You've heard of studded leather, now we bring you studded flesh! Why? Because modern aesthetics belong in medieval fantasy worlds!

Where everyone has basic hygiene down even in the smallest town, but no one's heard of running water!

Worldbuilding!

I never said that. Don't put words in my mouth.
Whose alt are you?

On another note, wasn't the EA priced at a discount? I played some of it over a couple of months after it came out, but I thought I remembered buying it in EA because I figured I was going to buy it eventually anyway so might as well buy it cheap.

Can I immediately attack fiends and fiend-adjacents in-game?

RIP 5e ridiculous gamebreaking smiting. WoTC just removed 'at will' from Divine Smiting in the preview of the next version of D&D, turning it to a spell with a cast-time of a bonus action. We get more smites on average though.

This game might be the last hurrah of the 5E Paladin, but it'll be delicilous.

WoTC shit their bed when they attempted to turn D&D into a live service and revoke the OGL. I suspect the next edition or iteration will be even less popular than 4E, and these changes really won't matter. 5E Paladin is boss in that edition though.

How about good Cleric builds? I haven't played D&D, tabletop and digital, since second edition.
Clerics are still beasts, although not as much as in 3e.

Coming from 2E keep the following in mind:
  • The default cleric now only starts with medium armor (which now also includes half-plate). Only certain subclasses (aka, domains) of cleric start without needing an additional feat to wear heavy armor.
  • Most buff spells and large AoE duration spells (like entangle) now require a concentration. Without extra late game talents, feats or items, you can only keep 1 concentration spell up.
  • Most minor buffs and debuffs now give advantage or disadvantage to your rolls or your target's, instead of small stackable numbers. In short, advantage means you get to roll twice and keep the higher number (on average meaning you'll roll 13 instead of 10) while disadvantage means roll twice and keep the lower number.
  • Numeric power increases come at a much slower pace in 5e. You won't see an increase in hit chance every level as a warrior, nor should you see magical gear with +8 bonuses.
  • Armor now counts for all damage types, there is no more difference between piercing, missile, slashing or bludgeon.
  • Multi-classing simply works in most cases by selecting a different class to level when leveling up. Separate XP tables for different classes are gone.

On a contrary, they actually increased the price. It was 199 potato moneys for about two years, and now it is 249.

You need buy it AFTER the release to get a discount. BEFORE the release early access games tend to rise prices to encourage people buy early access over buying it just when it releases.

Yes. My hope has been, this is if they had any restraint, that she'd be some kind of guiding surprise figure we'd meet towards the end. With some words of wisdom to share and something heartfelt to say to the fans.
But if she is in, it's going to be something absolutely embarrassing and over the top.
And they would have found a way to ruin her in between, probably somehow involving cuckoldry.

imoen was a demigod too, so she's bound to have an unnatural lifespan/existance.

INB4 the old lady from the druid camp is Imoen...

Yup. But they've been pretty clear when announcing every returning character from the original games. I'm expecting everyone from the canonical party being present either physically and/or via references, sidequests, items, etc. The issue here is that if they include Jaheira they might reference her romance as the canonical one. What if they include Aerie? Viconia died on her romance ending.
