You can bang the guy from the farm, they go to the bush, do a lot of oooh ahhh o wow for a minute and cheap porn music is playing all the time. I'd pick Fallout 2 any day over this shit.
You can bang a lot of people, if you have the right stats. If anything the game is more sex infused than fallout 2, but only if you build the character for it.
Which brings me to my next question, are there any personality boosting items?
I have taken an oath to repopulate the wasteland and a few manage to resist my charms even with per 9.
I also opened the safe but didn't knew that it is fixed.
Yeah you can fuck a lot of things in this game. I was on the fance because the first few were very degenerate, like cucking a guy while next to him or fucking a girl that her sister just got ravaged and killed.
Yeah I know, I did the quest this morning however you could star in a porno (multiple actually) in Fallout 2, it's also the only RPG I've played where you can legit whore yourself out for money, I've always wondered why they decided to add that stuff.
Game reminds me more of wasteland 2 then fallout and little of prince of qin. Lot of peasants around with nothing really to say. Combat is very simplistic. You can aim for body parts but I don't think there a point cause you can't cripple enemies. Luck stat seems pointless as even with 12 crit chance crits are rare and the stat not as useful as it is in fallout. Stuff could use explanation like what the difference between stab and slash they both seem do same damage yet one takes more ap. Game seems more conversation focused then fallout with stats like pers and att being necessary or most people ignores you and you miss quests. Equivalent to being a retard in fallout.
Oh should anyone be on the lookout for a rifle that is more than single shot very early on, 1 of the three worms boys has a hunting rifle. He never shot at me, I think the ammo he sells you may actually be the ammo he is meant to use. I recommend you take out the guy with the grenade first, as you can then sell it.
, there are a few notes from Tchaikovsky's ballet The Nutcracker weaved into the background soundtrack. Coincidentally, there's also a statue of The Nutcracker in the corner...
Oh yeah, but I meant it more in the way of characters one could come across. Like, say, some small guy talking about a music ritual so big it would push mankind into a new era, or some snobby pianist with six hands, etc.
I don't mean to bore you with my fucking life, but I'm having a blast with this game helping me to revitalize some old Rusky friendships. I keep posting screenshots from the game to them and asking if I get it right, and it's kinda hilarious. One, who is reading Infinite Jest in a long awaited translation that has just been released, has even said that this stuff is better than what this dummy of a translator has made David Foster Wallace to be in Russian. If that's not the best (and wacky/zany at the same time) compliment, I don't know what is, lmao.
This may sound a bit cliche/idiotic, but Atom is probably the best video game experience I have had in the recent like five years. I could have said much more but let's leave it at that. I just hope that Atomboy and the team get some sweet monies on top of their daily expenses from the sales. Cheers, my dudes, you deserve that!!
Lol bataille, I just wanna take this moment to say reading about your adventures makes us so damn happy! :D Its awesome how much stuff there is, that even we kinda forgot. Thank you!
There are some timed quests, usually when someone is sick. Like there's this one guy looking for treatment and you have an in-game month since game start to do something about it. Same with wounded factory guy. The debt collection quest starts the countdown when you take the quest. Plus a few more situations like that. Bounty hunting for bandits isn't one of them, unless you mean the DEATH GANG?
Why do you hate us so? I mean I get the "piece of shit" part, it's a completely valid opinion (that usually comes from people with ~1 hour of playtime and a positive review for Doka 2 on their account) but BORING?! Now you're just being salty. We even made a circus. Did you see the fun circus? "Jokes" aside, you do you. We love your stuff!
How does one learn new crafting recipes in this game?
Does improving tinkering or technology unlock new stuff? Blueprints or trainers?
Of course I could try just experimenting, but that would lead to save scumming.

We're currently using the good old primitive way of having a dedicated Steam subforum you can post screenshots in. See, I don't know how hard it is to encode such a thing into the game, but we'll definitely be using it for the next RPG on our bucket list. Maybe in Atom too. I honestly don't know! Gonna send your idea to the progs tho!
AtomBoy, thank you for that editor. The game is awesome, it has some grim stuff, I pity that family that lost a daughter to a bandits. The atmosphere is top notch. Cant wait to sit in front of the PC and play it again.
the VSS you get by killing the guy in the roaring forest who is guarding his stash
seems like the best thing in the game is the aimed guns who have only 4ap/5ap firing cost so you can get two per round, and/or the burst guns who have 4/5 ap burst mode, but burst eats up ammo like crazy and the game is crazy ungenerous iwth ammo
also buy the quality combat knife, every build needs it
There are some better rifles and guns in general. CQC is currently pretty weak in end game despite our efforts, so it will get a nice content boost one day.
I spent like 20 minutes looking for the original post with this text :
I dont like the game's writing.
Its choke full of references. Its too zany and it feels like its written by an internet guy who is copying lurkmore.to
Actor portaits, phrases, even single words like Pazuzu, stalkers, 'serbia stronk', 'the guy she tells you not to worry about', over the top cliches... Feels like a theme park. Half the NPCs drop some ref.
But I didn't find it so I'm replying to a reply of that text!!
It's actually not that bad. See, for a year or so we've been getting bad Steam press along the lines of "They have so much Klyukva and I think so because every single person in the game looks like a Soviet actor!". Some of them I later added as friends and asked to name all the bad klyukva references and zany thingies just for the fun of it. Turned out that in reality out of 450 and then some NPCs we have like around 10 at the very most, whose likeness was taken on purpose from our favorite Soviet actors. And when we did, we did it for a reason. Other times? Maybe an unlucky find while looking through stock images like the Iron Fist guy. Some are just lookalikes. Like many people think the guy from the worm encounter is Belarus president Lukashenko when in actuality he is Cool 70's guy free stock photo no copyright png for free gnu licence free stock image. Or like that time fans of some actress told us to remove her portrait, when in actuality the portrait was based on a stock person, and we even sent proof.
The fact that you easily notice a reference doesn't make the reference overabundant. Honestly, it's like seeing a bad word written on a single brick of a tall building and going like "Ha! I figured it out! It's the legendary Building of Insults! It's made of only that special kind of brick." Now the Serbia strong and some other stuff you mentioned - here we really are guilty. By association. If you see something really strange written on a wall somewhere, you know it's one of our awesome backers having his money's worth :D
Come on dude! That's just offensive. Lurkmore? So in 2018 I was copying the style of a 2008 website that's not even available anymore? Well two can play at that game! You took your comment straight out of fomenko ru!!!
Now the floating rock... That - we will fix.
Tried this game, didn't like it one bit. It is fine, for a 15 euros game, it is an indie little RPG after all. It is a nice try from the russian guys and i will certainly anticipate any new game they make, as they do have potential, but for me, Atom is just a Fallout 1 clone that is severely worse than the original. And i don't think Fallout 1 has aged well either...
Things i didn't like:
1) Dialogues are a slog. They are very generic + no voice acting = boring experience. Back in the 90s i didn't have other games to play and i was a little kid so i could excuse it, but in 2019(minus a few days, spergs)? Nope. Not to mention Fallout 1 had much more color in the dialogue anyway. I wouldn't complain so much about this if dialogues weren't important in games like these. I typically don't care much about dialogue in combatfag games.
2) Combat is barebones and has no challenge. Your typical square grid that does not matter at all because positioning rarely if ever matters. Most melee enemies rush you in a turn and ranged enemies are ranged. I didn't find any use of cover, but i think it does not have cover, so positioning in the end is totally irrelevant. To contrast the lack of genuine challenge, they made the game cheap, with leaving you with no weaponry at the start (but you are a kung fu master no matter what so it hardly matters) and making encounters with special forces mobs happening all the freaking time... That's not "challenging", that is "cheap". If you wanted to fight Bruce Lee, sending Chuck Norris against him would be a challenge. Rushing him with 100 wimps would be cheap...
3) The world felt very static. Again, it is 2019 (minus a few days, spergs). Making a spiritual successor != making a direct clone. In the 90s it was excusable but now it just feels cheap. NPCs almost never move or do things, things never seem to have a life. They are just "there". NPCs typically don't interact with the world and don't seem to react to changes. For example that bandit snitch in the first town, after having his cover blown by a complete stranger who just entered the town for the first time 10 minutes ago, but somehow no one else figured out he was betraying them for months, he just stood there. He was like "oooh ok, now you know i have been stubbing these people in the back for a looong time, i will give you time to think about if you are going to snitch on me or not, i will be standing right here until then, no worries". Seriously? And this leads me to the next issue:
4) Dialogue skill checks are gross, irrelevant, badly designed, and end up just frustrating the player. Seriously, if you want to know how to do skill checks, see New Vegas. You took a great concept and implemented it in the worst way possible. So i discovered that fucking snitch (with no skillcheck mind you), i told the mayor, and now that i want to get him to an abandoned building, i have to pass a gamble check, or a strength check? There was a 3rd check but i dont recall, i uninstalled the game already, but the point is, i couldn't continue with the quest because there were like 3 dialogue options to get him to follow me somewhere so i can kill him, and all of them were behind stupid skillchecks... Look russian guys, this is BAD DESIGN. If a player needs to have a meta knowledge of your game, before he can even play it, then it is not immersive, and if it is not immersive, then it fails as an RPG and as a video game. A player should never be punished for not having anticipated that he needed to make a character exactly like YOU wanted him to make it, or play exactly like YOU wanted him to play. Age of Decadence had the same problem. Games designed for autists... So you want to tell me that i can't tell a guy that i want to go to an abandoned building to play dice, because i am not the best gambler in the world? Only the best gamblers get to pretend they want to play dice?
5) The camera was shit. Seriously. I hated that i had to reposition it constantly when entering buildings, it was cumbersome. I had the same problem with Neverwinter nights 2, which is why i uninstalled that shit as well. I don't care if you have the best RPG in the whole universe, if you don't make good controls and camera, you are out. A game cannot be enjoyable if you constantly have to fight its controls, UI, or camera. But this is a fixable issue i believe. You can improve it. I hope you do, because really, it does make a bad impression. At the very least, make buildings transparent when near them, no matter the angle. That would improve things much.
In the end, it is not bad for a small indie game. Obviously people crazy with the original Fallout may like this game, i have outgrown Fallout 1 and 2 many, many years ago, and i think they are overrated, so obviously something that merely clones them wouldn't do much for me anyway. Still, i am glad this game exists and don't get me wrong, i hope it sells well and these guys improve on their formula and skills in the future.
That's my 2 cents, now the butthurt fanboys please spew your venom
Okay! This I'm taking as what it is - your naughty attempt at trolling the fanboys. While I don't think we even actually have fanboys, just awesome guys who liked the game, but won't feel violated after reading this overacted critique, and while I think you have a few very valid points and you actually meant some of this, you're not getting an awesome step-by-step reply, because we both know you're not reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally serious! Camera and combat issues, though, really are a thing. And the mushrooms really are annoying. We might do something about those!
Something I really don't like is how companions often have odd pathfinding and frequently take routes that I haven't cleared, sometimes even running ahead.
Also it seems they are unaffected by radiation/poison? Can't I just abuse this to clear out highly toxic areas like the death tunnel before moving though myself?
Yeah, that pathfinding really is an issue right now. And the poison\rads... Well... Yes. Currently, they don't react to it. But good luck abusing them to clear places out with that terrible pathfinding, amirite! :D
The circus made me queasy in real life. Something with it, the descriptions of all these people with various disgusting mutations. Kinda funny, because I can't think I ever felt like that from a game before. Couldn't wait to get the hell out of there.
Companions shouldn't be immune to radiation and poison effects
Some cheeky STALKER-like voiceacting, atleast for important characters, could add a bit of life to the game
Some sort of mechanic in combat regarding height difference would be good. It's rare that this becomes relevant but in the scrapyard you encounter a lot of enemies on towers who you shouldn't have line of sight on, but can still engage
Again, fix the typos. Also my female character still gets adressed as a man at times
more random encounter locations
make walking on the global world map a tiny bit faster
otherwise it's preddy good, any roadmap for stuff after release Atomboy ?
Agreed on the immunity thing. However, voice acting, although available, probably won't ever see the light of day. We just don't feel like a voice, any voice, even if you put the writer himself behind the mic, will do the thing that text does in your head as you read. Maybe we're just too much into books or something. If we had talking heads like in Fallout they would probably get their voice. But a tiny model on the screen suddenly speaking in a voice... Just didn't work for us.
We'll add some animations that may react to elevation, though. The typos are being worked on. As well as the rando locations. Now the walking is a whole issue. I can get how it may seem slow (bcs it is) but some like it. Might be getting a poll or something like that, soon.
Thanks!
What bother me, is text in Russian, because I saw screenshot with phrase "not my cup of tea" in Russian, which is clearly anglicism and shouldn't exist in Russian unless very good reason stated.
Also, someone was asking about luck but I can't find the post.
Yes, LUCK is the most useless one in the System - it makes some skills go up more, it governs the crit, and that's about it. However, it's compensated by some in-game checks. From the top of my head I can remember a fight where like 10 end-game equipped soldiers surround you and you can do a luck roll which causes all of them to have a stroke, fall to the ground and die in an instant without you moving a finger, so there's that.
Anyone doing any aiming? So far only benefit I discovered is better aim in exchange for -1 AP... But shooting head, legs or hands has no effect. I can shot guy's hands 5 times in a row and not even damage changes. Is it bugged?
getting rid of the snitch. He shanks me to death quickly and my only reliable skills are martial arts. Can't find a pistol and I'm useless with the rusty knife I found.
Are there other ways to approach this combat situation that I'm overlooking?

Head and body have different damage resistances and thresholds, so it's better to aim at the head instead of shooting that shiny metal armour. But I doubt it's worth it unless you can spare the extra APs for aimed shots without sacrificing attacks.
1. where do you get the safe combo for first town nutcracker bunker
2. barkeep's sister wants me to gather her toadstools but I already sold them to her brother.. are there more later in the game or should I buy them back

Spider parts? When I killed the little spiderling things I didn't get any spider parts. Or ratling meat or anything, either. Is that for a different type of spider?
