Wonder if they actually got Tyrone Benskin back as Magic, 'cause he's definitely not reprising his role as Ice; sounds like they got a younger guy for him. You can hear it at the 1:00 mark. Lotta the mercs were still unvoiced in the preview build they sent out weeks ago.
Don't hold your breath for any of the original voice cast. (Whatever "original" even means considering how many JA1 actors didn't make it to JADG, and how many from JADG didn't make it to 2.)
I zero-in on him because AFAIK, of the original* (*circa-1999) VAs he's one of the few to still have a strong and active career. Along with Sonja Ball that is.

Sofia, Bulgaria / Vienna, Austria, May 17th, 2023: When people talk about turn-based tactics games, very often Jagged Alliance is mentioned as one of the legendary forefathers of the genre. So creating a new installment in the series, almost 25 years after the first one has electrified gamers around the globe, is not a simple task: The memories of those iconic games remain cherished, but times have changed, and players now have different expectations. Nevertheless, developer Haemimont Games and publisher THQ Nordic are proudly adding the long-awaited "3" to the iconic title, indicating nothing less than: Jagged Alliance 3 shall be a worthy successor and an outstanding strategy game when it releases on July 14th, 2023 for PC!

In the latest trailer, we're gonna spill the beans on what Jagged Alliance 3 brings to the table - and what it doesn't. Battle-hardened mercenaries who've conquered the previous installments might scoff and say, "Been there, done that." But for you unfortunate souls who've never tasted the thrill of a Jagged Alliance game yet (shame on you!), this rad new trailer will answer the burning question you've been dying to ask: What is the gameplay like? Does it focus on tactics or strategy? Is there a crafting system? And so much more... Find all the answers you seek in the thrilling new trailer!

Check the Explanation Trailer on YouTube: https://youtu.be/5t09aNdl18c

Mod support coming soon after launch
After Jagged Alliance 3 has launched, the developers will focus on giving the players the exciting opportunity to customize the game according to their preferences. Initially offering basic mod support, allowing players to modify weapon statistics, adjust difficulty levels, and even display the "chance to hit" percentage, the mod support for Jagged Alliance 3 will continue to expand and evolve post-launch. In due course, players will wield a powerful tool that empowers them to create and share their own campaigns, introduce new mercenaries, and explore possibilities beyond our current imagination!

Jagged Alliance 3 is currently in development for PC and is set to release on July 14th, 2023 at an SRP of $ 44.99 / € 44.99 / 39.99 £ and will receive a launch discount of 20% on Steam - wishlist here: https://thqn.net/ja3-steam

Collector's Edition
The Jagged Alliance 3 Tactical Edition is available for pre-order now at an SRP of € 129.99 / £ 114.99 and will release along with the game on July 14th, 2023. Please note: this edition is strictly limited.

Jesus Christ, is that narrator some kind of reference to a character I don't remember?
Might be Blood.

Or maybe Ice Williams? Weird pick as I don't think they're some of the more popular mercs.

Regardless, part of the charm of the mercs is that their annoying/cheesy lines are limited. I certainly wouldn't use one of them for a feature dive video. Except maybe Ivan or one of the more iconic characters.

Also the trailer is poorly written and cringy, I couldn't make it through the full 4 minutes.
where was game made? Maybe they get some sweet gov. money by adding enough nogs and cripples etc...

honestly though, the game looks pretty good, and genuinely looking forward to it...
It's Haemimont Games (Bulgarian devs, Tropico 3-5, Surviving Mars, Victor Vran). I'm probably repeating myself. Their games are just competent and I actually really like their city builders, but they have that "it was made for a publisher" vibe. You will not get that eastern european/german ambition bordering autism kind of game that I would expect from a JA fans. That ofc may be a good or bad thing depending on what you want form JA.

well the last JA game I played was wildfire I think, or maybe JA 2 upgraded with all the guns or whatever, I don't expect it to be like that, but I hope it is better than the remakes we have had in-between.

Since the first trailer I've been convinced Vickie was made more central to promo material for quota and cutting off "people" from whining about the Africa setting. She gets used because she's an OK starter merc for her price, but I never see anyone mention her as a character. I don't hate that they're using her, but the motive seems transparent.

New trailer, too.

Didn't know much about JA3 and filled it as "another shittier corpsefucking" but this looks legit good. Like if someone actually took JA2 and tried to make honest sequel. There are some things I don't like, like whole XCOM camera when you target enemy but feature wise it seems to be great and in actual spirit of JA2. I think cherry on top is that each village etc/ much like JA2 will have it's own npcs. This is one of the features people rarely mention that elevated JA2 to legendary status. It wasn't just a tactical game but also kind of rpg. Same with mercs you have being complete individuals.

Honestly if that trailer is what game is... damn.

Only thing that I kinda don't like is that vests and equipment won't show up on the character. (not a big fan of my mercs running around in just pink shirts and suspenders)

Coincidentally, the devs over at 1.13 just recently figured out how to do exactly that. :P

Find it odd that equipment graphics isn't a thing, being a 3D game and all.
Probably so everyone does not look the same once everyone carries similar armors. They would need to invest into customizing equipment like nuXcom games do if they allowed that or every of your mercs would lose their unique look.

Probably. Going to miss that sense of progression communicated through the visuals. (And playing doll with tacticool equipment)

I think so too - enemies and mercs in JA2 also looked weird (someone mentioned pink shirt) because if all soldiers had camo uniforms, players would have a problem with reading who is who.

Oh man, I wish you could just apply this armor mod on top of the vanilla game. Would fix pretty much the only problem I've ever had with JA2.

I went to look at the order page for the collectors' edition and ... there apparently isn't one. Marketing put "preorder now" in the video and then forgot to create any mechanism for selling the damn thing.

Edit: up on amazon.de .... not sure how official that is though.
I can't find a place to order one here in the US....
The "Currently Unavailable" status makes me think it's already sold out.

1.13 takes the base game and adds a thousand excellent features, ranging from improved AI, more granular merc control and suppressive fire to coordinated strategic AI that will launch counteroffensives against liberated sectors, elevating the already excellent tacticool action to a whole new level. Then it adds a thousand dogshit features as well, for balance.

That trailer looks pretty good. We might get a good game out of this one.

Another reason would be that having equipment changes reflected requires more work than having a set visual style for the character.
