Zep--

I can see it now... all the Diablo retards running through the game spamming it without paying attention, then spending hours on the board whining about how they can't figure something out because they weren't paying attention to the items they picked up and where they came from. What would be even better is to add in a "sell all" shop button as well so the idiots would end up selling everything after they spam looted an area making it even harder for the morons to figure out what they missed, where, why and how. It would be delicious to be able to respond to them with "well... you could search every NPC in the game looking for what you sold, though likely starting over will be your best bet!".

97 hours in 10 days which gives 9,7 hour daily. Am i doing it right ?
No, you must go to job, and still do that.

Larian should do another Kickstarter for redoing Divine Divinity in DOS Engine after they wrap this up (perhaps with an enhanced re release like DKS )
Do you mean including the ending? The RUSHED ENDING? THE NEED TO PRESERVE SKILL POINTS TO BE OVERPOWERED AT THE END? I'd rather prefer releasing it as freeware with a small notice instead of the last few hours of game.
What is CC?
Choices and Consequences. A favorite of RPG codex.

Why the hel would you remake DivDiv, it wasn't THAT good. Just make a new game, they're getting better as they go.

Does anyone know about what to do in Silverglen when
you answer the mushrooms at the cabin of the white witch wrong (Scarletts random AI kicked in...)?
The journal says I should talk to ZixZax, but I don't get an option with him...

So, who is the Codexer named George writing for a website called "PC Games Center"?

Divinity Original Sin – A Majestic Incline!

With the release of Divinity Original Sin, the independent developer Larian Studious proved that Classic Turned Based RPGs can sell quite well if developed properly and there is no need for a quest compass, dumbed down the mechanics, holding your hand within the game or develop “Citizen Kane” cut scenes for immersshun. The game release was highly success and is still on Top Sellers on Steam. Without any Doritos advertisements and reviews, in the first days the game sold over 150000 copies, now probably reaching double that number, which for a independent developer that doesn’t develop dumb down RPGs for consoles, its a great achievement.

I haven't had a chance to play much in the last few days so I guess I am behind everyone now... so I have some noob questions! I haven't gotten past the first area yet, I'm around level 6 I think.
  • What the fuck is Tenebrium?
  • You can enhance gear with stuff like rubies and sextants and stuff? Are there recipe books for that? I haven't seen any. How much crafting do you need?
  • So far it seems like skill points are gonna be massively limiting (they feel like that to me right now at least). Do you get more than 1 per level at some point? The increasing costs seem pretty insane to me, have any of you really brought skills up to level 5 naturally? Wouldn't you need 5+4+3+2+1 = 15 points? That seems ridiculous. I'm really not a fan of "save up all your points when you level" systems, but here it seems extra bad because of the increasing costs and how few I get.
Other than that I'm loving the game, I robbed the city blind (frankly I spent something stupid like 10 hours doing that) and am now having a great time cleaning up the outskirts of the city. My characters are a rogue and battle-mage and so far I like them both, the rogue is super mobile and can set up fights for me (I tend to have her sneak in under invisibility to right behind a mage, one-shot it with sneak attack and then pyramid in the rest of my part to her). She also has some ranger skill and a good bow. The battle-mage started out weak but he's got good fire magic now together with MaA skills like the dash and knockdown, and tanks okay with his shield while doing pretty good melee damage with a unique mace I found. Jahan and What's-her-name are solid too of course, but everyone has those.

I have to agree with a few other people complaining about the backstab "region" on enemies, it just makes setting up sneak attacks annoying since I'm constantly having to reposition for 2AP and then I might be off by like 2 pixels from where the game thinks backstabs can happen. There's already a limitation to what weapons you can backstab with, so why not just make their entire back 180 degrees backstabbable? I don't think that would be OP since you can't backstab with bows, or 2-handers, or even normal 1-handers.

Alternately I wish there was like a "teleport behind" ability that rogues could use at short range (<3m or whatever) to just teleport directly behind someone into a guaranteed "backstabbable" region. Make it cost 2AP or something, that's about what it usually takes to get behind someone but without the guesswork of if you're close enough.

What's he babbling about? This game was hyped. Not like the Sims, Diablo, Halo, or GTA obviously, but still. It was pimped quite a bit.

btw, How many copies did the previous games in the series sell? Couldn't have been that bad if we now have DD 5?6?7? Seriously, I lost count. <>

Steam Workshop is finally open.

It is? I don't see the link in the store page, but yeah, I do see it inside of the Steam now.

But what about the editor? It can send the mod directly to the workshop, or it's still displaying error messages?

1) It's a material/ore, you'll hear more about it in the 2nd area
2) Yes, although they are a bit obscure sometimes. However, a lot of stuff can be found by trying and logical thinking
3) You gain at least 2 points later on

Put 1 point in marksman use Retreat, or wait until you get Cloak&Dagger skillbook.

Also stop reading this thread play for 60 hours. It's best when you play it your way and learn everything yourself (game is just p good for exploring and experimenting).

Aw workshop already up? I was hoping to sneak my mod in real quick but I haven't finished it. I guess I'll have to actually polish it now...

I have retreat, but doesn't that use more AP than walking would even? Plus it doesn't guarantee you get into a valid position for backstab, that's what I really want, a way to guarantee you're in the right position without having to nudge myself left and right this way and that.

And I don't really mind knowing things ahead of time or spoilers, they don't lower my enjoyment, plus honestly I'd probably have to play for 200 hours to get as far as you guys, I already have 30+ at this point (with 3-4 of that in beta) and I haven't gotten anywhere, heh. I take my time to a ludicrous degree I guess, I don't know how I manage to spend as much time as I do but my playtimes are usually like 2 times longer than what I see most "completionist" players list for themselves.

I'm quite surprised at all the 'tards this game has managed to attract though. I was arguing with some shitter who said that it's bad design to allow the player to use CC against the last boss fight. I asked him what about the people who have teams built with an emphasis on CC to which he answered that bad players need to be punished for shit team building. I just never got this mentality of expecting the last boss fight to trivialize all past tactics and interesting spells that aren't all just fireballs and degenerate into a banal tank n' spank.

Box finally arrived today, so "good" "job" Larian, it only took nine days instead of ten.

However, it's too late, I already started playing Dragonfall and it'll probably be Wasteland 2-time before I even begin to entertain the notion of downloading your 4 gig patch. Ya snooze ya lose.

Don't get your hopes up, it's not even remotely as good as Neverwinter Nights.
