Lol, the years of playing Gothic.

I thought that local shadowbeast was too fat to fit in the forest, so I had to cut him down a bit. Took a few attempts, because I forgot how to actually fight that thing.

The turtles kick my ass really hard though, they use molerat AI and animations, which are completely busted on anything with fat stats. I found frogmen to be way too tough for me too, I even tried luring them into the town, but they've just slaughtered everyone there. It seems that they have about the same stats as the elite orcs from the original do.

If so, hunting can be way more profitiable.

Devs have confirmed that there's no random / timed respawns, but there's extra spawns after quests as to not interrupt you while you're doing them

It's ok. Could have been better, could have been worse. I've played original Gothic 2 with bad translation and german voice acting so it's nothing a Gothic player can't handle.

Yeah but im trying to get some LP (getting a level up doing some quests) to learn how to take trophies from animals, so i try to avoid killing monsters like wolves and save them for later so i can jew more animal parts from them for gold.

Had no idea this was dropping today, pretty fucking hyped. Unfortunately I'm doing a completionist run of ELEX right now, and I don't wanna overdose on PB jank.

The two things I'm looking out for the most is the bugs and the translation. So far I noticed the achievement descriptions on Steam have pretty awful English translations, that worries me a little. Hopefully they also manage to replicate that good old Gothic feeling. I've seen so many mods that are so concerned with doing all sorts of impressive stuff with the original engine that they forgot to nail down the basic gameplay first.

DX11 mode is pretty nice, the game looks sharp.

I did everything again (but better tho) so that not a problem anymore, i forgot how good ol Gothic can fuck you over in this topic over but that doesnt matter, now i will use 5 save files.

This is a good market test for older style gameplay selling in the modern times.

I don't know for sure, but I'd be confident to say between Steam, GoG, and ModDB it's had over 15,000 unique downloads. Obviously a very rough estimate there, but it seems a likely ballpark.

So far it plays exactly like Gothic with similar progression, exploration, quests, combat, scary forests and stuff, but way prettier and with some additions like cooking, scribing scrolls, crafting ammo, new types of potions and other things. Haven't encountered any bugs so far.

I see people keep asking about quality of english translation, so I will dump some screenshots to showcase it below, make of it what you will.

The translation is serviceable and hardly worse than the English versions of Gothic 1 and 2. It really shouldn't get in the way of enjoying it for any English speaking fans of those games.

Just got my first save corruption too. Just a reminder to keep multiple saves, good thing i'm a paranoid save scummer.

PS. Eating a bunch of apples gives you 1 permanent str, can do this multiple times. Like in G2. Eating different food can give you +5 health.
