Getting closer and closer to the ending. Loving the game, although I do have some gripes. Half of them have something to do with the crime and attitude systems.

They suck massive, multi-headed dongs. Had a quest bug out on me yesterday so had to interact with those systems to solve it in an alternate way, and spending one hour on that cancer has me traumatized for life
my first "crime" wuz looting gobbo that nigga will killed in gate battle.

Today, I've had two friendly NPCs turn hostile towards me. One, because he was in the room when the duration of the control spell on the elemental ran out, and for some reason he decided to side with the elemental once the fight restarted. I had to reload and redo the boss fight, because I already sank 8 hours into keeping this particular shitbag alive, why not invest 10 minutes more. In another instance, Minsc decided to kill me because I finished off a knocked out cultist, whom he apparently regarded as a dear friend.
I won't even talk about the halberd jannies keeping you out of half the quest locations. The less is said about restricted areas, the better.

At least you don't fall for killing goblins anymore.

I dunno what’s my favorite. The annoying near-damage immune all-seeing stealth sentries, the fact that guards will initiate conversation with random party members and Larian’s shit dialogue system won’t let you swap to the party face so it’s a coin toss whether you can do anything in that conversation or that the system is inscrutable enough that the sound of combat can either summon guards from halfway across the map or alternatively let you kill someone right next to a guard who is seemingly oblivious.

Game is great, but man I hope yesterday was the final time I had to pay any amount of attention to that shit. Of course it didn’t help that the bugs started to show up in force yesterday as well.

Whoever their sound designer is, he seems to enjoy loud sound cues - especially drum impacts - whenever possible. I have yet to play, but when I watch combat videos, it's the Inception trailer all over again.
BOOM! WOOSH! BOING! every time an ability is selected
It brings back impressions of D:OS, something I want to actively suppress. Wonder if there's an option to disable it

Pierre did it first with his OGL3.5 game back in 2007 and carried it over into Kotc2. Not only that, he did a superior job when it came to implementing the 3e ruleset and programming the AI to utilize it. And then there's the fact that you create six characters and go through either an enjoyable adventure throughout the countryside in Kotc1 and a tech demo dungeon in Kotc2 that make his games superior in every way to Bioware's approach (Larian is directly emulating Bioware in this game).

It is not just Larian but 5e itself. 3.5 was just too bloated for its own good which caused stalls in gameplay as you had to remember constantly what did what cause everything was conditional. There was also stat bloat so combined you sat more thinking about every single action you do instead of playing actively using tactics. Because how 3.5 was setup tactics also were very limited. 5e is very simple to play with bloat gone so instead of thinking about host of feats you have and conditions you need to use them everything is plain and clear and you just focus on playing itself. 3.5 with Larian design would be mess as well.

5e feels to play like 2e + some more active actions which is great.

I think you just know the system too well. For me, Tactician feels just right, had to reload the harpy fight after a TPK despite silencing them they had a couple of lucky rolls and that was it

Hirelings are interesting.

I thought there were 8 hirelings only but apparently if you hire someone then someone else pops up in list so you can hire more and more. I thought that they were completely random but they don't look shit and they have their own unique description. So there is whole premade list of them that swap out.

It is a shame that they didn't give them 5-10 unique lines at start and 10-15 along journey in key moments. (at least this is what i understand about them from introduction.). For some reason everyone thinks that everything need book worth of text.

Yeah, tactician is really hard for me. It's all pretty fair in early game until you reach gityanki and one chick there kills your whole squad in one turn attacking you six time with big two handed sword. Even on medium this is very tough fight i managed to beat only because i got lucky with Gale thunderwave that sent two archers into chasm and my main assasin type had drow poison coated blade that got shemonster and shadowheart blinded other one so he couldn't wake shemonster up. Once she monster was alone it was easy fight.

This fight thought me that AI also is pretty great. When I approached stealthy fight first taking out shemonster and dude with drow poison, archers just said nah and one dude came to them and woke them up with unarmed strikes like nothing.

Shaddy doesn't like wolves. If you encounter them during combat, she'll do a Frightened check. Edit: it actually leads to a small out of combat dialogue, nice.
A small bit of out-of-combat dialogue that Shadowheart delivers to most players before ever encountering any wolves. :M

If you've just fought the harpies, you're probably just 2nd or 3rd level. The power of your party members improves radically once they reach 5th level, at which point warrior-types receive a 2nd attack per round, wizard-types can cast 3rd level spells which include haste and fireball, and even clerics gain that Spirit Guardians 3rd level spell, among various other abilities and spells. Granted, I'm still only in the Underdark, so things might change later.

Question for ppl who play evil playthrough about ending of chapter 2
If you helped kidnap successfully Isobel (without her dying cos quest didn't want to work) and you met Ketheric after giving him Nightsong, does game still end up making you prisoner of the cult?

The Kingdom Come Deliverance problem?

Fact that you can kill half of a settlement, spend a short time in jail / rest and everyone is then totally cool and buddies with you hanging out in the now half deceased area?

---

How are you people going through so quickly? 30 hours in and still on Act 1. Enjoying actually taking in the atmosphere / lore in each area.
MUST check EVERY vase / crate / container.

My first crime was looting one of the Goblins in front of the Druid enclave. Wyll is extremely possessive, even of kills he can't be arsed to loot apparently.

You have to play a game to be able to judge it on its own merits.

BG 3 does a lot good and also a lot bad. You can say that a game has some good points if those exist, and the same for what it does badly (I actually think music is top notch/but zoomer-level cringe writing at some points)

It's hilarious how fanboyism and internet vitriol has made it impossible to discuss something like RPGs, on a RPG forum.
Just ignore retards, some people come to the codex just to be in constant butthurt mode and spamming in threads about games they don't like because of some political agenda they have.

Woman having an important role in a fantasy game? They want to make us cucks!

Black person as a recruitable character? Clearly want us all to accept illegal immigrants!

Can select wrong genitalia in character creation? They want to make us gay!

It's SJW in reverse - just as retarded and annoying, but it seems some people can't just have fun or ignore and play something else if they don't like it. They have to be in constant butthurt mode about everything that doesn't please them.

If they saw somebody on the street eating shit, they would join, only to complain later how could somebody eat that shit.

But many of them would secretly enjoy it.

My Paladin has taken a vow of chastity, hence he will never know the body of a woman*.

He may silently and secretly exercise an ennobling love for a certain Lady, but he will never speak of it, except in prayer.

He will act with bravery and honor in battle and be inspired for deeds of justice and Good, in order to elevate himself to be worthy of Her.

* So goes for any man, bear, or any other beast.
** The Half-orc pimp will be another playthrough.

Wait, how do you roll for stats? Or is that not allowed on 5E? Lol what kind of self-respecting RPG doesn't force you to spend 5 hours on your character creation screen? This is gay.

[EDIT] Races have no stat bonuses either. This shit is uber gay, gayer than the bear shit.
You roll for dick size instead

Pretty disappointed with wizard. Preparing at any time is good but nothing they can do can compare to twinned haste

Seriously you guys are overpowered or you just know 5e too well.

Most are complaining the game is too hard lol.
Speaking of overpowered, I'm reposting the exploit for a full custom party: https://youtu.be/ILW0FDkJcCs

You said you entered Act 2 at lvl7, while it's likely intended for lvl 5 though
