Blizzard announced "Classic" World of Warcraft

All his criticism of Blizzard and WoW are largely accurate.

When you begin criticizing a company/game for many years and see no real change being done to make it better yet you keep streaming it every single day of your life and giving it thousands of viewers there comes a point when a company like Blizzard says, "who gives a shit, he'll keep playing."

And that is the tragedy of the WoW playerbase. Blizzard can shit on them endlessly, they'll bitch, but they'll always be there at the end of the day. They need WoW.

Nail on the head. As a slightly off-topic mini rant this extends to piracy as well. People don't seem to understand how ineffectual they are when they say that X game or Y company sucks ass but they'll still pirate and play the game. Y company is going to look at the piracy numbers and think that this is how much interest people have in their product, they just need to figure out how to make them paying customers. The only way change could be done is if people just completely ignored the stuff they claim to hate.

And if you want to see how cucked Blizzard's fanbase/infl00encers are, just look at the Shadowlands shit.

There's people that are hyped/excited because they're giving you back abilities you had ten years ago. Shadow Priest for example is getting Devouring Plague again after it went MIA for the previous four or five years and to them this is "Blizzard learned, they're listening."

You see this shit on WoW shills. They'll criticize to keep their audience happy/shed their image as rimlickers but the very second Blizzard decides to expand your character by making them a step closer to playing like it's 2010 again is when they eagerly release their hype video.

That's why WoW will never be close to becoming a good game. All Blizzard has to do is no longer make a talent or ability invisible to you, add in some lame as shit expansion gimmick that'll be dead in 1.5 when the next one comes out, and maybe some cosmetic options and that is that.

Blizzard are so creatively vacant when it comes to WoW classes that there has not been an actual talent row added since 2014 and when they do give your class a new toy you find out it's an old toy but spray painted.

Until the shills man up and actually leave, until the average WoW player stops being a mark and goes away, it'll always be shit and we'll be sitting here preferring to play a version of WoW that was better but in the grand scheme of gaming was what killed any hope of MMORPGs becoming the visual D&D/MUDs they were originally envisioned as.

there would also be the question why you would be happy to get back a spell you clcik every few minutes and that does damage. its not like it changes gameplay in any way or makes it more fun or complex, its just a dot.

The only thing I require from blizzard is fun class play and no grinding between raid tiers. Yet they are incapable of providing either.

Classic guilds are mega-autistic these days so get used to seeing a Rogue have to plead a court case to roll on Perdition's Blade over a Warrior tank.

Yes, I actually saw this before I quit. The Warrior was going on about his threat generation with a dagger while the Rogue had to constantly type out "Combat Daggers" and "Backstab." Keep in mind the whole instance was so braindead easy that the Warrior had zero problem holding threat. Suffice to say there was a gquit exodus of Rogues after the Warrior received it.

Edit: Oh and the other argument was the Rogue also won a Nightslayer piece beforehands while the Warrior got nothing all night. Listen up niggaz, "round robin" is faggot shit and will make people question why you're giving +5 Dagger skill gloves to a Feral Druid over the Rogue.

Classic was never going to be vanilla because the autists were always going to meta it into the ground.

I got sick of getting all world buffs every week for brain dead easy content and quit classic. Plus parsing is so RNG when fights last under a minute, one or two crits makes a huge difference. Completely unfun.

I don't understand the need for overbuffing the shit out of your dude like 2 hours before you go to do a raid. I guess I'd get it if it was some curiosity trip to see how fast you can blitz down an MC or BWL run but to make it borderline mandatory every week seems like a maddening waste of time and effort.

The only fun in Classic is to world PVP with maxed out Engineering or doing troll shit like standing on the opposite faction's flight master in Gadgetzan so lowbies right click you by accident and aggro the truck-hitting guards. All that parsing/topping charts in raids stuff never appealed to me in the slightest. PVE in WoW for me when I actively played always amounted to a necessary evil so I can just fuck with people in PVP at the end of the day.

can't you just join a guild of chill people who don't care about world buffs/other bs and play for fun?
idk I dont play this game

I do remember being suspicious that I was the only human mage and literally every other mage I encountered was gnome during the week that I played, however

As a feral druid, I got fucked by the somewhat reverse stupidity. The raid leader gave this item to a dps warrior instead of me and I was mad because it's very good for tanking. Instead of understanding that this item is better for a rogue than for a druid, he just remembered that this is not for a druid, and just gave it to the first person that was not a druid (no rogue wanted it). His bullshit excuse was the +5 dagger stuff, which is especially ironic since dps warriors never use daggers.

In all my years of raiding in WoW, I only found a guild that was both relaxed and competent once. But then 2 weeks later there was server migration and half of them did it, the other half was too relaxed to click the fucking migrate button, so it fell apart.
During boss pulls, nobody was talking like they were experiencing 8 g-force, everyone talked like it was just a game, which it was. And everyone performed very well.
After a wipe, nobody was tense or passive aggressive, nobody yelled, everyone was chill and joking around, it was very unusual.

Best 2 weeks of raiding in my life. Never to experience again...

Warriors are probably the main reason I quit playing Classic in February. "World of Warriorcraft" went from a meme to an actual thing. The vast majority of our 40-man DPS came from one class, warriors.

I like Classic in general, and I'm certain the designers never intended warriors to be so OP. It just destroys the variety and roleplaying. Unfortunately "No Changes" means that meta-knowledge rules the day.

I think TBC fixes most of this, and I know DPS is balanced in Wrath. So if I decide to play again, that will be the first thing I verify. Classes need to be relatively balanced across their roles.

All the top raid guilds having 15+ warriors in their roster is just dumb.

Unfortunately in TBC I think Hunters/Warlocks are going to be the main thing to stack while Rogues are actually fairly weak and really find their place/succeed in PVP. They're okay early on in Karazhan but as content progresses you're going to see a lot more range DPS emerge since a lot of raids in TBC are shitty for melee.

Then again as long as you get to do Karazhan you basically did the best raid in TBC anyways.

Personally I wish they'd just skip to Wrath. TBC was a lame expansion and has some of the ugliest art direction with its pseudo sci-fi bullshit running rampant.

I did everything there was to do in TBC, I can't see the appeal for players like me to do it again. I farmed the Netherdrake, I got into BT before they removed the key requirement, I killed Illidan before Sunwell came out, I was class leader in multiple guilds, I did it all. I'm not going there ever again.

Cool, I understand. I did what you achieved bar Netherdrake (never liked the looks of them, Cenarion Hippogryph for life!) and had an absolute blast while doing it, which in large part was due to the fact of being in a fantastic guild.
Recently (last year) I have played on Netherwing PS up to killing Gruul. This satisfied my nostalgia and I don't plan to play TBC Classic (if it ever releases). Not that I play Classic anyway.

Nevertheless, I stand by my opinion that TBC was the best WoW expansion.

In my guild it was only sort of mandatory. You could go some weeks without getting them but eventually you'd be booted to team two. I got all the buffs most weeks because farm raids are only fun when you are trying to rank. Blizz should have opted for the same solution as some private servers, entering a raid instance clears all world buffs.

It was better before guilds even existed. The internet was fun when it was young and cool.

Just buy Shadow Panther Hide Gloves from AH (or pick it up on ZG runs). 5 less stam and no resists, but 43 more armor.

With my countless runs of LBRS to get the gems for the UBRS key, I eventually ended up with https://classic.wowhead.com/item=13258/slaghide-gauntlets (of the Monkey) with even more armor. :)

I still want the MC gloves for the resists, but my post was a also good illustration of how people (me) can get butthurt over guild politics/retardation. ;)
