Today I was told that I'm an "uncultured gamer" because I don't like games with artistic value, such as Oblivion, but like Divinity Original Sin, which is a "shitty diablo clone". The world is a funny place.

I am also noticing that metacritic hasn't been including multiple legit reviews like the french one or another one i can't quite recall. Annoyed.

Do you know where the chest is? In the pocket dimension is a "last chest" who mentions finding 4 other chests, one in each realm. Where is the Cyseal chest? Searched everywhere, did not find. Help.

Softpedia gave it 9.5
Yeah, that one and the french one hasn't been counted in the mediacritic thing :(

Next to the cook house in the legionnaire camp- there is a small cul-de-sac to the right that lounges it.

That being said, there are no grounds on which to defend the writing, it's better written and voiced than previous Larian games but a slight improvement over mediocrity can only go so far. The characters are forgettable, the story is one cliche after the other, the tropes being paraded in front of you are just too many with too few twists to make it all interesting.

My advice to Larian for the future... give up on this ridiculous universe you have built, get your hands on some good IP, preferably Scifi, hire some decent people to develop the script, preferably someone who isnt in touch with his inner teen nerd, and proceed to make something beautiful.

I agree 100%. The game's writing almost reads like a lampoon of the RPG genre. It is to a game like Planescape like Spaceballs is to Star Wars. It suffers to be sure but I don't think it ruins the game. It is definitely one of the things I hope Larian improves upon in their next venture.

Hi everyone,

Our latest (small) update brings you the following fixes:
- Crash fix for send to homestead from a container
- Fixed encumbered being spammed when dead
- Fixed crash while saving during a SurfaceGrowAction (this should fix any issues with crashing when going into the tunnel under the graveyard in Cyseal for example)

We are currently working on finding the causes for more critical issues.

To those still having issues, thank you for your patience. We are trying to weed out the most important issues as soon as possible.

If you still have trouble playing the game, do not hesitate to contact us!

It's Larian. Their last game let you marry a hot elf waifu, or a lizard, or a skeleton with pumpkin tits. Anyone going into one of their games expecting deep stories and heavy lore will always be disappointed. But if you're one of the co-op fags you can cry about it to your partner and maybe share a tender moment.

I think you had wrong expectation for this game in therms of world design and narrative. Game is like that because they wanted to be that way. This is also the reason why art style is like that. Because art style and world building fits together.

But i agree i hope Larian will create completely new IP from ground up using their new engine. And hopefully they will go to kickstarter with it.

I would love to see more serious Larian.

And I would give them money again. I pledged $600 for D:OS a year ago and I have not regretted it for one second.

Speaking of mods. I'v been working on a mod that adds a couple of lvl 11 ambushes in second act (the one with a white witch) since i was left butthurt after being forced to fight creatures 2,3 or even 4 levels higher (which is a death sentence on 'hard') without any other way to catch up in terms of xp. There are plenty of empty areas to boot, so main routes will stay safe.

Anyhow, i might need steam drones to test it for me soon enough and workshop is still nowhere to be seen. Is it even coming ?

Yeah, no workshop is kinda sad by now. Some people already did a 4player co-op mod, and they can't put ir there.

There is workshop.

Just it isn't at game front page (where achievments and "news" are) but under community button at right of your game front page.
Just one mod though (cow simulator).

But i think people simply still playing game and they don't want to spoil themselves. I also plan to do some small adventures in editor but i won't start editor until i will be done with MC.

Or
encurage a fish thief to go ahead and take it because he has to eat too, then turn him over to the guard. Criminal scum!

So I went ahead and played the game for a while over the weekend. No other save-game-killing-bugs so far. Turns out I was lucky that one time.

Eh, I don't know. While I love a good story-heavy game like Planescape I'd prefer a game which uses tropes or cliches as a vehicle for their great mechanics than the other way around. And there's enough good stuff in there to keep me interested or at the very least, chuckling to myself. It's not groundbreaking writing of course, but it serves its purpose and pushes the player forward without handholding while often offering humorous and interesting pieces of storytelling. I think people are being overly hard on the writing since this place is so goddamned cynical the lighthearted nature of the game is just too much for them. I actually dig it and feel like this lack of "dark and gritty" is refreshing, and at the end of the day what I'm really looking forward to when loading up the game is the wonderful array of choices for combat strategies, freedom of exploration and just generally what Shadenaut mentioned in his review post.

Anyone going into one of their games expecting deep stories and heavy lore will always be disappointed.

I really do think it's safe to say that the mechanics were primary and story secondary. It doesn't really appear that this should be a revelation to Larian or anybody else for that matter.

Yeah, but no one can publish anything yet, as of what I read in the Larian forum, and in the workshop forum. There are 6-7 mods already, but no one can put them on the workshop, so... Even if it "exists", it's like it does not.
