So if game is linear then why i didn't kill Bracus yet ?
Because Braccus is just a side quest, AFAIK it is unnecessary to kill him - the game actually progresses by collecting a particular amount of macguffins.

It feels like this game has the opposite of the traditional RPG power curve: mages start out the strongest, but it's actually 2-handed warriors who deal insane amount of damage by the end game, with mages relegated to elemental manipulations and (de)buffs, mostly (which is still extremely useful, of course). My 19 STR 2-handed Cleric's Flurry is a thing to behold.

In light of that, an all-magic playthrough might actually be more challenging than an all-melee one.
Numbers please.

My witch could do 2000 damage with Oath of Desecration + Death Punch. No resists, no misses, 3 turn cooldown.
My pyro could destroy end game enemy packs with OoD + Meteor Shower without entering combat in 1 cast.
Sure resistances are a problem, but then there are summons. Undead Decapitator can can crit for ~400 damage.

I reached second map with melees and it is such a chore, really. MaT feels like worst skill tree. Scoundrel is decent at taking back ranks... if you act quickly and with precision... and enemies don't aggro on him... and you don't get random CC...

Guys,

I am in the place under the altar of the immaculate temple, found the book which tells me what buttons to press, seen the compass on the floor etc.. But where are the goddamn buttons? I can find two of em, the other two I can't seem to find.

Are there 2-handed crushing weapons in this game (mauls/hammers etc)? Haven't found any yet in the Cyseal map.

One at the bottom center of the stairs that lead down into the room, one on the eastern wall of the central room, and two to the northwest of the central room. That's just their approximate location, of course.

I swear there is at least one, but any crushing weapons at all in Cyseal -- there are scarcely any.

Also, how do I join the Immaculates? It's hinted I need to do something with a bloodstone -- and I have one -- but I can't get that priest in Silverglen to reveal anything more.

Ah thanks,

found them all except that elusive center stair button, my eyes are too old for this!

Original Sin looks like an open world, but it's not. The path is fixed, levelling slow, enemies don't respawn to help grind past problems, and a small level difference makes a huge difference.
:nocountryforshitposters:

"Slow leveling" is now a negative? Fuck WoW for ruining games.

I found plenty, actually (one-handed that is, dunno about 2handed).
OTOH, about 85% of all amulets I find give +1 loremaster.
Really, I've found enough to equip half of Cyseal already.

That priest should actually give you an assignment so you can join.

It has to do with the Books of the Immaculate.

It's on the central platform which has two stairways, left and right, leading down to the room proper. The button is placed pretty low there somewhere, iirc.

Neogaf said:
So, from the Eurogamer piece, Divinity: Original Sin Larian Studios' fastest-selling game ever, there was a part toward the end where Swen mentioned a license he's interested in for Larian's next game,

"Vincke then said he plans to try to obtain the license for a mystery role-playing franchise - but stopped short of saying what it was.

"There was a certain license we tried to get, but they haven't replied to us," he said. "Maybe now they will reply to us! I'm not going to tell you, because that will ruin the chances of me getting it.

"We asked them a couple of months ago, so we'll ask them again now. Maybe they'll be interested. It's in the RPG space, that's for sure.

"If they refuse to answer this time I'm going to put it in the press and then hopefully something will happen. Or I'll launch a Kickstarter and say, this is the game we want to make, but we don't have the license yet. But maybe we can get it this way."

In the Gamasutra article above, Swen says,

"Not many people remember, but one of our first games, which was cancelled during production because the publisher went bankrupt, was a game called The Lady, The Mage and The Knight," says Vincke. "We were trying this same multiplayer concept, and ever since it was cancelled we’ve been trying to remake that game."

Cancelled in 1999, The Lady, The Mage and The Knight was designed to be a three-player cooperative RPG based on the popular German role-playing game franchise Das Schwarze Auge, or "The Dark Eye."

I assume the point of the comment is to illustrate that they finally got to "remake that game" in the shape of D:OS but, reading between the lines, I can't help but wonder whether The Dark Eye might be the "mystery role-playing franchise" that Swen mentions to Eurogamer.
That...Might be correct.

EDIT: http://af.gog.com/game/divinity_original_sin?as=1649904300 Finally on GOG.

I have been contemplating a medieval WoD mod using the Divinity Engine. Immaculate units would work well as Tremere, but I don't think I can find an interesting purpose for the Imps/Orcs/Undead the game is so full of.

Hmm, for the undead a Cappadocian enclave maybe?

I actually flagged the place when was doing it, so if anyone has trouble with it,

I don't have Death Punch yet - I've only just hit lvl15. My Flurry is already about 2000 with Oath though, around 1300-1500 without Oath.

Interestingly, so far, my experience is the opposite. Man-at-Arms is probably my favorite skill tree, personally. Flurry, Cripple, Ram, Rage, Phoenix Dive, you name it. At the level than I'm at, none of the elemental spells do enough damage for me and too many enemies have fire resistances (or are outright healed by fire), so I'm mostly using mages for buffs/debuffs and manipulating the battlefield.

My Flurry does 130 damage :negative: I'm just level 10 though and it is on one-hander so far. My two-hander seems ok although I still can't find enough action points to make her better than her own skeleton summon.

Shadenuat Just reloaded my last fight and took Mangoth down in one hit with Flurry without any buffs. Here's the damage output:

308 Slashing dmg
102 Fire dmg
385 Slashing dmg
91 Fire dmg
Critical 721 Slashing dmg
236 Fire dmg
(he's dead at this point already but the combat log continues)
350 Slashing dmg
106 Fire dmg

That amounts to over 2000 damage already.

OoD works with spells? That's bullshit.

It does? I'm actually not sure. Need to test that.

Yup it does.

I guess I'll need to really pump weapon skills instead skill traits.

I like that OoD stacks with Berserker.

Can u post a screenshot of your supah girl? I am kinda wondering what her skills are
I guess it's not more complicated than max str/two-handed/MaT, it's just that all my guys hybridize a lot since I was experimenting with party. Guess I am spreading too thin.
And flurry does't look that much of a flurry as just a banal boring hit...

Oath of Desecration does stack with spells - it even updates the damage ranges in the spell description.

Protip if you hate slipping on ice and can't make nailed boots yet- if you take small steps (1 or 0AP only) your character will walk instead of running and won't slip.
