Just like Yves, I chase tales.
People laughed when I said I have 5 ad-blockers and patron status.
Who's laughing now?

You don't actually need a single one here as long as you're a patron, given that you can turn off all the ads with an active site patron status.People laughed when I said I have 5 ad-blockers and patron status.

I test plenty of different things on different sites, you're making incorrect assumptions. This advertiser is only being tested right now so it's likely not something that will remain in the long run unless they fix several issues with it that I'm seeing already.
How come you never test this shit on sorcerers.net.. why is Codex always your dumping ground for this shit?
Its a perfectly normal non-intrusive advert, goym.
Isn't this supposed to be bought with potatoes ?You don't actually need a single one here as long as you're a patron, given that you can turn off all the ads with an active site patron status.
Full page ads displaying when they shouldn't has been mentioned several times, yes, noted and reported.
You need to spend the potato you receive on activating ad-free, yes. It's not a very intuitive system, as I've mentioned to DU before...Isn't this supposed to be bought with potatoes ?You don't actually need a single one here as long as you're a patron, given that you can turn off all the ads with an active site patron status.
I spent some years ago to deal with this shit, let me check ...

Why don't you simply do a Codex fundraising drive from time to time instead of this bullshit? They're up so that they help pay the bills the Codex generates every month
About that. You might want to add ways to donate anonymously. Having DU threaten to dox my first name in the Theo drama thread was a bit insulting. I don't think people will want to support the site if being doxed is in the fine print. If you want to disable all the ads, support the site you can't live without with a few bucks and gain ad-free access the legit way.
So I open this thread to complain about getting a 30 second add and it pops up again!

We already do occasional fundraisers when there are larger expenses like server upgrades to cover. For day to day operations, we're not going to constantly run around panhandling when passive advertising income can cover the bills same as on any other website and when we've already got a working system to enable ad-free access for site supporters. Anyone who wants to support the site already gets ad-free. Anyone who doesn't want to support it, wouldn't donate in a fundraiser to achieve the same effect either. Why don't you simply do a Codex fundraising drive from time to time instead of this bullshit? They're up so that they help pay the bills the Codex generates every month
What constitutes "anonymously" for you? There already is an anonymous donation option, but that doesn't attribute the donation to your account, because if it did, it couldn't exactly be anonymous? I don't know if writing out someone's first name without any other info actually constitutes doxxing, but still, I don't know the context behind your issue. I doubt that DU would do something like that, though.About that. You might want to add ways to donate anonymously. 30 second video ads will not be staying, if they can't sort that out, then we won't be using these ads. That's what this testing phase is for.Regardless, I understand not wanting to tell people how to get rid of ads, but 30 second video ads
Not Twitch, the ad provider, as a means for certain streamers to gain more visibility. I assume seeing ads with no streams pop up is either a bug or an issue on the side of the streamer. Is Twitch charging users for this?
