D&D's Youtube channel did an an interview with the Lead Character Artist for BG3.

When asked

Is there one thing you are the most proud of?

When answering, the lady who's face is as wide as it is tall says

1. origin characters
2. dragonborn race
3. genitals

I found the Original Sins to be kind of a drag so I wasn't too interested in BG3 until recently, now I'm starting to think it might be worth checking out. What's the kurrent konsensus?

Judging from the EA, it's DOS 3 with way more content and a much higher budget due to the big name IP.

They also fucked up 5e in some ways but allegedly it's otherwise pretty faithful to the pnp rules.

I'll probably buy it and play it at some point, and then give up after the first act like I did with DOS 2. Unless there is high reactivity to me playing like a genocidal LG paladin, then I'll see where it goes.

I was expecting a monstrosity, but she looks normal.
The Flanders (where Larian is situated) are quite conservative. If you want to find monstrosities in Belgium, you'll (mostly) only find them in the 'Green' party and the media based in the capitol.

To try first run on Tactician mode or not... That is the real question.

I didn't play through DoS2 to the end. How bad are Larian when it comes to combat design/balance?

And it's not even a good excuse to prevent preloads. The game is releasing in sub-48 hours.
Who gives a shit about people playing EA? They won't be able to continue those runs shortly anyway. Makes far more sense to dump EA and go right to preloads for the masses

They claim that STEAM doesn't allow pre-load for titles already out on EA, but that sounds a bit fishy. Not sure if it's true.
It is. For that to be possible, they would need to have two separate titles available, which is not that common. I expected that they would move the current EA version to a beta branch and have the full version as a preload, but that is also not possible due to how files are encrypted for preloads.

The math adds up. If people are playing on 0.9 and you implement pre-load for 1.0, then EA players would be updated to 1.0 and have their saves broken, and 1.0 would still have to be locked until release, so at that point nobody could play either version. Don't fuck your EA testers.

EA is long over, as is EA testing. Larian submitted the game files for Steam distribution quite a few days ago already, according to Swen.
Logical business sense would be to not piss off the paying customers on launch day, rather than worry about the relatively very small number still playing EA.

Fextralife just confirmed you definitely can respec SH into other domains

Nobody has made a statement to the contrary. What people are saying now is that respeccing class of class-sensitive companions will break plot/dialogue.

Because the update hints that this will be the case. Contrary to what Swen said (he specifically said the game would completely ignore companion respecs when it came to companion interactions).

MSAA is better than all the bullshit that came after it
SSAA - works on the whole image, very expensive in terms of performance, needs a lot of samples to look good

MSAA - only works on edges, does nothing for "crawling" or flickering textures, much cheaper than SSAA in terms of performance

FXAA/SMAA - post-processing based AA that is much cheaper than MSAA but produces a blurry image

TAA /TXAA - adds a temporal dimension to the AA, yields much better results than MSAA with the same amount of samples but introduces motion blurr

DLAA - it's TXAA on steroids. Uses tensor cores or eliminate temporal artifacts and handles fine detail much better than TXAA

I'd say DLAA is currently the best anti-aliasing solution, by a long shot. 8x SSAA might produce even better results but it's unreasonably expensive in terms of performance. DLAA produces the best results in its performance class.
TXAA is garbage. It blurs the entire screen. DLAA also makes things blurry and can cause flicker and other weirdness on top of that. It's shit. Return to tradition. Bring back MSAA. "Only works on the edges" makes it sound worse when that's actually the benefit. You only want AA on the edges or you end up with blurry bullshit.

SSAA is dumb because it's just downscaling from a higher resolution. You should just play at a higher resolution instead.

If you like TXAA you should just smear Vaseline all over your monitor. You'll get the same effect with no performance loss.

Swen needs to be careful before he gets into Peter Molyneux/No Man's Sky territory.

Then again, why not just keep going? Reputation has almost no effect in this industry because consoomers are retarded. The best marketing strat is just to keep lying out of your ass nonstop until launch and then just pull an "oopsie, we didn't want to crunch!" card.

Then spend a few years trickling out updates until your rabid playerbase defends your honor like some simp with an anime waifu crush.

So? I put hundreds of hours into Wrath despite my better knowledge.
Don't you have anything better to do???

Seen a few remasters of PS3-era games offer CMAA as an alternative to FXAA, and while it's still relatively basic and low demand it seems way better than FXAA in most cases. Especially text, doesn't turn it into a mess.
