CD Projekt's Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 + Phantom Liberty Expansion Thread

Is so sad see some codexer defend this disaster of a game. And again this thread should be in general gaming as Cyberpunk is NOT an rpg.

PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath
The car is just the horse from Witcher 3, and just like that horse I barely use it because usually the fast travel and sprinting combo is just as fast.
I get that argument, but it doesn't work as an excuse, because of the incomparably greater amount of work that went into producing all those driveable cars. Then again, I don't see much to be excusing the game for, as the driving in itself is solid. Yes, you can't run over people as effectively as in GTA, but as has been said in numerous intervews, going crazy in the city is not the game's focus. Same applies for going on a killing spree while on foot.

, it is the same kind of shit of Witcher 3
From what I've seen so far Witcher 3 is the superior open world game. Most likely it will also be the superior interactive movie, thanks to the characters which are way more developed, if for nothing else, just because it's a third game in a series.

My advice is to play on normal and play as a stealth game
I seem to have hit that playstyle exactly and I can't really complain of the gameplay, but my expectations are not high, and wouldn't go comparing the stealth to Thief lol.

Well, if you're enjoying this shitty shooter, mediocre RPG mixed with a shallow open world but with some pretty visuals here and there and a cool setting, that's fine then. Everyone has their tastes.
Yes, well put. The million people on steam also have their taste, and they probably like the game to a varying degree.

Nothing he's getting old jaded and impossible to shock , yes there's dark themes in the game but it feels a bit tame still for me too.
To be honest I'm so far underwhelmed by the "dark themes" as presented in the game, but maybe it's too early to form impressions. Compared to Witcher 3 again, CP77 seems more edgy but not really developing on the dark sides of the city too much. I guess it could follow from the PnP setting which is both shallow and implausible, but I was with high hopes about the treatment CDPR would give it.

Having legendary isn't an issue even if you have one from start. Because in order for it to stay relevant you need to upgrade it and legendary parts are not something you can get easily, moreover most of "legendary" power comes from mods and at low level you don't have almost any mods and don't have any money to buy anything worthwile.
I'm not into this MMO shit, so can someone please explain - if I have one common hat that has more armor rating than an uncommon hat, what's the point in having the uncommon hat? IMO even from upgrades perspective the common hat would be better, because it would be cheaper to upgrade. What do I care that the other hat is "uncommon"?

dystopias are a cringe anyhow

there is a reason why the "wow cool guns" meme happens and it's because dystopic themes are generally myopic and uninteresting unless executed tremendously well and you share the same core political values as the author

and they absolutely don't belong in video games

Let me translate from Disappointed SJW Speak to English- "There is not enough white cops murdering dindu nuffins good boyz like Saint George Floyd, there aren't enough redneck white men lynching trannies, there aren't enough sexual assaults on danger haired lesbo hamplanets by cis-gendered white male scum, there is no Donald Trump dictator in the plot"

These people need to be culled from society sooner rather than later because they WANT dystopia consciously or sub-consciously. They attract chaos as most mentally unbalanced people do.

Oh yeah as if the side missions involving child porn and human trafficking were not "dark". Nah, thats not dark for these people. They want to see evil fascists calling someone improper pronouns.

Nigger, that's the point - you don't need to wait for 2077 for child porn and evil big corporations. Biden sniffing kids on camera and his son fucking his underage nephew and big corpo censoring PRESIDENT OF FUCKING USA is already reality. You can't meet your family for christmas or attend your father's funeral, but looting and murdering is ok. And no one cares. Today is already much darker and more fucked than whatewer shit edgy poles tried to stuff into their game about dystopian future 60 years from now.

Played this shit a while, I don't know what the KKKonsensus is, but yeah, irritating quest compass and usual open world bullshit gameplay. Not any worst than the Witcher 3 in that regard. I liked some parts of the gameplay, the ones that include actually having character stats (something I thought was entirely banned in AAA game), and the ones that felt like an immersive sim (there are some). The fucking cutscenes and such are irritating as hell though. In my opinion, open world narrative games are utterly ridiculous in design ; mainstream has started to catch up with this problem with, say, Red Dead 2 for example : it's archaic and needs to die. It's useless to give us a big environment if nothing is going to be emergent about it, and if you're going to hold the player by the hand in critical moments in the name of the narrative. Creates too much narrative dissonance, and ultimately a kind of distortion between "emotionally engaging" and an actual engagement with the systems ; cinematics always do that, more or less. I do like the big city though, I think it's a very nightmarish environment. This is pretty much Blade Runner in video game form, and I really do enjoy this postmodern, disgusting dystopian shit, it speaks to my black heart. It's really going all out, it's wonderful. From what I heard some people really bled out 80h a week to give us this ; RIP, your sacrifice is recognized, I drink your lifeforce for my entertainment, very good.

so this game just made me install Deus Ex Mankind Divided, It can't possibly as bad as this crapfest

cyberpunk is better than deus ex in every way

Main difference between modern Deus Ex games and this is the open world aspect. Everything in Deus Ex 3 and 4 is specially designed and driven by narrative, while Cyberpunk has your typical open world checklist design with lots of generic areas and minimal context for most of it. Outside of that they're roughly similar experiences, at least from my stealth pistol guy perspective.

I will say however, as I said a dozen pages ago or so, that Cyberpunk does better making its generic phone call "quests" feel unique compared to many games of this type. Most of them send you to specific areas designed for that quest, and with some flavor text here and there. Still it's nothing compared to a more structured and linear game like Deus Ex 4.

So you can magically turn a gun into bullets with a press of a button, magically manufacture detailed clothing from scraps at the press of a button, but you cannot remove a mod from a clothing item because "reasons".

I actually played mankind divided while i downloaded cybercuck 2077. And if im being honest, i want to continue playing mankind divided more than this shit.

I started playing with corpo and its prologue was shit. Dialog meh, there was no any real choises. It took about 6 and half to 7 hours to get to the logo without rushing and having afk;in at multiple times while eating etc.
So far i havent seen any interesting characters or quests.

Attributes and stats are completely pointless. I have like 7 attribute points and 7 perks unused, because im just too lazy to put them. Shops has nothing to buy and because they are gatekeeped to street cred or what ever it is, it means moment they have new stuff, you already have better stuff.

Combat is dogshit, AI is complete shite, world is lifeless and feels static, sometimes civilians dissappear or change into different when looking at the somewhere else for a moment, and the game is filled with graphical bugs like trees in the distance rendering through cars or that flying turd in the beginning. Also this probably has the worst turret scenes in gaming history, because of the lackluster shooting and that the car is always driving so slow. And its incredible how bad the driving itself is.

Also hate that you have to walk half hour to get to the next waypoint while every ten minutes your latino buddy says few sentences..and then another 10 minutes of silent walking.

Game is also extremely poorly optimized for how the game looks. I always thought Mankind divided was poorly optimized, but it actually runs better than this and has better graphics. Ofcourse if you have gtx 3090 and use rt maxed, then this game looks better most of the time.
Visually this game also is weird, that there are some scenes or areas that looks really nice and good, but most of the time it looks just ok and sometimes it looks like shit.

Luckily i used keysite to buy this game, so hopefully no money is going to cd projekt red. Still feels bad for wasting almost 50€ for this garbage.

Netrunners make good money tho.

You just get free cash from access points.

Also I haven't tried it but I legit think its better to delete a legendary and then make a new one which will autoscale to your level rather than upgrade it lol.

yeas but you need to raid shitload of access points to cough up 50k for just one mod or implant and in case of mods they are one time use so your 50k is like tears in the rain. Overall i am pretty fucking happy how economy is in game. You never feel like you have enough money. I said it already but it reminds me a lot TW1 and W3EE mod for TW3. Guns too, if you want to get one epic or legendary you need to prepare for easily 20k, i saw some for 50-70k. Seems like poor investment really.

In other news. Hacking minigame is pretty good. At start is is really simple and even idiot can solve it but later on you get more "demon's" and if you want to apply them all you need to basically solve complex puzzle and on top of that if you want that money it also ads on top of that. At start i was able to easily get everything i wanted but now i really fucking sweat on that bytecode and i already have upgrades for my hackur skills.
