I'm still trying to understand how anyone found DOS enjoyable. Let alone codexers

Oh that's because the soul of D:OS and the soul of average Codexer are very similar maturity-wise.

Eeh, you know what? If W2 had taken some interface and camera cues from D:OS, I would be a happy man. That said - storywise, W2 shits all over D:OS.

Also - is there any way to get more hotkey slots? 8? R U SRS?

This game has the worst graphical quality / performance ratio I have ever seen, as well as one of the most abbhorent interfaces ever conceived. It's no wonder the Codex loves it.
That's the power of the Unity engine. It runs on anything but it always runs like shit. The POE beta didn't get along with my setup nicely either, I mean sure it is old but it could run Crysis 3 FFS, it should be able to handle an IE tier game without stutter and shit. At least POE looks nice, not going to pay full price to get fucked in the ass with a 30GB install of this mediocrity that looks like a 2006 game and runs like crap. If the Codex review is positive I might try W2 out for a bargain bin price at best.

Finally made it to California, it's amazing, it's everything we were hoping for as an improvement to Arizona.

EDIT: Also, it's really fucking hard, my party is getting mauled by wolves.

So far I've only gone as far as Highpool and I'm really liking this. Got a kick out of the references to some of the WTF events that took place in Highpool in the original game.

I was enjoying D:OS just as much in the early game but it turned out Cyseal was the best area. Glad to read that people playing Wasteland 2 aren't reporting the same drop in quality as the game progresses.

Also, based on some of the comments I'm reading here, my party is probably shit. Didn't dump stat anything. Everyone has stats in 3-6 range in pretty much every attribute.

Is there a hotkey for flagging items as junk? It is boring to open every item seperately and click the Flag as Junk button.

Also, do you guys have any luck with figuring out hidden keywords during dialogues? Which you have to figure out on your own?

Yeah, believe me, it gets higher. And California is pretty much a new game on itself.

Is there a reason to fix the water purifier in Highpool?

If you're asking about the machine in the shop then

If you repair the engine after installing it, the shopkeeper is happy and gives you 100 scrap if you talk to him afterwards. Also, I would assume it counts towards the "making people like the Rangers" part of the vote quest but I'm not sure on that.

There is one repeatable bug so far - making the keyword cursor appear during conversation is a bitch. Clicking around and selecting different guys to talk usually brings it back, but it's fiddly as hell, like trying to get an old key to work ... you gotta wiggle it around to get it to 'click'.

Is Centercode still the best place to submit bugs, I wonder?

Is it just me, or Angela in the Citadel is basicly a cheat mode for those who have problems with the difficulty? I can take a lvl14 ranger with me, right from the beginning? I won't take her with me until I arrive to an unbeatable opposition.

homie just covered this distance in a single turn, is he just really good at walking or what

It seems almost every single enemy in the game can cover an immense amount of ground. I'm still not sure if they even have different AP's or what, because so far they can all cover the length of the map quite speedily.

I don't think she's that strong. (Like, she doesn't carry the team in terms of damage output, or have any super useful skills). She's nice to have, but I don't think she's really necessary except maybe for having extra firepower/eating hits for that toad fight as her HP bloat is the best thing about her. That said, it probably depends on what difficulty you're playing. I'm on 'Ranger' and it's a decent challenge as my guys limp along in a constant state of being near-death and vacuuming up medical supplies. Having her at half health isn't so bad compared to someone whose starting HP is like 30 or whatever. Main use for her is to be the team paladin, crying out against whatever atrocities you commit, and to mope about the death of Ace. She adds character definition to an already weak starting plot line and, in that regard, is totally necessary to have, IMO.

Edit: Does the game not use Steam's image taking button (F12)? I had some pictures of glitches that probably would have been useful to the developers but I never show any images once I exit the game.

Brother None ; sea , having a weird problem with custom portraits. When the game launched, I installed it on my brothers PC and put some custom portraits in. Worked just fine. Now I downloaded the game on my main PC, used the steam cloud to synch my data. Savegames showed up just fine. Even with the portraits that I included on my brothers PC. Now here is the thing - they don't show up in the "custom portrait" folder and when I put some others in there, they don't show up ingame in the character creation.

Is there any other folder I am not aware of, other than User/Documents/My Games/Wasteland 2/Custom Portraits ?

How do I not die? I can't bypass the radiation walls which means I can't go to the major locations, how can I progress at all?

Well, yes, Angela doesn't have a huge damage output, but she has tons of HP, which makes her a great meatshield. Although I'm playing on seasoned, so I don't really need her in this regard. Might be different on Ranger.

She's more or less intended as a "newbie assist" character. :)

That's a great idea, thanks to her my party of intelligent ppl (all of then have 10 int) can survive the first levels...
