster in the Citadel sell all these as well? I think I bought the M16 and the Bullpup from him right after Ag and kept them all the way until Cali.

Not entirely sure when he starts selling the stuff. He doesn't sell the M16 for me after Ag Center. Maybe after Prison or Canyon of Titan.
I think I bought the Bullpop from him, though.

Balance-wise they should increase the price for tier3+ weapons, considering that you can get some relatively fast otherwise.

sea's post from the inxile forums doesn't sound as if the patch will come out within the next few days...

I bought M-16 from him after doing Highpool and Ag Center. He only had one so I bought some weaker gun for my 2nd assault rifle person. Also there were same tier sniper rifles to buy and other weapons.

If you want to go blind I'd definitely hold off the game until the patch.

If you wanna play right now here's some meta for an easy workaround playthrough.

In character creation don't give Computers, Brute Force or Hard Ass to anyone. Make a char with high Char+Leadership. Right at the start grab Angela. Go save the Ag Center, recruit Rose (best NPC in the game), develop Assault Rifles for her. Go sort out the RNC right after that, grab Chisel. Go sort Darwin, boost up your overall Charisma to 22, sack Angela, grab Pizepi. That's it for your recruiting, you're done for the rest of the game.
No Takayuki?

Maybe there's some RNG involved? The only tier3 weapon I found with him was the sniper rifle, everything else is tier 1 or 2.
The M16 I got from the random encounter vendor.

The Holywood questline is still bugged. Freeing the penitents doesn't work after there's a second coup in the Bastion. The relevant NPC just becomes unresponsive. I remember having the exact same issue way back in the original. :argh:

The relevant NPC (Maggie) is actually irrelevant unless you have Kiss Ass 10 in which case you can get the quest to free the penitents from her. If not you can get it later from other people. In any case she's not critical to the quest.

Takayuki is a bit slow plus in DC bladed weapons are still worse than blunt/brawl.

The random vendor with tier 3 weapons is awesome, you can get them all for a price of one sabot missile + a few bullets to finish off the guards.
M16 and tier3 snipet before highpool? Yes please.

Such actions should have consequences too. I hope in WL3 they'll add some sort of reputation system. Even if bad things happened in the middle of a desert and no-one can prove you were involved, still you were nearby which for locals must mean you were at least sleeping on the job. Which should hurt Rangers' reputation in general and yours in particular.

Too late - W2 already has a reputation system. Not sure if murdering random merchants sets it off, but then again ... if you kill them all, who's going to go crying to Vargas? I've had it up to here with clairvoyant NPCs. "You look like the kind of guy who stole something when no one was watching. Attack!!"

As for sleeping on the job, crimes happen all the time ... in fact the wastes are crawling with an indefinite number of bandits and killers at all times. One squad can't be expected to eradicate every robber and pickpocket, or protect every wandering joe who leaves the safety of the settlements, over hundreds of square miles.

I wonder if every bandit encounter you skip should decrease such reputation too. -10 to Rangerism
:troll:

It boils down to: In the middle of desert if nobody hears you scream - you're fucked. I'd rather have that than the omnipresent judgement of reputation independent of the fact if the act you committed had any witnesses.

Now if I had a proper ranger in my party (eg. Angela) that would be a shame if she wouldn't even comment on it or snitch on me to Vargas. But otherwise? Otherwise "Even if bad things happened in the middle of a desert and no-one can prove you were involved, still you were nearby which for locals must mean you were at least sleeping on the job" is bullshit.

Some broken checks on ranger citadel, random ranger npcs think bergin won highpool election when he didn't. Good thing it's just flavor text, hope nothing serious gets screwed.

In the vanilla game at least, Angela would definitely get pissed off at you if you murdered people without provocation. I don't know if she reports you, ends up quitting, or attacks you, or what, though. My bad guy playthrough didn't last too long :)

Bitch murdered a civilian in cold blood just because he survived the synth attack and her precious lover hasn't. No right to complain.

Do any of you ever feel like playing the "badguy" playthrough? I mean, I've tried forcing myself to it, but I always go with my instinct.

Not trying to sound like jesus, but I just never go for the "wrong" choices. Even on second or third playthroughs (I should lol)

I've done one badguy playthrough, predictably it's MUCH more combat intensive and also, without going into spoilers, quite a bit shorter. Entertaining tho :D

I built a whole evil team with semi-plausible backstories and everything, to fuck around with while I was waiting for patches for my "real" playthrough. Didn't get far though, I didn't want to spoil the game for myself until it was ready for my "real" team to go for it. A lot of interesting things happen when you don't play goody two shoes though, that's for sure.

There are actually two badguy endings. In LA you have the option of being dumb enough to side with Matthias, which requires killing all the hub leaders.

That's the one I meant. Game's a bit shorter that way. What's the other one?
Go on a murder rampage in Arizona, Vargas orders your deaths so you have to go kill him.

This game has even less incentive to be a bad guy than BG1, so no.
I didn't even see a way to be a jerk/bad guy bioware style.
