Well if you look at POE2 for example the obvious design decisions to pander to console fags (smaller party, per encounter spells/abilities, the massive increase in faggotry) made the game significantly worse than it had to be. Kingmaker at least feels like a cRPG.

You are hitting the nail on the head although many here will disbelief it and put their heads in the sand. You either get a twitch action game like Dragon Age 2 or a TB game with horrible inventory like all those asian jrpg's.

My hate for consoletards started when they completely fucked up F.E.A.R. 2 during the period 2006-2008. I was on the boards there when they were busy making it and we gave the devs alot of great tips to make the sequel even better. Clearly no attention was given to it and they fully consolized the game because profits would be higher if they catered to the consoles. The F.E.A.R. forum dwellers were outraged with what they had done! Ever since then, I hold a special hatred for all those that play on consoles, for those people where games have to be watered down to their level. Also 2005-2008 was the turning point where the pc community from now on could only play consolized games (except for strategy games). A good example was Alan Wake that had so much potential (potential wasted).

I liked DA2. Sure, its combat was made more console friendly, but that was a good thing. Remember Origins was also a consolized turd, and the pretense of tactics only ruined the flow of the game. I am glad they ditched that and made it more action-y, thus we could focus on the story more. DA2 was no masterpiece but was definitely the most enjoyable game in the series.

Some 'tards may manage to ignore DAI's terrible combat, and focus on other things, even if those other things are diversity romances. But if you ask them, they will say Inquisition isn't a complete turd.

In the end the consensus seems to be DA:O was promising, and everything on was a magnificent train wreck.

The only good thing in DA-2 was its tactics system. They refined the idea of scripting that was very strong in DA: O (at least with mods) and made it almost a perfection. When a fight on Nightmare difficulty can be resolved almost automatically, by proper tactics, it's brilliant. I miss it so much.

Unfortunately, horrible main story and continuation issues in Deadfire do not allow me to enjoy this A.I. programming again.
